We loved the cottage! It's just far enough from everything to feel private but still handy for shops and cafes. The hot tub was a real treat and the underfloor heating made everything super cosy. Rob, Sharon and Bonnie were lovely hosts. Can't wait to return for longer!

From the moment we arrived, Rob, Sharon and adorable Bonnie made us feel really welcome. The building itself is beautifully restored, maintaining its historic charm while offering modern comforts. Goddard's Mead is perfectly situated in a lovely part of Essex, ideal for exploring Thaxted and the surrounding villages. We loved wandering around and soaking in the history. Its a peaceful spot, just what we needed for a relaxing break. Highly recommend!

We spent a week here in July with our two tiny dachshunds and honestly, they loved every minute. The village of Thaxted is adorable and the hosts made us feel super welcome. The cottage itself is really charming, especially the hot tub-perfect for cooling off during those scorching days, it was such a treat. Watching planes land near Stansted was surprisingly fun and we enjoyed seeing the hustle and bustle. All in all, a lovely stay and we'd definitely recommend if you're after a relaxed getaway with your furry friends!

We had a great stay at this lovely cottage on a working farm, which felt quite private despite the location. The owners, Robert and Sharon, are such friendly and welcoming people. The place itself is really spacious with everything you'd need in the kitchen and bathroom. The bed was super comfy and the garden, being dog-proof and private, was perfect for relaxing outside. Loads of nice walks nearby and Thaxted has some decent restaurants like The Star and The Maypole. Wed definitely recommend it!

We booked this place hoping for a nice dog walking getaway and it did not disappoint. The accommodation was spot on, with lovely pubs and eateries nearby. The best part? Miles of fields for walks and the dog loved every minute! We almost didnt want to leave.

We had such a lovely stay! The owners are genuinely friendly and go out of their way to help, which made us feel really welcome. The cottage itself is adorable, with charming half-timbered features and a really strong shower - essential after a day of exploring. The bed was super comfy and the place was spotless. Parking right next to the cottage was a big plus. We enjoyed walking to Thaxted and visiting the windmill, its all so picturesque and easy to get to.

We had such a lovely stay! The lodge was fantastic, really well situated on the site and everything we needed was there. The kitchen was well stocked and those Rituals toiletries were a nice surprise. We loved sitting on the decking at both ends and catching the sun early morning and evening. We got really lucky with the weather too, hitting 17 in March! Honestly, cant fault it and wed definitely recommend to others. Cant wait to see how it improves with the new development!

The kitchen and living space felt cosy and welcoming and the bed was super comfy. Parking right outside was a real bonus. Its well heated, spotless and perfect for exploring the nearby fields and Thaxted. Honestly, wed definitely come back!

We stayed in these lodges during a chilly February and they were genuinely lovely-so much better than Centre Parcs! Theyre really cosy and well-kept. Personally, Id pick a microwave over a washer/dryer anyday, but thats just us. Definitely recommend!

We had a lovely stay at Landal Barnsoul overall. The lodge itself was stunning and felt really modern and comfortable. However, we did face a few minor issues. The TV in the lounge was pretty small considering it was our main spot for watching TV and the source button didnt work, so we stuck with Freeview. The biggest hassle was the connection problem with Netflix and the TV, which took up quite a bit of our time. Luckily, the next day, the staff sorted us out, which we really appreciated. The hot tub area was a bit of a letdown, not very aesthetic and it wasnt covered, so it felt a bit exposed. Plus, you had to go through the bedroom to get to the bathrooms, which was a bit inconvenient-made the floor wet and less private. In other Landal parks, you can access the en suite bathrooms directly from the hot tub area, which is much better. Still, everyone on the team was super friendly and helpful, which made a big difference in the end. Wed definitely come back!

Our weekend stay was just what we needed and we really enjoyed the place. The garden was perfect for our dogs and they had a blast, especially with the underfloor heating - Luna even wagged her tail so much she strained it! Well definitely return.
