Date of stay: 29th June 2018
We had a lovely stay the mini lodge had everything we needed. We were able to visit lots of places stirling castle, cambuskenneth abbey ( James 3rd buried there), gartmorten dam, falkirk for wheel and kelpies ....

The staff are very friendly and welcoming.
Helen, Grimsby
Date of stay: 18th June 2018
The bathroom window and door were hinged on the wrong side. That's just a matter of preference though. Couldn't get on with the spring loaded stools but that's a matter of preference too. Could have done with the kitchen being where the lounge was and the lounge in the kitchen space only because we could have done with a bit more work tops. But overall loved it and very comfortable and had everything we needed.
Yvonne, Rosewell Midlothian

Clean and comfortable mini lodge with everything needed for a few days relaxing break. Only downside is a small work surface in the kitchen area that makes it difficult to wash up. Wouldn't stop me staying again though.

Date of stay: 6th February 2017
Mini lodge was amazing, not mini at all. Open plan living room/kitchen then small wall partition to double bed. Separate room with bunk beds. Travel cot could be placed within living area or at end of bed but not in bedroom, not really suitable for buggies as no pavements. Lodge had a fridge but no freezer, provided towels, tea towel, toilet rolls, washing up liquid, and all usual crockery and utensils (and obligatory bottle opener!). Loads of storage. Immaculate and very modern, looked brand new and a bit like an ikea show home. Tv with free view and DVD player but no BBC channels for some reason. Fab restaurant on site but no separate bar, so could only really go if ordering food - best to book as very busy. Need a car to get out and about although good location for walkers/hill walkers I believe. Stunning scenery and fantastic base for Stirling.
Thomas, Dunbar

Karen, Sheffield
Date of stay: 2nd May 2016
A 3 bedrooms lodge designed to sleep upto 8 people could do with a little more comfort seating in lounge. Only 2 settees.... This is the only fault I could find.
But a hot tub on the huge decking area would be a perfect finish!
Ivan, London

The lodge was clean, well equipped and spacious. We were a fairly numerous group (3 adults, 3 children and a baby) the children were delighted to have a tv in every room. It was a nice touch to have the washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets. There is a wee play park on site and lots to do nearby. Will come back again.

Date of stay: 20th April 2015
The lodge was the best we have stayed in. The only negative was the lack of basic essentials in the kitchen. The following were missing:

- chopping board
- decent knives
- pizza cutter
- potato peeler
- oven glove

These aren't the type of things you expect to need to pack to go to self-catering accomodation.
Emma, Kirkcudbright

Fun Days Out near The Woods

about 25 Miles
M&D's, Scotland's Family Theme Park is a "must do" day out if you are in the Strathclyde region. The fun attraction is set within 20 acres of beautiful Country Park and offers rides, shows and activities for the whole family to enjoy. Besides the outdoor rides the site is also home to Amazonia - Scotland's only indoor Tropical Rainforest where visitors can meet loads of exotic animals. There is also a large indoor soft play area and an amazing glow in the dark bowling alley, so plenty to do if the weather is bad. During December Scotland's largest Grotto with animated Christmas scenes can also be enjoyed.
about 25 Miles
Smoo Cave is a popular attraction which can be enjoyed all year round but visitors should wrap up warm during the winter months.  This spectacular limestone sea-cave in Sutherland is the largest in Britain and is simply spectacular. The cave was formed by a burn that runs down into the rear chamber, as well as erosion caused by the sea. Guests can take the path from the car park which runs right through the cave. Boat trips are available in the summer months and are an excellent way to fully appreciate the cave from all angles.
about 26 Miles
Active Kid Adventure Park is the place to go if you have energetic children and are looking for a fun day out. The site boasts many attractions including a Zip Line, Target Football, Go Karts, Play Areas, Pony Rides and Crazy Golf. There are also some friendly farm animals to meet including a docile Donkey. Family tickets are just £20.00 and season tickets are also available.
about 29 Miles
James Hamilton Heritage Park has been awarded 4 Stars by the prestigious Visit Scotland Board and is a must visit attraction if you are in the area. The site features a gorgeous 16acre loch offering an exciting range of watersports including Canoeing and Windsurfing. Children and adults can enjoy taster sessions of most activities. The site also has two adventure playgrounds and a fleet of fun boats. The area is also abundant with wildlife and has a Bird Sanctuary.
