Warden at Sherwood Hideaway
Nine of our lodges have shower over bath. They all have a family bath room with shower/tap mixer. The 3 bedroom lodges have 2 double bedrooms and 1 twin bedroom - the twins can be made into a double by prior request.
The park facilities sauna etc are available at Thoresby Hall Hotel at a discounted price.
There are cycling and walking trails way marked and starting from The Shberwood Hideaway.

Our family's stay at Sherwood away was a complete and utter disaster, a stark contrast to the relaxing break we desperately needed with our 12-week-old baby. This experience was a masterclass in how to ruin a family holiday. From the outset, we were misled. We specifically confirmed a travel cot would fit in the master bedroom, yet arrived to a lodge that was not only different from the advertised images but also completely unsuitable for our needs. The initial lodge was cramped and nothing like the photos, and the promised cot space simply didn't exist. The "solution" was equally appalling. We were moved to a replacement lodge that was a catalogue of errors: a strong pet odor (despite not booking pet-friendly), a blocked dishwasher, a leaking shower, and a dangerously leaking ceiling. The state of the accommodation was unacceptable, clearly demonstrating run-down and poorly maintained lodges. However, the accommodation issues were overshadowed by the utterly appalling customer service. Alison, a receptionist, was exceptionally rude and dismissive. She verbally attacked me, making false accusations and dismissing my concerns with a level of aggression that left me in tears. Her behavior was deeply unprofessional and incredibly upsetting. Promises of callbacks from management were consistently ignored, leaving us feeling completely disregarded. This is not a family-friendly environment. The misleading information, the substandard accommodation, and the dismissive, abusive staff made our first family holiday a nightmare. We were made to feel like a burden, and the stress caused was immense.Sherwood away is not worth the money. The lodges are not as advertised, the customer service is dreadful, and it is certainly not a place for families. If you are looking for a relaxing, family-friendly getaway, stay elsewhere. You will regret wasting your time and money on this establishment.

We got bumped over to the Birches lodges because of a problem with our original one, but honestly, we loved it! Huge thanks to the staff - The Birches felt like an upgrade and we really appreciated the change. Definitely a great experience!

So, we checked in and at first glance, the place looked lovely. The lodge had a nice wooden feel and the views were pretty stunning. The rooms were a decent size too, so no complaints there. But things started to go downhill pretty quick. We wanted to relax in the hot tub on Friday night, but none of the jets worked - after about 10 minutes, we gave up and got out. The next day, I called reception and they sent someone to look at it. Turns out the motor was broken and the water was full of dead skin and dirt - pretty gross, honestly. They said they couldnt move us because the boss wasnt around and just told us to use another lodges hot tub whenever we liked. Walking over in the freezing cold and pitch darkness in swimwear? Not exactly ideal. We did it once, but that was enough. The hot tub we used was much cleaner and way hotter, with jets actually working, so that was a plus. On Saturday, we tried to use the oven, but only the grill was functional - baking jacket spuds was quite the challenge. The fridge barely cooled anything, so forget about keeping drinks cold. The site itself looked lovely, but it was a shame that all the walkways, fields and forests were closed off - wouldve been nice to explore. Honestly, I wouldnt have booked if I knew the hot tub wasnt going to be working properly - that was the main reason we chose this place!

It's a dirty. We went to 2 lodges and both were just as dirty and unclean. It appeared no one had done any cleaning at all, apart from change the bedding and towels. Cleaning standards should be high with the amount of changeovers and people that come in and out of these lodges. Such a disgusting place to stay. The staff are very good and looked after us, however the cleaners do nothing or very very little. I would not recommend

We had a lovely, laid-back week here. Relaxing in the hot tub while watching shooting stars was truly unforgettable. The location was perfect for exploring National Trust sites and other historic spots, plus there were towns nearby for some shopping. The lodge itself had everything we needed, though the TV had no signal, but luckily we could still watch Netflix on our account. The only minor thing was the dog walkers at night, shining torches around the back of the lodge when we were in the hot tub-gave us quite a fright!

