Ely Cathedral stands above the flat Fenland landscape, which is why locals call it "the ship of the Fens". The earliest parts of the present building date to 1083, and it is one of the largest Norman churches built in its day. Its nave is among the longest in Britain, and the central Octagon, with its lantern above, creates a remarkable space inside.

Oxburgh Hall is a moated medieval manor house near Swaffham, with Victorian Gothic interiors. It was built in the 1480s for the Bedingfeld family, who still live in private apartments there. You cross the moat to a tall brick gatehouse, then explore the hall, which has a priest hole and needlework hangings worked by Mary, Queen of Scots and Bess of Hardwick.
Tip: Parking is free on site, and the hall is about 250 metres from the main car park along a flat gravel path.

Banham Zoo is a 50-acre zoo in Norfolk, run by the Zoological Society of East Anglia, a registered charity. It opened to the public in 1968 and is the largest zoo in the region. Peckover House is a Georgian merchant's townhouse in Wisbech, built in 1722 and home to the Quaker Peckover banking family for 150 years. Inside are panelled rooms, Georgian fireplaces and ornate plasterwork, plus a library, a cabinet of curiosities and an exhibition on the family's banking business in the surviving part of the old Banking Hall.

Castle Rising is a ruined medieval castle in the Norfolk village of the same name, built soon after 1138 by William d'Aubigny II. Queen Isabella lived here after her fall from power in 1330, and entertained her son, Edward III, on several occasions.

Grime's Graves is a large Neolithic flint mining complex in Norfolk, 8 km north east of Brandon. Miners worked here from around 2600 to 2300 BC, digging shafts into the chalk to reach seams of flint, which was much in demand for making polished stone axes. Some of the largest shafts are more than 14 m deep and 12 m wide at the surface.

Denny Abbey is a 12th-century, Grade I listed former monastery that was home in turn to monks, Knights Templar and Franciscan nuns, before becoming a farm. Alongside it, the Farmland Museum fills converted farm buildings and a 17th-century stone barn with the story of life and farming in the Cambridgeshire Fens.

We Had lovely time here, the lodge was very spacious and very clean. We loved that the hot tub was private (on the side) rather than being at front where everyone could see. The lodge is tucked away on beautiful golf course, with a little shop which gives you so much more quality family time. Its so peaceful especially at night. For families staying we recommend the following days out : ROARR (about hour away) Skylark (about half hour away) Train to kings Lyn (station is 5/10 mins away in car, and cost £13 for family of four return) Bircham windmill - (50 mins away) climb to the top, make own bread, play stuff for children, horse, lovely cafe!

Really enjoyed our visit overall, even though theres no restaurant onsite which was a bit of a letdown. The free golf was a lovely bonus and wed definitely return for another round someday!

We had a fantastic stay! The house was super cosy and well kitted out, perfect for a chilly December day. The bath was so relaxing and the shower was a good size. Even though its under a flight path, we hardly noticed any noise, so dont let that put you off. Great spot for dogs who dislike fireworks - totally peaceful out here. Thanks a lot!
We had such a lovely stay here! The owners are genuinely friendly and went out of their way to help us. The cottage itself is adorable, with a charming half-timbered look and a really good shower. The cosy kitchen and comfy bed made it feel just like home. Parking right next to the cottage was super convenient and the place was spotless. Perfect base for walks to Thaxted and exploring nearby villages. Would definitely stay again!
We had a fantastic weekend stay, everything was just perfect for us. The place really hit the mark and were already planning to return. Our dogs had a blast-especially with the underfloor heating, they loved it! The garden was great fun too. Luna was wagging her tail so much, she strained it! All in all, happy pups and happy us!

We just got back from a lovely week at Goddards Mead. The cottage had absolutely everything we needed, nice and cosy. The hosts were super friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. Despite being on a working farm, it felt so peaceful and relaxing!

We had a fantastic stay at this cosy little place tucked away in a lovely, secluded spot. The owners were genuinely friendly and always on hand if we needed anything, yet they respected our privacy completely. The hot tub was a real treat after a long day of cycling - such a relaxing touch! One thing to note, though, is that the cottage is directly under the flight path of Stansted, so aircraft noise is unavoidable. It took us a couple of hours to get used to it, but honestly, it didnt ruin our trip at all. Wed definitely go back!

Apart from the RAF fighter jets taking off once in a while some distance away this is a very quiet getaway. This is THE perfect place to unwind and relax. Tecos's is 6 mins by car so you do not have to travel far for your shopping. There is also a hot tub that is checked regularly by the staff so it is always clean. This is a great stress relief if you have been on a long drive, or again you want to simply unwind. With the choice of paying and playing a round of golf there is no better way to just simply chill. It is also a great place to base yourself to visit some of the great tourist attractions nearby. As a recommendation goes. we can not wait to return to this site again

The view from the lounge area of the lodge was across the golf course . We saw a little Muntjac coming trotting across the golf course and past put lodge a couple of times !

Lovely stay really quiet and nice location
Very nice lodge. Only two lodges currently. Situated on a golf course and was very quiet. Lodge was very clean and spacious. Would advise however to take your own hairdryer as could not locate one. Also, if you like fresh coffee, take your own cafetière. Hot tub was lovely and was located in a private, secluded area outside the front door. About 50 minutes from Cambridge park and ride and about 30 minutes from Kings Lynn. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Wifi was excellent and TV has access to Netflix, iPlayer, Prime for streaming.
Great location to explore Norfolk. The lodge has everything you would expect for an enjoyable break. The bonus is the spa pool….even when it’s raining!!!

A perfect place to stay for a short break, so quiet and peaceful. The lodge was immaculate, hot tub lovely and warm and hidden away down the side of the lodge. We will definitely return.
