The lodge itself was lovely it was clean and modern and spacious for the 4 of us , things needed are a hoover , we took our own but one is needed
A fan as it gets incredibly warm inside even with windows open ,
Some more pots and pans we did struggle to cook some dinners with only one size pan ,
The location is ok but being on a main road , come a Sunday evening is horrible as there are cars racing up and down the whole night like a race track , it was very noisy and quite a nuisance , thankfully only on a Sunday
Overall the lodge is pleasant and we would stay again but we would be more prepared

Ideal location for a relaxing break especially if your not concerned about having the amenities and facilities a holiday resort would have.

Date of stay: 31st July 2020
Absolutely beautiful accommodation, very clean and modern. Felt very secure too with the security gate at the front of the park.

Although our lodge was closest to the main road it didn't affect our enjoyment too much as there wasn't that much traffic in the evening or late at night. Most of the heavy traffic during the day was from HGV's and I suspect there was a stone quarry nearby.

Would definitely stay there again :)

The lodge was immaculate but due to its proximity to a busy main road and the traffic I would not return

Although there was absolutely nothing at the lodges...the lodge was outstanding.
I would like to come back next year.. But providing you do not hike up the prices.. It would be nice I'd people learned t o kerp the cost of British holidays down. As its good for the environment and for our own economy.. Some of the holiday accommodation in this country. Is more expensive than an all inclusive holiday abroad.. and I really think you at hosea sons have the chance to redress the balance here and get as many people to holiday in uk as possible...perhaps you should start bt making caravans more affordable. For all.

Date of stay: 16th September 2019
Fabulous lodge , warm and comfortable which included everything we needed.
The sofas are getting ready for some attention , bit of backache after sitting too long !! But nothing to spoil the break.
Due to mobility I found the addition of a walk in shower very handy in nice spacious bathrooms.
Very clean lodge . Although we could contact management if needed we weren't bothered by anyone at all.

Very quiet and peaceful, lovely place and upkeep of gardens was excellent. Nothing seemed too much trouble as we had a couple of minor problems which was sorted out immediately, they did not affect the holiday.

Overall excellent place to stay. Only down side was the checking in time of 4pm, would be good if moved to 12noon.

All was great. If I could make a recommendation, it would be to have an iron and ironing board available

Had a fabulous time - great base for. Couples or families with older children

Date of stay: 12th August 2019
Absolutely immaculate lodge with all the home comforts you could desire and more. Woodpecker Lodge is the nearest lodge to the road so during the day there is some road noise but not so much that it makes a big difference to your holiday. After about 8.30 at night the road is really quite and you hardly notice it. Overall an A+ lodge.

Beautiful lodge no faults

Date of stay: 5th July 2019
A lovely classic lodge which was basically a home from home. We had everything we required apart from an ironing-board. There is even a small barbecue. The bed is really comfortable, which is more than could be said for the settees.

My comments are that this is an extremely small site with only several lodges and it is off a busy main road. We were the 2nd lodge in and could clearly hear traffic at night and especially in the morning. There is also no one on site at all alert from the cleaners on the changeovers.

This is the second visit to this lodge and have even book again this year for the third time .We love every thing about it The welcome gift of wine and chocolates is lovely too. Last christmas there was even a christmas tree decorated on arrival ,made it feel special when we walked in.The owner is lovely too .Hoping to get a forth visit in this year if we can .Thank you for making it a lovely experience for us .
Michelle
We couldn't have asked for better . Wish we had known that we could have stayed until 12 on day of leaving for an extra charge. As my husband Is in the second stage of dementia, he had a bad night so we were running late . Couldn't do what we would like to have done to make sure log cabin was as clean as we had it on day of arrival. Did ask to allow us time but told no ,was no flexibility so now being charged for extra cleaning . Not happy about that .

This site is very small and intimate with no facilties such as shop, pool etc. but it was lovely and well kept. To be fair it was just what we needed personally. The lodge itself was amazing far beyond what we expected. it was so warm and inviting. It was a 3 bedroom ( 1 double and 2 twins), 2 bathroom with a great lounge and kitchen. The kitchen facilties were good, only issue was working the microwave as it was confusing and the instructions were not in English but we got there in the end! The fridge/freezer was an excellent size and having a washing machine was a bonus. We did not really see any staff, except a man cutting the grass but we didnt need them. we did have a contact number if there had been an issue. The only small gripe was the departure time(9am).It was abit of a struggle for us as 4 adults, have no idea how it would work if we had a couple of kids!! 10am would be better I would suggest especially as you have to strip the beds and bag the linen up, empty the dishwasher, do rubbish etc. We kept the lodge in good order during our stay but for us it was still a struggle for a 9am departure. Overall, would totally recommend Longmead Country escapes. It was a wonderful and relaxed stay. Definitely could have stayed longer!!!
Kay
Absolutely beautiful lodge spacious and immaculate.....a perfect place for a peaceful holiday
Ian
Great short break. Had a wonderful time.
Sarah
Fantastic lodge, it was pet friendly, we had no pet with us. There was a slight odour when entering the lodge, but I took my diffuser so that helped. Very comfy, very modern. Bed very comfy shower very powerful. Probably best lodge we've stayed in and we have stayed in many! Lovely to find a bottle of wine and chocolates in the fridge! Very thoughtful. Lovely and quiet, felt secure with the gate on entrance, only 6 units. Can't comment on staff as didn't see anyone. It was awkward finding the key safe in the dark, using my mobile as a torch. Late check in and early check out. Would definitely stay again. Have already looked at availability.
Rhonda
amazin ,lovely and clean ,easy acess to weston super mare .chedda gorge , staff were very helpful we stayed in red robin
Jamie
Beautiful lodge! Would definitely stay again! A shame the garden isn't enclosed for the dog but that's the only bad side. The place was totally worth it.
Joanne
Wow, what a stunning lodge! Absolutely beautiful and finished to a very high standard, was very clean on arrival, close to cheddar but out of the way so lots of peace and quiet. I would highly recommend staying here and I will be back
Deborah
Lovely place without down grading because we took our dog. Very quite, not interfered with, secure location and very close to Cheddar gorge. Nice relaxing break
JENNIFER
Great accommodation, spotlessly clean, site immaculate and clearly cared for. Location ideal, many country walks around and public transport if needed. A excellent break had by all.
Richard
Myself my wife and our dog milo visited this lodge for a week from the 1/10/21 we found the lodge to be very clean and had everything in it you would need home from home. I do think that the 5pm arrival needs to be reviewed as this is quite late to get into if you have had a long drive Only problem maybe for some would be the road noise if you have the bedroom window open apart from this no problems at all and well worth a visit
Wendy
Very relaxing
Brenda
Have only given 7 for helpfulness as we never saw any staff after the day we arrived.
