We had such a lovely time at this cosy cottage tucked away on a working farm. Its surprisingly private and the owners, Robert and Sharon, couldnt be nicer. The place is really spacious, with well-equipped kitchen and bathroom and the bed was super comfy - we slept like logs! The garden is perfect for dogs, totally secluded and has nice furniture for relaxing outside. Plenty of walks nearby and Thaxteds eateries, especially The Star and The Maypole, are worth a visit. Wed definitely recommend it!

We spent a week here in mid-July with our two mini dachshunds and honestly, it was a lovely stay. The cottage itself is charming and the hot tub was a real highlight-especially during the scorching days, it was so nice to have a cool, refreshing dip. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming, which made us feel right at home. It was nice to see their dogs being taken out to the fields daily too. Being near Stansteds flight path was actually pretty entertaining; we enjoyed watching the planes land. Would definitely recommend this place!

We recently stayed at Goddard's Mead and were really impressed. Rob and Sharon put so much effort into converting this historic building and it shows. They greeted us warmly, along with Bonnie, which made us feel right at home. The location is perfect for exploring Essex, especially if you enjoy wandering through charming villages like Thaxted. Its a truly relaxing spot with everything you need for a comfy stay. Highly recommend!

The hot tubs lighting was pretty poor - only one dim outside light, so we had to keep the toilet light on just to see! Still, overall, it was a relaxing stay, just a bit let down by the lighting situation. Wouldnt mind returning, though.

We recently tried staying in a pod for the first time and honestly, it was great! Very tidy and snug, which we loved. The only tiny downside is if you're taller than 5ft9, you might feel a bit cramped on the downstairs bed, but overall, super comfortable. Well definitely come back!
