Would probably give 4.5 rating as flusco wood was absolutely lovely and we would definitely go again. Bed and pillows very comfy, loved the en-suite in the bedroom. Great facilities and excellent location. Fab enclosed dog area but also huge field that felt quite safe to let our dog off the lead. The only issue we had was with the grill not always staying lit and a couple of the hobs, the radiators was also a little dusty but that is just nit picking really, however good to mention for making change. Still highly recommend.

The lodge was very nice and modern looking, the showers were brilliant for temperature and pressure, but really could do with a shelf of some sort to put products on as they are compact and hard to use products off the floor. It is dog friendly, but it really could do with a deep clean. Everything was dusty, black fittings and Venetian blinds are probably some of the worst things to have to harbour dust! But various dirty marks / food residues in kitchen on appliances / in fridge etc could easily be wiped out. Various staining on floors, and although it said no animals on beds / furniture, it was evident they had been with hair / staining. Not a problem for us as our dog is trained the same way at home to stay on the floor, but obviously it was dog friendly furniture at this point! Only makes you nervous in case you get the blame for anything on check out so we took plenty of pics the first night just to be safe. Possibly a problem for non dog owners as it was quite a dirty in that regard! Dog stepped on her water bowl the first hour we arrived in the kitchen, we used a spare hand towel to quickly mop it up, the towel did come up brown, even though wed just arrived. I believe there was a problem with the fridge, was incredibly noisy and Im sure it wasnt coming down to temperature, I had a block of cheddar in there which went soft. There was no grass near the lodge so if your pup is like ours and will only *** on grass, we couldnt just let her out to wee, because the whole thing is wooden deck, which just meant i needed to be fully dressed first thing in the morning / last thing at night to take her down the road. Hot tub was nice, its electric, however the first night it chucked it down and we werent allowed to check in until 4pm, unpack, buy food, cook dinner etc wasnt great either way as it took us 5.5 hours to get there too, second night we realised the tub had been set to 40 degrees?! I personally couldnt bear it, way too hot. Worked out how to turn it back down but it took forever so finally got to use it the third and fourth night. The kitchen had a good amount of stuff, however only 1 frying pan (Id packed my own but I think that would be a struggle!) and theres no kitchen roll / no surface spray cleaner etc. We had a 4 night stay, but only 3 dish tablets, only 2 days worth of tea / coffee, the only bin bag is the one in the bin itself. It encourages recycling (where you take it yourself to a bin area) but unless you brought something to carry it in yourself, it isnt going there. The kettle had old water in when we arrived and was actually brown inside which Ive never seen before, so we boiled water on the hob the whole 4 days we stayed rather than use it. The baking tray literally had food stuck on it when we arrived, we put the dishwasher on before using anything. The wifi available is terrible and as soon as you thought it started working, it soon turned off again about 10 mins later. We had found a dirty towel left in the wardrobe, a half packet of haribo under the bedside table, 2 pairs of socks in the bedroom draw as well, sort of goes back to the need of a deeper clean. There was long hairs stuck to some of the bathroom and window sills. The kitchen sink drainer was pretty terrible and I refused to use it. Another thing to mention is the outside is completely overlooked by neighbours and people walking down the road, if youre wanting a private hot tub area, this isnt it, we literally made eye contact with neighbours. Privacy screening would be amazing as it is stark! Especially if you dont particularly feel confident in your swim suit. The park itself is great for dogs staying, a big green area with picnic benches and a gated area where you can sort of take them off lead. The area wasnt far from supermarkets and take aways, it was a good location for the Pooley Bridge - Glenridding lake tour and Lowther Castle. We personally didnt but it seemed close enough to travel to some more of the lakes if youd wanted to / had time to. The hosts give you a suggested itinerary which is useful to plan days out. Only dropped 1 star because of the cleanliness, its a good place to do a dog friendly holiday.

The site is really tidy and well situated, which we liked. The farm smell was a bit much at times, so we skipped the hot tub a couple of days. Otherwise, it was spot on!