We had a really lovely stay at this lodge. The decor was modern and well-kept, making us feel like we were in a fancy hotel, especially with the slippers and robes provided. Its perfect location meant we could easily get to all the nearby attractions. Ending our days in the hot tub was a real treat!

We had a fantastic stay at the lodge! It was spotlessly clean and super cosy - perfect for our week away with the dogs. The location was great and the enclosed decking was a real bonus, letting us keep the patio doors open without worries. The bed was incredibly comfy and the Egyptian cotton sheets made a real difference. Honestly, we couldnt find a single fault and would definitely recommend it to others. Well be back for sure!

We had a lovely stay at this lodge! Its super cosy and well equipped, with nice touches like dressing gowns for the kids and treats for the dog-really thoughtful. The hot tub was a highlight, absolutely fantastic. Only downside was the lack of access to nearby woodlands, so we had to drive to explore. Still, a great break!

We recently stayed in this dog-friendly 2 bed lodge after having a one-bedroom there before and its just as lovely, if not better! The space is more spacious and everything was spotless, with all the facilities youd need. The private decking and hot tub overlooking the grass and woodl and are a real highlight, with plenty of wildlife around. We werent bothered by the other lodges nearby, even when some were occupied. Parking was straightforward too. Overall, a really nice place!

We chose this place mainly because it was pretty close to home and Ive been caring for my dad full-time since my mum passed last year. Honestly, we just wanted to relax and unwind after a long week. The hot tub was a real letdown - it was freezing the entire time and despite checking it, it never warmed up. The surrounding area of the hot tub was also quite dirty, which was a bit off-putting. We only saw the lady checking in on us after five days, which felt a bit odd since we were there for a whole week. The gate latch was broken, so we had to keep the dogs on leads to stop them escaping. When we left, I stripped the beds and found the quilt was filthy. I really wish Id saved my money on this trip.

We had a lovely stay at the cabin and honestly, the place itself was great. The only things that could be improved are minor. The main bathroom could do with a proper shower - maybe a high-up shower head over the bath, alongside the current one, which was handy for rinsing the dog. The kids had to use our bathroom, which was fine, but Id prefer not to do that if we were visiting with friends. Also, there were no power sockets in the double bedroom, which was a bit of a pain with a teenager around. Still, overall, we had a fantastic time. Just some small suggestions to make it even better!

The lodge was quite peaceful and warm, which we loved. However, some things could do with a refresh-knives were broken and theres no bottle opener. Still, comfy beds made it enjoyable.

We stayed at this lodge recently and overall, it was a decent experience, but there were a few things that couldve been better. The place was spotlessly clean, which we appreciated and the view from the lodge was really lovely - super peaceful and perfect for relaxing. The shower was actually quite nice, too and its handy that there are takeaways nearby for food delivery. The location was great, right near the woods and we enjoyed walking around the other lodges on the road. However, we were a bit disappointed to find that there was no clear access to the forest - only one sign saying no access, so we assumed we could walk straight in, but that wasnt the case. Plus, the sign in the lodge about a disease in the forest meant we couldnt take our dog on proper walks in the woods, which was a shame. We did find some paths around other lodges, but it wasnt quite what we expected. When we arrived, we were told wed get wine and chocolates, but there was only dog treats, which my dog cant eat - bit of a let-down there. Also, the hot tub wasnt exactly pristine - it was full of leaves, so it clearly hadnt been cleaned. The doors were a bit stiff and noisy at night and the power points were poorly placed. Still, we enjoyed the view and the peaceful setting - just a few things to improve on!

We stayed at the chalet recently. While the place was okay, it had a strong smoke smell, especially in the main bedroom wardrobe, which was a bit off-putting. The linen was lovely though! There wasnt enough crockery, so we used the dishwasher a lot, but thats just a minor thing. The decking and hot tub got covered in leaves from nearby trees, which was a bit frustrating. Theres not much happening on-site, but plenty of lovely spots nearby. Wi-Fi was a bit patchy but manageable.

The cabin was lovely overall, but a bit more attention to cleaning wouldve made it perfect. Also, with five of us staying a week, fresh towels wouldve been nice - we probably couldve asked, but it shouldve been standard anyway!
