Sand le Mere Holiday Village is a popular, family friendly holiday park with a fantastic location near Withernsea on the Yorkshire coast. The park has an elevated setting and boasts lovely coastal views. A sandy beach is just a short stroll away and the seaside towns of Filey and Scarborough are within easy reach.

The park has a relaxed and friendly atmosphere and there are plenty of grassy areas for children to play. The park is mainly populated with families during the summer months who come here for the good facilities and easy access to some of Yorkshires best attractions.

The park is well set out and during the summer months the outdoor pool and sun terraces are where most people hang out. There is also a Jacuzzi and steam room for the grown ups while children can enjoy the play areas, amusements, crazy golf and 10 pin bowling. The site has recently had heavy investment in both the accommodation and facilities and everything is of a very high standard.

In the evening, guests can grab a bite to eat from the cafe or take away and then head to the clubhouse for the entertainment. The site also has a separate bar serving food.
Local attractions include the Sealife centre at Scarborough, the stunning beach at Withernsea and Whitby Abbey.

Accommodation is in modern holiday homes, all of which are spacious and comfortable. The Viking and Viking Deluxe caravans sleep 4-6 and have one double and one twin bedroom. This caravan is lovely it's clean and modern but seriously lacks storage. We had 7 people sharing and storing clothes for the week was impossible . It would also benefit from some coat hooks.

Rebecca, Rotherham
Date of stay: 4th September 2017
Excellent holiday, great facilities, perhaps only area of improvement would be cleanliness and food quality in the bar. Also selection in the onsite shop was limited not a problem for us as we went into Withernsea but maybe if anyone didn't have transport.

Date of stay: 28th April 2017
clean and tidy comfortable beds well stocked although my son said could do with some pint glasses could do with some instructions about the heating as ours kept going off and had to put up high and as my son has issues he was getting frustrated but generally no issues
Rob, Wirral
Date of stay: 21st April 2017
Excellent lodge, really roomy. HG15 is the one we stayed in. Slightly noisey in the evening as the club house is behind it but the noise ended by 11pm. The noise didn't disturb our young children (1 and 5) .
Karen
Date of stay: 21st April 2017
Static was excellent, clean and well presented.
Lisa, Boroughbridge
Date of stay: 14th April 2017
The caravan was wonderful. Lots of room. Two separate doors to the same bathroom is a great idea. And the walk in wordrobe was great for storage
Helen, West Yorkshire
Date of stay: 10th April 2017
The caravan we stayed in was lovely, we had no problems at all. There was limited room to park outside most caravans though, which meant a lot of cars appeared abandoned
Emma, Fleetwood
Date of stay: 4th November 2016

Linda, Nottingham
Date of stay: 24th October 2016

Date of stay: 19th September 2016
Enjoyed the caravan. Although Found a big stain on the sofa in the lounge. There was a dirty spoon stuck the fire when we switched it on. Everything else was at a reasonable standard. Theres was enough kitchen equipment and a clean dishcloth and toilet roll was a nice touch on arrival.
David, Coalville
Date of stay: 9th September 2016
As expected
Sylvia, Royton
Date of stay: 2nd September 2016
We brought our dog with us, the only fault I could find is there was no brush or vac to clean up after him. Felt a bit guilty, spoke to a member of staff who said " don't worry about it we expect to find dog hairs in our pet friendly caravans!" I still would have liked to be able to vac during our week, after all we do at home!
Rosemary, Oxon
Date of stay: 23rd July 2016
Thought we had been given the wrong caravan as very very nice and quite new.
We had dogs so were very surprised...
Melanie, Salford

Date of stay: 24th June 2016
It was comfortable and clean. The only thing I would say is that the bathroom was a bit small. Nice quiet location and not too far from the ameneties. There was plenty of crockery and pans and the bedding was good. Yes, good value for money.

Krystina, Oakham
Date of stay: 23rd October 2015
Carvan was lovely and perfect for our group but there was a lot of wear and tear and the screws were coming out of the ladder for the bunk bed .
Irene, Leicester
Date of stay: 19th October 2015
There were a couple of minor cleanliness issues though we did not complain. We were cold the first night due to faulty fitting French Windows though we only found out where the heating was going the next morning. It was quickly put right. The smell of eggs when taps were run coming from sinks was unpleasant.
Donna, Lanarkshire
Date of stay: 16th October 2015
Very rare you get a full size COMFORTABLE bed and extras as standard. Impressed and I'm a snob!
Caroline, St. Helens

The only very slight negative about the caravan was that upon arrival some surfaces had not been wiped. We quickly had a wipe round and was sorted, so not a major issue. Otherwise caravan was excellent.

