Relaxing holiday. Lodge 3 Deer park nice enough but lacking a few things ( oven gloves ) Lodge was clean but not perfect as I found rubbish behind tv when i plugged it in .. fans in bathrooms need wiping / cleaning. Finlake is a lovely park in a good location Mostly friendly staff

We had a four bedroom lodge and it was beautiful, however, when we first arrived it was cold in the lodge as the boiler had gone out. We called the reception and they said they would send someone down, which they did and we got it started again. The hot tub was only on 17 degrees!! The maintenance man said he didnt know anything about hot tubs so we called reception again, no one turned up so we called again and still no one turned up!! So we couldnt use the hot tub for the first night. We could also only get the tv through the internet which was very hit and miss.

3rd time at Finlake, normally stay in signature orchid accommodations, but we tried one of the lodges. We were assigned Lakeside 9, and it was fantastic! It had everything we needed for a home away from home. We enjoy a little bit of a more luxurious accommodation on our trips and this fit the bill perfectly. The sunken hot tub was a win for us, and loved the feature of doors from the bathrooms leading straight out to the hot tub area; though when we arrived there was an awful smell coming from under the decking, which turned out to be a dead rabbit. However, a lovely chap from the maintenance team came straight out and climbed underneath to get rid of it, and even came back a few hours later to check all was OK and brought some crystals to help cover the remaining smell. Only negative about the accommodation was that this specific model had the twin room directly off from the living room, so when we put our daughter to bed in the evening we had to keep very quiet. Park facilities wise, swimming pool is aways a loved by my daughter and we also tried a meal at the Retreat restaurant. Bit expensive, but the food was delicious! Sad to see gift shop missing in the shop on site, and stock bit bare, but did not spoil our stay. Can't wait to come back!

Caravan itself was amazing and nice touch not to have to bring bedding and towels. Also nice to receive a box of tea, coffee, sugar, washing up liquid, sponge, cloth and tea towel. The only negatives were the shower was extremely slow to drain, the towel rail holders kept falling off and the kitchen drawers were stiff to open.

Lodge itself was OK. Somewhat style over substance and lacking little things like hooks near ensuite shower to hang towell, coat hanger near door or shoe rack etc. No working vacuum as one in Lodge was faulty...cleaning staff aware as they were using a brought in Henry themselves. Biggest let down was matress. It was most uncomfortable matress I have slept on in 4 visits to this resort and left both partner and I with bad backs.

My husband & I took our 2 grandchildren on holiday, the caravan was spotlessly clean, very tastefully decorated and had all the necessary things needed for a weeks stay.Particularly liked having a small dishwasher / freezer, it really helped with meal planning. Beds were very comfortable, lovely pillows ( very important) & lovely hot shower. The full size gas cooker was a bit on the slow side, maybe a air fryer would be more economical? But overall we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay.Thank you

Stayed at 37 Oak Rise a 2 bedroom cabin/chalet surrounded by oak trees and with great views across the valley. The cabin had a large balcony, a full kitchen - including full cooker, microwave, fridge and dishwasher - and well-sized living-dining area. Bedrooms were compact but comfortable. Overall the cabin was a bit dated but that was reflected in the reasonable price. Wetroom/showeroom could have done with a squeegee to help dry it after showers!

Our holiday was great. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful and the activities staff were super engaging and genuinely looked like they were enjoying themselves as much as we were. The only negatives I would mention (and they are minor), there weren’t many paths along the roads of the site so although walking on the grass and moving out the way of cars wasn’t a problem for us, those with younger children, buggies or wheelchairs may not find this acceptable. The walk to the stables being an example. The only other downside was the lack of evening entertainment or things for teens to do once the paid activities were over and the swimming pools had closed. There were 2 pool tables in the bar but that was it so if you haven’t come prepared with anything to do and aren’t planning on spending the evening off site there is very little for them to do. Other than that we had a fabulous week and will definitely be returning for a cheeky adults only weekend.

A lovely stay - lodges perfectly kitted out. Kids loved the pools and exploring - such a large yet quiet site. Super Staff helpful, calm and over the top with politeness. The only suggestion I would make is for a flat reasonable space for playing football which stays open while it is light say 9pm for older kids or teenagers.

Finlake never disappoints. Not been since all the new spa/pool etc added. Still lovely setting and with private lodges. The food at The Hub & The Retreat was faultless! Great to have eat in or takeaway options! Shop was well stocked (and even a huge variety of gins to choose from! The only downside was that our lodge was very basic and not cleaned particularly well before we arrived. Could have done with some selves in the bathrooms to keep all our toiletries on. Hot tub was not in good working order either. Lovely & warm but jets didn’t work. Overall, we’d definitely be back!
