This must be our fifth visit to Sunhill Lodges we love the place, the location and the quality of the lodges. I note the issues I raised last year were sorted where we stayed but I also noted that some of those who had stayed in the same lodge recently had raised faults which were still present when we arrived such as the fridge internal shelf loose (broken) and bedroom remote control for TV doesnt turn the TV off. We also noted that no slippers were provided with the dressing gowns and the only cloth we had to clean up things was dirty which we threw away and replaced. We dont like leaving things dirty when we are lucky to stay at someones holiday home so some cleaning spray and cloths would be handy to be considered next time. That is the only reason I have marked the cost down as this is described as luxury thats all. Anyway we will be booking again as its still a very nice place to stay. Please dont take the review as negative its not.

We stayed at Sun Hill Lodged and it was a 1630 check in, the lodge was open and we didn't see any staff. There was a note saying if we wanted any additional logs to call before 1600...We tried calling Saturday morning to no avail. So we had to go to try and source logs. The hot tub was tiny and it was very cozy with 4 adults in. Other than that the stay was fantastic, the views were phenomenal, the wildlife was stunning. The cabin was beautifully designed and had all the facilities you could ask for. We especially like the en-suites and not having to share a toilet with friends (haha). They had a really pretty welcome basket waiting for us, it had a drinks voucher for a local restaurant, which unfortunately was fully booked. It had bread, milk and butter which was really

Loved the location of this cabin. It is beautifully decorated and has so many little extras that really add to your stay. We really enjoyed the view from the hot tub and watching the race horses train.

The only issues are storage if you are storing food there. We we eating out most days so wasnt an issue for us. The fridge shelf in the door is not very secure so you have to be careful closing the door otherwise the contents fall into the fridge. Didnt ruin the holiday and not a massive issue.

We stayed in Pivotal, one of the original log cabins. It is a beautiful log cabin, but getting a little tired. The beds are super comfortable, one of the bedroom walls though had a lot of dust and cobwebs - most unusual for Sun Hill. The bathrooms are lovely, however they are both showing signs of some black mould around the shower trays. This could easily be treated. The sofas look amazing, but they are actually quite uncomfortable - there is a ridge below the seat cushions that digs in your legs.Kitchen utensils could do with updating as some are old/blunt/broken.We have learned over the years to take our own BBQ tools, as there are never any there. On arrival we decided to have a go in the hot tub, but sadly this was a Luke Warm tub - someone had turned the temperature down, so we had to get out as I was shivering. We adjusted the temperature and it was fab the rest of our holiday. Also on arrival there was a dreadful smell coming from one of the bathrooms, but my husband, being a dab hand at diy, managed to sort it (problem with one of the traps). It took several hours though for the smell to fully disappear.Despite the above, this is a fabulous place to stay - it is a pity we cant book Saturday to Saturday any more though as only having 20 days holiday - a day is wasted on travelling.Something the owners may not realise, is that over the years, the bushes, etc have grown very large in front of the log cabin which obscure the view.A big plus for Pivotal is the solid covering over the hot tub, which made it much more pleasant to use in the bad weather as it was sheltered and we had no rain dripping on us.????Reading this, it may sound negative, but these are just all small things and we did have a lovely stay at Pivotal.????

Thoroughly enjoyable week in Spindrifter, which is a more compact lodge than others on the development. Very clean and well decorated lodge, lovely bathroom and well equipped kitchen. Worktop space in the kitchen area is limited but there are all the amenities you will need. In the lounge the settee is more comfortable than the bucket chair but there is a large useful footstool and good sized TV. The bedroom is attractively set out and the bed is extremely comfortable. Storage is limited tho as there is no wardrobe, just hangers from a wall rack and bedside furniture. Great hot tub on covered terrace, fab views of gallops and surrounding countryside. Comfortable outside furniture. Spacious gated and fenced garden with a pond- so lots of wildlife to watch. Altho the garden is fenced it is not totally secure for dogs as its not wired. Bedding and towels are provided as well as a few essential kitchen items- tea, coffee, sugar, oil salt and pepper. A welcome basket containing bread, butter and crisps is also provided. We would return.

Great lodge all mod cons and smart tv with Netflix was a bonus! Comfortable bed and whilst there are no actual wardrobes there is space for hanging clothes up in utility with enough shelves to put things on. The washer/dryer was very useful after long walks to get clothes washed and tried and ready to go again.

Everything was beautiful , the lodge only didn't score a ten as it did need a little maintenance that was just wear and tear, but this didnt effect our holiday that much

Alborada is a comfortable well equipped lodge, with a good bed and nicely designed living space. We love the hot tub and sitting outside enjoying the views across the valley. The lodge was clean and we felt safe with their response to the Covid 19 pandemic. The lodge makes a great base for us to go out on walks in the Dales and the whole set-up is relaxing and trouble free. It was a great holiday thanks.