Amanda, Mansfield, Nottinghamshire
Date of stay: 7th August 2015
The only downside was how poorly cleaned the caravan was before our arrival. There was mouldy food under the beds along with other items left on the floor, cobwebs in all the rooms and the bathroom was not fully cleaned.

Date of stay: 1st May 2015
My family had an amazing holiday. We booked off peak, and although it was quiet, we loved it. The caravan was great as were the facilities and the staff. We had an evening meal in the bar, and the food was really nice. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff whilst we were there. The Entertainment Manager is fantastic with children and really made my daughter feel at ease at the Mini Meerkats Club. We will be re booking to return next year.
Many thanks to all the staff

The only down side is the fact the pool was only open to adults

you go out it wasn't very useful.

Site was lovely but out of the way. Need a car for trips. Shop could be better stocked. Entertainment in the evening was not good in afraid, every night was the entertainment reps singing, and sometimes not the well. Had a comedian on the Friday, Nick L'mao. What a fab act, wish there were more like that through the week.

Enjoyed the site especially the entertainment. The entertainment staff were brilliant. Some of the other staff, especially the lifeguards were grumpy and didn't speak when you spoke to them. One of the days, the activity was football. Wwe took down our two excited children to the fields and was there for the start - 1pm. At 1:20pm i went to reception and asked what was happening, the reception staff apologised and radioed for a lifeguard to come up and hold the session. 10 mins later he turned up without a football and told us we had to bring our own. he then disappeared, so we bought a football from the shop and played with the children ourselves with more joining us. I was disgusted with this service and rudeness f the tall, young blond haired lifeguard. The caravan was the best caravan we have stayed in by far and the site was the cleanest we have stayed in. the swimming pool is immaculate. only downside is that they need to have more activites for the children, there isn't as much to do as say park resorts.

Very friendly staff really wanted to involve u in all entertainment
Karen
2nd time here. Kids loved it. Some disappointments as pool not up to temperature and so didn’t get much use of it and it was one of the main reasons for going. Children’s entertainment was excellent and the entertainers were brilliant. Kids loved them.
Carly
Fantastic place the staff were amazing. My kids really enjoyed the entertainment put on for them in the day and early evening . The pool was a tad chilly but ideal for my 9 year old to learn to swim in 😍. Restaurant was very good value with lovely food. I was very impressed with the children's meals. Drinks were reasonably priced and the shop was also reasonable to buy the kids their souvenirs. The caravan was lovely loads of room although lacked storage and hanging hooks. Over all we would recommend and return to this park.
Elizabeth
We had a fantastic holiday. Despite the rain the in house entertainment kept the whole family busy. The staff were very friendly and helped with everything that we needed. The site was clean and well maintained. Thank you
Jennifer
Loved the location ideally would have liked better entertainment aimed towards 7-13yr olds

Visitors can a stroll through Europe's deepest viewing tunnel and take a thrilling a glass lift ride through the 10m deep tank. The Deep is also home to the world's largest exhibition, featuring weird animals from the depths combined with slime! Educational talks and events take place daily so visitors can learn about the conservation projects which the centre is involved in. There is also a fantastic restaurant over looking some of the displays and a souvenir shop. Family tickets are priced at just 32.00.

Wow this is an amazing family theme park and you will probably need the full day to experience it all.  From thrilling rides to family shows, kids of all ages are catered for.  Some of the most popular rides include the Obliterator and The Pendulus, not forgetting the Hypoblaster.   Family shows are entertaining such as the African Acrobat Show which is back by popular demand.  Entrance tickets are good value and if you book online you will receive a discount. To save even more money if you live locally or are visiting the area for a few weeks you could buy a season ticket for around £50 which will allow you entry for the whole season.
about 15 Miles
Centred around a Tropical House in an amazing jungle like setting this is a really unique attraction that will appeal to families.  In the Cleethorpes area of Lincolnshire it's easy to get to and offers a fun yet educational experience.  Referred to as the number one attraction in the area highlights include capuchin monkeys, meerkats, ring tailed lemur and for the children African pygmy goats.  The tropical house features Red Eared and other Terrapins from North America and goldfish amongst other things.  We think The Jungle Zoo represents excellent value for money too.  We recommend a whole day to explore this attraction and ensure you get to see all of the animals resident there.

Located in Louth in Lincolnshire this is an ideal attraction when you want to get out in the fresh air and explore. There are many animals to see including ponies and piglets which the little ones love.  There are also some amazing birds from hawks and falcons to owls.  Most aspects of this attraction are included in the admission cost and as well as wandering around you get to hold and feed the animals too.  A real highlight are the micro pigs which are just like real pigs but in miniature.  Fully grown they are around the size of a spaniel!  If you get hungry then you can take your own picnic to the picnic areas or head for the tea room selling delicious food and children's meals too.
