The lodge was very clean and nice relaxing space. Only thing we found was the lodge was very hot and even with opening windows when we were in the lodge it was still hot during very hot weather. A couple fans or air conditioning in the lodge would be helpful

This lodge is a little tired.

We had a pleasant break, and it is an ideal base to explore the area, but there were a few things that took the edge off the week. When we arrived on one of the hottest days of the year, with the large amount of windows facing south, the temperature in the lodge was extreme, and it took several hours to get to an acceptable level (I would recommend taking portable fans with you - thankfully we did). It was mentioned at reception that perhaps staff should ensure the curtains are closed for new arrivals with the extreme heat. As a pet friendly lodge, I was disappointed that there was no gate for the decking area, meaning that we had to use the patio table as a gate to allow the dog to roam around freely. Surely this should be essential, if pets or children are in the lodge. There were a several issues within the lodge regarding cleanliness, such as smear marks on mirrors, areas within the lounge where hoovering could be better (dog hairs), and the second bathroom had a water damaged and poorly fitted bath panel. As for the bistro, a couple of issues were encountered with delayed/missed food orders, staffing levels, and running out of Guinness!!One other thing to be aware of, is the fact that there is a public footpath through the site and on several occasions local children were making noise which was a bit of a distraction.Nothing major, but enough to warrant this feedback.HTH

Lovely site and amazing staff but sadly the cabin we stayed in had many faults and wasnt as clean as it should of been. It all felt rather neglected with some quite dangerous faults. The food was also very disappointing. We only ate there once sourcing food elsewhere.

Break was ruined by the filthy condition of the lodge.

Date of stay: 28th May 2025
The location of the cabin was nice and secluded and mostly the facilities were very good. However the cabin looks tired in places and needs a good steam clean, the utensils and crockery extremely limited and not enough for four people sharing at any one time. Meals had to be adjusted to what was available. Frying pan was too small and not enough oven pots, variety of glasses etc available. Handed in a maintenance list to reception at the end of our stay to include en suite loo not draining, gas hob cutting out, bathroom skirting not cleaned properly, control knob on back room radiator fallen off and blinds in living room front window needed fixing to runner. Apart from these issues which we put up with everything else made for a lovely second visit to Bath Lodge.
