this was our 6th stay at darwin forest and already booked for 2012. So much to see and do in and around the local area.The staff are fantastic.A fantastic holiday for all the family. Cant wait to get there in the summer.

Fantastic family hiliday

Enjoyed a family break in lovely peaceful setting

The cabin was lovely and the hot tub & sauna were great. But we only received 2 of everything ie plates, cutlery mugs etc. So it was a bit of a sin when trying to cook a full meal with little resources.

A really fun and relaxing holiday

I do think the stay is tad expensive, particularly given the later check in time and earlier check out time (but I do understand the reasons for that). That said, you get what you pay for. The lodge is very well equipped and comfortable and the surroundings are great. I love the fact that all the lodges feel quite secluded. You never feel like you're on top of people, you feel like you're on your own plot! I like being able to stroll down to the restaurant for a drink or a bite to eat and the onsite pool is great. We all had a great stay and would definitely consider coming again.

Shame we couldnt get a lodge with a hot tub but it was a late booking.
Only comment would be for some coat hooks in the lodge! but that is just being picky.

It was expensive for what the site had to offer, it was during lock down, but even if those arears where open, its not any where near in comparison to your competitors at the same price range

Absolutely outstanding holiday, not cheap, but the lodges were extremely clean and well equipped, the leisure facilities were very good and the restaurant served good quality food.

I had to clean the kitchen upon arrival, I think it may have been forgotten, but the rest of the cabin was cleaned well.

The two of us and our dog stayed comfortably in Coppice Spa 1 for a week. It was well equipped. We went to Mae Tor, Chatsworth House, Hardwick Hall and Beeley Moor for great dog walks-all within 45 minutes. We had an anniversary dinner at the restaurant which was as expected. The enclosed garden was great-it allowed the dog to be outside without concern that he would wander. All in all a great week with great weather.

Excellent dog friendly accommodation. The separate utility room with dog shower was perfect for our dogs stay.

The lodge and park were spotlessly clean as always. A truly relaxing break. Darwin Forest is always a first class destination, but they have gone above and beyond this summer to ensure their guests feel safe and valued!

Perfect family break.lodge had everything we needed.

This is a wonderful place, my only regret was that I didn't book for a week. Perfect location with plenty of places to visit and lots of things to do on site also. Although not all of the facilities were open due to COVID, we were more than happy. The facilities in the lodge can not be faulted, we had the most wonderful time and will definitely be returning. The Foresters restaurant was surprising as we was not expecting the food to be as good as it was, can highly recommend the pizzas and the sunday lunch.

Fab holiday for a whole mix of age groups. Something for everyone! Would definitely recommend and will definitely stay again!

This was the first time we went to this place. It was absolutely stunning. Surrounded by nature. The whole park was super quiet which let us get amazing sleep. Due to covid most facilities were closed so cant say how good they were but we played golf and tennis and had so much fun. We have paid over 550£ for 4 nights for two adults and a baby which I think was highly overpriced but it was our only and last chance to go somewhere so we did it.
Staff was lovely and helpful super kind. Coming from London, you could feel they are much happier there.
Food in restaurant was average, was good bud not amazing. Staff wore masks all the time, sanitizers everywhere so well adjusted to covid.
We will definitely come back but it ll have to be on very different price. But if you want to escape noise and take your kids on get to know the nature around you this is where you go :)

Lodge clean, comfortable with all accessories eg washing machine dish washer fridge freezer. But could not get tv to work.

We as a family absolutely love it here and would highly recommend to anyone that asked! Looking to come back in the summer if things calm down if not we will be back at Christmas time!

We had a lovely stay and the lodge was a great base to explore the surrounding area. We enjoyed some lovely walks, some straight from the door.

The facilities on site were very good. The lodge had all the mod cons and we loved our hot tub. Highly recommend.

Well kitted out had everything we required and more.

We stayed in glade 1 Amazing place to stay , our cabin had everything you could need or want , very modern inside with tv in every room inc the bathroom , sound bar for your music plus a ps4 if you like that sort of thing , sauna , the Jacuzzi was unreal most off our time spent in it , even on a night it was snowing , highly recommended

Had a great relaxing time

We had a 4 night stay and could have easily stayed longer- in fact there were tears when we left! The lodges are immaculately clean with all the utensils and bits and bobs that are needed for a self-catering stay (including dishwasher tablets and cleaning cloths). From check-in to checkout, the staff were efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. Landwin strikes a lovely balance between having enough facilities to keep a young family entertained with tranquility, peace and quiet. We decided to splash out on a lodge with a hot tub which I would highly recommend. Again, this was checked continually during our stay to ensure it was always ready to use. The site is on the doorstep of many attractions as well as services like supermarkets and shops. As an owner of an electric car, we even had points to charge our vehicle which were priced at a competitive rate- thank you! If you are looking for a retreat where young children won’t be bored, this is the place to stay. The only niggle was that all the activities were booked up before we arrived- a better notification system would be advantageous. Better bins in the lodges to encourage and to make recycling easier.

Very clean with all you could want within the lodge. Good facilities on site. Only down side was some of the staff in the restaurant could be a little bit more friendly as they appeared not happy in their job!

This was perfect for our annual family get together, the pool was just right for us and the lodges are very clean with everything you need. The staff were very friendly and happy to help with anything we needed, would definitely visit again

Landlords Darwin Forest is in a beautiful location, however it is literally in the middle of nowhere and quite a drive to the nearest town. It was very hot whilst we were there and it would have been nice if fans were available as the lodges became uncomfortably hot. Staff were very friendly throughout the holiday village and could not fault them. The grounds were very well kept and there was no litter anywhere.

Lovely park with modern facilities in great scenic location

The site was very well maintained and I have to say the reception staff in particular gave such a professional and friendly welcome that I knew straight away that this was going to be a good site. My only negative would be the cost of the activities- paying £60 for an 8 person session when you only have 2 kids wanting to take part meant that most of the activities were not accessible to us.

Fabulous location and park. Lodge was stunning (Chatsworth Elite Vogue 3 Spa) and service was excellent from reception staff to grounds people and the swimming staff. Lots to do onsite for free and finding the Darwin Forest Wooden Drums was really good fun! Some activities have a small charge and there is lots in the surrounding area such as Matlock Farm park and Gullivers Theme Park. If you’re looking for rest and relaxation with your family you won’t find better. Highly recommend a holiday here and we will definitely be back.

We had a fantastic break. The lodge was comfy and well equipped and all of the facilities were clean and well kept. The pool, gym and mini golf were great!

Absolutely fantastic stay very friendly staff. Lodge spotless . Great food and a lovely pint at the forester's Go again in a heartbeat loved every minute ?
