The cottage was perfect for our stay, tucked away nicely from busy areas. The hot tub was a real highlight! Hosts were friendly but didn't bother us at all.

We had an amazing stay at this cosy little cottage! Honestly, its so well equipped, we didnt need to bring a thing. The welcome pack was a lovely touch, full of useful info and menus - really thought through. Our dogs loved the enclosed garden and the hot tub was just perfect for relaxing after days out. Sharon and Rob were quick to reply if we had any questions, which was appreciated. Thanks for the thoughtful extras for us and our pups - well definitely be coming back!

We stayed at a beautifully converted house that was super cosy and warm, perfect for a rainy December day! The bath was fantastic and the big shower was a bonus. The place is right on a flight path, but honestly, we barely noticed any noise, so dont let that put you off. Great spot if youve got dogs that hate fireworks - very peaceful and remote. Thanks so much!

We had such a lovely time! The lodge was stunning and really well equipped, perfect for a relaxing escape. The hot tub and decking area were just what we needed-private but with gorgeous views. All the staff we spoke to were super friendly and helpful, which made a big difference. The site was spotless and the kids loved the playpark, especially the little ones. Honestly, it was just what we needed after all the restrictions. Well definitely be coming back!

We stayed at Friarlands Lodge recently. Arriving late at night, we struggled a bit with directions, even with the instructions and had to go back to reception for help. The staff member there was really friendly and even drove us up to the lodge, which was a lovely touch. Once inside, we couldnt get enough of the beautiful decor - its truly stunning and tastefully done. The only real downside was that, for the first time ever, we forgot to bring towels! Had to dash to Tesco the next morning and spent £40 on four towels - bit of a pain! The outdoor space wasnt really our thing; the open decking meant everyone could see us while in the hot tub, which spoiled the privacy a bit. Weve been to Carrick Lodge twice and that place faces a field with gorgeous decor, so wed go back there instead. Overall, a lovely stay, just remember to bring your towels unless privacy isnt a big deal for you!

We stayed at Goddard's Mead recently and truly felt welcomed from the moment we arrived. Rob and Sharon have done a wonderful job restoring this historic building with care and attention. Bonnie was lovely too! The place has everything you need for a relaxing stay and the location is perfect for exploring Essexs charming villages and towns. Definitely worth taking a walk around Thaxted and soaking up the history. Highly recommend!

We had an amazing holiday! The lodge was stunning and really felt homey. There were some small cosmetic issues, like a cracked bath panel, a crack inside the fridge and some scrapes on the walls, but nothing too bothersome. The only real downside was the 2-seater sofa-super uncomfortable, so we had to put a blanket underneath the cushions. Also, more glasses, especially wine ones for the festive season, would be a nice touch. Still, wed happily come back and recommend it to family and friends!

We had a really lovely week at this cosy cottage with our two mini dachshunds. The village of Thaxted is charming and our pups made loads of new friends, which was great to see. The hot tub was a real treat, especially since it was scorching during our stay-cooling it down made it so much nicer. The hosts were super friendly and welcoming; it was nice to see their dogs out in the fields every day. Sure, youre near Stansteds flight path, but honestly, watching the planes land was pretty interesting. Wed definitely come back!

We had a lovely stay at this good place. The location is so peaceful and private, yet the owners were super friendly and always on hand if we needed anything. The hot tub was a real highlight after long cycle days! A heads up, the cottage is right under Stansteds flight path, so theres quite a bit of aircraft noise. It didnt bother us much once we got used to it, but if youre sensitive to noise, its worth knowing. Overall, a great place for a relaxing break!

We really enjoyed our stay at this lodge. The location at the back of the park offered stunning views that made everything feel special. The lodge itself was fantastic-definitely top quality. No complaints at all and were already planning to return soon!
