A perfect family getaway. Will definitely go back. Finally somewhere of high standards that also allows dogs. They have since changed their website for Oak Spa to max of 4 people however we were a family of 5 with a dog and there was plenty of room for an extra put up bed in the twin room which they did kindly before our arrival.

Date of stay: 26th June 2017
Great place for a holiday, we weren't disappointed. Lovely setting on the farm. There were three in our party. One fit young adult, two elderly adults, one of which is disabled the other infirm. For us two olduns the layout of the kitchen was a minor irritation with the storage cupboards placed too high. I'm glad we chose one of the lodges with a hot tub. Come rain or shine, day or night myself and my back benefited from its warmth. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend the lodges for a relaxing holiday.
Steve, Ibstock

Date of stay: 14th April 2017
Had an amazing time on holiday here, although a bit far into the countryside, it meant that it was a true "escape" and left my partner and I feeling truly relaxed. There were also many possible activities less than an hours drive away so the location of the lodge was perfect, not to mention all of the cute farm animals that you can see on the fields near the lodges! It was a lovely holiday and would recommend to friends and family :)
Neilssa, Redruth, Cornwall
Date of stay: 7th April 2017
The lodge was a perfect size for us, 2 adults, 1 child and a dog. Could easily have another child. Open plan was ideal for our family with a hot tub which was the best on the front. Really cosy evenings.
William, Bournemouth
Date of stay: 3rd April 2017
My Girlfriend and I were lucky enough to be treated to a week in the Chestnut spa within Avallon Lodges. From the word "go" our needs were met by Ross who was often on the grounds seeing to his daily land tasks.
There was a real feeling of seclusion from the "real world" which was so refreshing in this world we live in. The family dogs Wilf and Wynne that roam the grounds are such a lovely addition and although they are not allowed in the lodges they are often waiting outside to greet the day with you.
From the local farm shops to visiting the shore there is plenty to fill the days with, that is of course if the tempting Jacuzzi on your own back porch doesn't tempt you instead.
I would certainly recommend this place to anyone and everyone that is looking to relax, refresh and remind yourself of the beautiful countryside.
Emma, Somerset
Date of stay: 3rd April 2017
Lovely lodge and the surroundings are very peaceful and quiet. The lodge was small compared to ones we had stayed in before but had everything you needed. The hot tub was fantastic and was wonderful sat in it at night listening to the bats flying around. If you are not fond of dogs then this possibly wouldn't be right for you as the owners dogs do roam around the lodges, they are friendly enough however our little boy is scared of them.
Callum, Sandhurst
Date of stay: 27th March 2017
I was extremely pleased with Avallon Lodges the location was beautiful and the lodge was lovely. The lodges don't carry sound very well so it felt like we were on our own even though there were four other guests. The hot tub really makes it a relaxing holiday. The only thing that let them down was the shower was not very good. It was not very powerful and came out very slowley and the kitchen was a bit small. But all in all an excellent locationa and a fantastic holiday.
Trevor, Falmouth Cornwall
Date of stay: 13th March 2017
great time would do again if any deals came up

Date of stay: 28th October 2016
We love these basic but warm, cosy and homely lodges set in beautiful and peaceful surroundings. Beech Lodge is great for the seasoned self caterer, nature lover and adventurer in this beautiful part of Britain. The children aged 13 and 11 were delighted to see old friends Wilf the retired collie and Billy the young cat again. We also loved to feed carrots to the donkeys and loved the setting with the dairy and sheep farm nearby. The morning walk around the lake with our dog Bess and Wilf were beautiful with the Autumn colours in full glory. The hosts are amazing. This is our second visit and we have booked up for October 2017 already. For exploring the area, if you don't mind driving, the West Cornish Coast between Bude and Newquay are within easy reach and the South Cornish coast is just over an hour away.
Hazel, Newton Abbot

Date of stay: 30th May 2016
Staying in the accessible lodge it was difficult for my parents to stay in the double bed when it was blocked on 3 sides - not ideal. They ended up taking the twin beds - also not ideal.

Date of stay: 30th October 2015
The lodge was very clean except for down the side if the shower where the was dust and dirt and cobwebs. The settee had lots of stains on it too. You were given a dustpan and brush to clean up but as most of the lodge was carpeted a Hoover would have been helpful
Julie, Stourbridge
Date of stay: 12th October 2015

Stacey, Nr Abergavenny

There were a few areas that needed a little attention, some of the cutlery was slightly dirty, bathroom door handle loose, bathroom light stopped working, kitchen blind was broken (we fixed that one) but nothing that caused any problems during our stay.
Jackie, Gloucestershire
Date of stay: 10th July 2015
We had a brillant break at Avallon Spa the lodge was spotless, we all loved the hot tub and the boys had a great time fishing. The owners we lovely and every day had regular visits from the friendly Wilf & Wynn our dog loved playing with them and enjoyed the space & freedom. If you like a peaceful relaxing holiday this is the place for you and is a ideal base only 15 minutes from Bude & 1 hour to Newquay. We would definitely recommend Avallon and look forward to returning next year.

Date of stay: 27th February 2015
Absolutely loved the lodge. Sofa had marks all over it, but I think that's more to do with the material of the sofa. The sofa wasn't very comfortable but again, probably down to it being a bed as well. Other than that, I can't fault it.
E L, Salisbury
Date of stay: 20th February 2015

Nice and compact, cosy lodge with all the basic kitchen facilities....no washing machine or dish washer but this lodge was cheaper than any other lodges so worth it....

We really enjoyed our stay in Chestnut Spa and were impressed with the facilities, especially the hot tub. The lodge itself is very spacious and everything had been considered to make our stay more enjoyable and relaxing. Would definitely visit again and have recommended to friends and family.
Alison, Cwmbran
Date of stay: 8th September 2014
The lodge we stayed in was suitably adapted for dad who has limited mobilty. plenty of space for a wheelchair or in our case a scooter to move about indoors and the wetroom with bench also worked for us.

The lodge was clean and confortable and plenty big enough for us [4 adults] with space for an additional 2 on the sofa bed if required.

The lodge had everything we needed.

Simone, Haverhill Suffolk
Date of stay: 1st August 2014

The lodge was clean and comfortable, however the oven and dishwasher were not quite efficient enough. The lodge was on the end giving more privacy in the hottub than any of the other lodges. We had a very relaxed holiday, in a peaceful and comfortable environment.
Caroline, Southampton
Date of stay: 7th April 2014

We came here for my 21st birthday for the week, we stayed in Chestnut lodge which included our own hot tub, although the weather the first couple of days was horrendous the rest of the week was lovely.
