The properties also boast luxury kitchens with modern appliances, comfortable living and dining spaces, and spectacular views across the Cumbrian countryside - all available at all times of the year for a peaceful retreat.

Onsite, there is a reception for plenty of tourist information and a shop that's open every day between April and November, for all those last minute bits and bobs you should need including a variety of food and a range of gifts from around the area. There's also a launderette which offers washing facilities, a dryer and ironing should you need to do any laundry during your visit, as well as a drying room for wet boots and coats, a boot wash facility, and a dishwashing area. For the kids, there's a children's play area as well as plenty of walks around the park.  A current replanting programme is to attract wildlife to the new trees and plants in the area.

The only issue was the amount of flies that were constantly in the lodge
Karen, West Lothian
Date of stay: 6th August 2018
We stayed at Flusco Wood for 3 nights. The lodge was really lovely and clean - it was so nice to have beds made up and a welcome package for that cup of tea on arrival!
The hot tub was up and running and instructions provided were very clear.
The site was very clean and tidy and the location was easy to find.

Our only issue was the flies - I know the doors are open and this is inevitable but they were in excess and some sort of fly prevention - like the silent plug ins could help this situation.

We would highly recommend and would return for another visit.

Date of stay: 29th June 2018
First time at Flusco Wood and found the site and location excellent. The accommodation was of a much higher standard than other holiday parks I've been to. The lodge / luxury caravan we were in had very good views of the North Lake hills and all the other units seemed to have similar views. Staff very friendly. Felt like a family run business. If there had been few extra containers for cooking items in the microwave I would have given a 10 for equipment. Would happily recommend.

Date of stay: 22nd December 2017
It was a great site, the lodges were brilliant, very modern and clean. Only thing that could of improved cleaning would to have access to a hoover throughout the stay as there wasnt really anything to clean with. However a little out of the way from anything. We had our puppy with us in a dog friendly lodge however she was able to get out due to the fencing around the lodge and the dog walking enclosed part wasnt very enclosed.
Donna, Doncaster

A fantastic lodge in beautiful surroundings, the staff were so helpful and we were so impressed with everything. We are already planning our return visit!
Elizabeth, Halifax
Date of stay: 9th October 2017
Exceeded expectations. The lodge was spotless, very well equipped and warm. The staff were friendly and welcoming, readily available if needed but not intrusive. The site is well maintained, very quiet and the views are spectacular. Travelling with our dog we were particularly impressed with the enclosed dog walking area, a real piece of doggy heaven. Not having spent much time in the north lakes area we found the location of the site fairly central for everything we wanted to see and do and easy to get to from the M6. The best break we have had in a long time.

only thing I would add would be a dog gate at the side of the cabin, and perhaps darker carpets in the dog friendly cabins with a rubber mat for the rainy days just help the staff keep the place even more tidier.

Fun Days Out near Flusco Wood

about 8 Miles
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
about 15 Miles
We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
about 15 Miles
Rydal Mount & Gardens are wonderfully situated between Lake Windermere and Rydal Water offering breathtaking scenery. The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. There is also a gallery and a tearoom. Discounts are available for group bookings.
about 17 Miles
This is a museum and art gallery in one and will suit those looking for an educational and cultural day out.  You can explore the fantastic art collection including Fine Art, Decorative Art and Textiles.  If you love nature then this aspect of Tullie House will appeal. The museum holds large and important collections of zoological, botanical and geological material. And for lovers of history there is plenty to wet your appetite here. Tullie House collects a wide range of historic materials including objects, ephemera (printed material), photographs and associated information files.  We think this museum and art gallery are excellent value for money as well.
about 32 Miles
Here at the Wildlife Oasis you can really get up close to the animals and experience a mix of exotic wildlife and hand son displays.  See butterflies, birds and even bats flying around.  You don't have to plan your visit according to weather either with the tropical hall and butterfly house undercover.  Sunny days are ideal for some of the inhabitants however with the monkeys and Lemurs loving to sunbathe.  The mission of Lakeland's Wildlife Oasis is to engender and foster an interest and appreciation of the natural world which, in our belief underpins wildlife conservation; and, where possible to contribute and encourage contribution to the conservation of wildlife and wild places.  You know that you are helping with this mission if you choose to visit.
about 32 Miles
Located in the Milnthorpe area of Cumbria we love this local attraction.  With an eclectic mix of fascinating wildlife and hands on displays this centre is educational as well as fun.  You can wander around at leisure admiring the exhibits which range from chameleons to computers. Some of the most threatened species are kept at the park as part if international breeding programmes.  Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs which are great value for money.  There are discounts for pre-booked parties of 12 or more.
about 36 Miles

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals.  Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area.  Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos.  At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed.  Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.

about 38 Miles
Housing the most fascinating collection of Birds of Prey in the North East this centre is definitely worth a visit if you are staying in the Kielder Water area. Located in Falstone it's easy to get to and makes a great day out for both families and couples.  As well as seeing the amazing birds you can learn all about the captive breeding programme and the excellent work being done there.  Some of the highlights of the day might include watching a Falcon stoop down from the skies at over 100mph and admiring the grace of the Eagles, Kites and Hawks.
about 39 Miles
Happy Mount Park has attractions for the whole family including several play areas, a miniature railway, crazy golf, putting green and trampolines, there is also a paddling pool where the little ones can splash around in the summer and a café where the adults can relax with a drink. During the summer months and especially during school holidays live music can often be enjoyed.