Overall, we had a pretty good stay. The lodge was mostly well-stocked with essentials, although we did notice a missing potato masher and a decent mixing bowl. The oven grill tray wasnt spotless when we arrived, but everything else was clean and tidy. The welcome pack of wine and chocolates was a lovely touch to start our trip!

We recently stayed at the Askham Centre Escape in Purdey and honestly, we had a pretty good time. The lodge was spotless and modern, with handy amenities like a coffee maker and dishwasher, which made things so much easier. The wifi was surprisingly reliable - it only cut out briefly a couple of times and it was fast enough for my partner to stream a football match outside in the hot tub, which was lovely. Speaking of the hot tubs, they were cleaned and maintained daily and even though they only go up to 40C for safety, it was fine for the hour and a half we spent relaxing. One of the jets didnt work, but honestly, it didnt ruin our experience. The location was perfect, tucked away on a quiet corner plot with no immediate neighbours and most of the surrounding lodges were empty, so it was super peaceful. Wed definitely consider coming back!

We had such a lovely stay! The owners are incredibly friendly and thoughtful, making us feel really welcome. The cottage itself is absolutely charming, with its traditional half-timbered style and a lovely strong shower. The cosy kitchen and comfy bed made it really easy to relax. Plus, parking right next to the cottage was super convenient. Its spotlessly clean, well heated and perfect for exploring local walks or heading to Thaxteds beautiful village with its windmill and old houses. Wed definitely come back!

The place was really welcoming and warm, honestly! Just a small touch like curtains or blinds would make it feel even more homely, but overall lovely.

We absolutely love this holiday park! Its perfect for dog owners like us, super welcoming and friendly. The lodges are stunning-so modern and spotless. The views of Blencathra are breathtaking, especially at sunset. Its peaceful here, just a short drive to Pooley Bridge and Keswick. Weve already booked our third trip and cant wait to come back again soon! Definitely a place well keep returning to.

We loved this little gem! The cottage feels so secluded yet is close enough to shops and cafes. The hot tub was a real treat and the underfloor heating kept us cosy. Rob, Sharon and Bonnie made us feel really welcome. Cant wait to return for a longer stay!

We had such a lovely time at Flusco Wood in the Lake District. The on-site facilities were spot on-clean, well-kept and just right for relaxing. The staff were genuinely friendly and helpful, especially Cliff, who made sure we knew how everything worked in the cottage. We were really lucky with the weather in March, which made our trip even better. There are some cracking walks nearby and the location is just perfect-peaceful but still close enough to visit all the main spots in the Lakes and Penrith without any hassle. Overall, it was a fantastic stay. Wed definitely recommend Flusco Wood and would love to come back sometime!

We booked this place for our honeymoon and honestly, it was fantastic. The lodge was spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated and really comfortable - we couldnt find a single fault. The hot tub was a real highlight and we loved that staff came to clean it every morning, which was a nice touch. Everyone we spoke to was so friendly and helpful, especially when we had a little problem with the gate. The location is great too, easy to get to Pooley Bridge, Keswick and Ambleside. We had an amazing week and are already planning our return trip!

We recently stayed at Flusco Wood for four nights and honestly, it was a lovely experience. The sites so peaceful, perfect for relaxing away from the hustle. The lodges and caravans were spotless and had plenty of storage, which was really handy. The staff really went above and beyond, especially with our friend who has mobility issues-they were super helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. We were also waiting on a birthday parcel that we missed on the first day, but the team sorted it out quickly and kept it a secret-great service! Well definitely be coming back, its a cracking holiday spot!

We recently stayed here for a couple of nights with our dog and partner and honestly, it was fantastic. The lodge itself was spotless, modern and really comfortable. The hot tub was a real highlight - so relaxing and private, with no worries about anyone walking past. Only thing is, the smart TVs didn't connect to the internet, so we were limited to Freeview, which was a bit of a letdown. Still, overall, a great weekend and super welcoming for our dog too!
