Close to many of Suffolk's coastal towns, Claywood Retreat Lodges sit in peaceful woodland and offer a range of activities from golf to clay pigeon shooting. Nearby Southwold has a fabulous seafront, a busy harbour and some great shops, while a walk around the fens at Darsham Marshes nature reserve could produce sightings of reed warblers, otters and water voles.
Each lodge overlooks a stunning 9-hole golf course and the park has access to the High Lodge Leisure club where there's a restaurant and bar and fishing in the lakes. Darsham has several village pubs, including The Fox Inn that serves good food every night - and if you want to buy freshly caught crab and lobster, head to Aldeburgh, where you can also enjoy some lovely walks.
These stunning lodges all have private outdoor hot tubs. Claywood Two is beautifully designed and furnished to a very high standard. It has a master king size double room with an ensuite two person walk-in shower, a contemporary and spacious open plan lounge/kitchen, a large flat screen TV and gorgeous chunky sofas, perfect for relaxing into.
You can hire a rowing boat on The Meare at Thorpeness or relax on a guided trip up the River Alde at Aldeburgh, where you can also amuse yourselves with live concerts, brewery tours and fine dining.
