Rudyard Lake Lodges are located just outside of the peaceful town of Leek in Staffordshire and are surrounded by stunning moorlands. The lodges offer the perfect base for those looking to explore the region and enjoy a range of outdoor activities including sailing, fishing, golf and boating.

Staffordshire has much to offer as a holiday destination. For families a visit to the amazing Alton Towers theme park is a must. One of the largest theme parks in the UK Alton towers is crammed with rides and attractions to ensure a fun day out for the whole family. We also recommend a visit to the British Wildlife Rescue Centre.

Rudyard Lake Lodges come highly recommended by previous customers and the reviews are very impressive. It is the luxurious extra touches that make a stay at Rudyard Lake lodges so memorable. All of the lodges have private outdoor hot tubs, furnished outside space for alfresco dining and open plan living space with TV/ DVD player, and fully fitted top of the range kitchen with dishwasher.

Smaller families may opt for the Meadowview or Woodlandview Lodges which sleep 4 and have one double and one twin bedroom. Pets are permitted in the Meadowview Lodge. For larger groups the Heronsview or Watersview are ideal and sleep 6 people. Both of these lodges have one double and two twin bedrooms. The Heronsview is rather unique in that it comes with use of a 3 man Canadian Kayak which is perfect for exploring the lake.

Date of stay: 21st May 2018
Great lodge - everything we needed, clean and very well equipped. Thoughtful touches on arrival such as wine, sweets and treats for the dog. Hot tub was sparkling clean and a fabulous place to chill out in the evenings.

Date of stay: 23rd March 2018
Lovely lodge and stunning surroundings, however for the 5 days we were there there was building work being done on the other lodges. There was a lot of people and vans around doing work which was off putting and we were not forewarned about this! Also the Hottub did not maintain its temperature very well therefore would get cold after a while, the staff were very friendly and said we could contact them if this happened however by the time we got into the hottub at night it would be too late for this. The lodge itself was cosy and comfortable, it was just a shame about all the noise! When initially phoning the contact number provided from Hoseasons with a few queries the man I spoke to was very rude and essentially said "well what do you want me to do about it" and said that he didn't know why he's number was listed as he didn't really do much with it. The lady who greeted us when we got there was very friendly and approachable, and she text us the last of the directions to prevent us getting lost which was helpful. They also allowed us to check into the lodge a few hours earlier.

A nice relaxing stay apart from the cockeral waking me up at 5am but I shut the window and it helped to block him out! Rudyard lake definitely has the scenery but Henelle Hall is the best accommodation in our experience

Had a great stay here. Very well stocked and comfortable lodge in peaceful location just up from Rudyard Lake near to the Peak District and Staffordshire Moors. Perfect for walks from the door and a great place to relax and get away from it all. Conveniently located near to Rudyard Hotel, and a short drive from Leek, Macclesfield, Buxton and Bakewell. Lovely owners who were very welcoming and helpful.

Master bed could do with updating as it was a bit saggy and sheets appeared quite old.

Heronsview is very well maintained with beautiful furnishings. It was very clean and the hot tub is checked daily. I could quite happily live here. Only downside is no WIFI add that and it would be perfect.

Date of stay: 22nd May 2017
We had a fantastic time at Meadowview in May. The owner called us on the day of arrival to give additional directions and then greeted us when we arrived at the lodge.

The lodge is clean and tidy with a homely feel. The owners of this particular lodge are lovely and add many little touches (welcome card, chocolates by the beds and small bottles of wine on arrival) which in our opinion really make a difference.

This is a pet friendly lodge with the advantage of an enclosed private garden.

We will definitely be returning for another stay.
Dan, Audley

The holiday was very relaxing made all the better for the accommodation. It was very clean comfortable and private. The hot tub was a welcome bonus after some lovely, but strenuous walks. There were two bedrooms, one with a king size bed and the other with two large singles. I would recommend a stay here.

Date of stay: 24th March 2017
Meadowview Lodge is lovely. It had everything we needed for our stay and more. It was really cosy and comfortable. On the day we arrived it was immaculately clean. The wood burning stove was amazing, as was the hot tub. All the furniture was comfortable, it was like a home away from home. The owners of the lodge were really friendly and helpful. One of (if not the) best lodges we have stayed in.
Nigel, Sandiacre

It was a lovely mini break we didn't want to leave. The lodge was very clean and spacious. The view was lovely and the hot tub a luxury. Couple of things need changing or updating like the toaster and cooker, but everything else was great. The extra touch of a welcome card and little prosecco was sweet.

Date of stay: 15th August 2016
Stayed here for the 2nd time however in a different lodge from last year. The surroundings yet again blew us away, its amazing to wake up to such peace and quiet of a morning. The lodge was beautiful and spacious and with 4 adults and 3 children we never once felt cramped. It was spotless and beautifully kept. This is by far the best of the lodges available due to it's position and privacy. Will defo be booking again for next year.

Date of stay: 11th July 2016
We had a great time at the lodge with lots of nice walks to do around the area. This lodge has just been taken over and we feel that the new owners will make some great changes with the modernisation of the bathrooms etc. They couldn't do enough for you and they where super helpful and wanted to know of any improvements/ suggestions to make future guests vacations even better. It was even the little touches they did that made the holiday for us, for example a card and a rose where waiting on arrival to welcome you to the lodge and then owner popped down for a meet and greet etc. There is a little shop and some animals on site which our 5 year loved and you can also go on a train ride within walking distance from the lodge. We also visited Alton Towers and the Wildlife Animal farm where you could go in the enclosures with Lemars, Wallaby's and extremely large rabbits.

We stayed at Heronsview for my friends 21st Birthday there was 5 of us (girls) staying at the lodge we absolutely LOVED it.

We cant wait to book again for my birthday! :D as soon as you walk in the lodge you will understand why, there decorated beautifully very clean modern and very big! in a great place very quiet, neighbours were quiet the hot tub was great and clean it was just the perfect weekend away with the girls definitely recommend!!

And also if you follow instructions correctly to get to the lodge they are very easy to find!! you can walk down the field and there is a path to Rudyard lake.

It was a home away from home and we never wanted to leave! :)

we stayed in herons view and it was lovely. Gorgeous location. Really relaxing holiday. The overall cabin was nice. Very clean and warm. Although we didn't have a oven all week we had to cook on the hob. We was told the man was coming to fix it. But he never turned up.
I would recommend herons view
Keith, Rainham, Kent
Date of stay: 5th June 2015
Couldn't fault the location or the lodge, but the access 'road' to the property could certainly be improved.
Michelle, Sunderland
Date of stay: 23rd May 2015
Perfect....however, needs a new fridge as our food wasn't kept cold.

Only a minor problem that can be easily resolved.... Fab holiday and accommodation x
Ellie, Spalding
Date of stay: 18th May 2015
I loved it here, the lodge is not far from local town but at the same time well enough away to be very private.. Large was lovely, clean and full of everything we needed.. I am 100% sure I will be returning here

Confirmed Guest, Livingston
Date of stay: 17th April 2015
Lodge lovely ,clean ,spacious, plenty storage. furniture all in good condition. Hot tub an extra bonus! No faults with lodge except the road into it.
Jane, Winchester
Date of stay: 10th April 2015
Lovely lodge - personal touch with owner ringing week before with directions and details about the lodge. The lodge and surroundings are lovely and the lake stunning - helped with the weather being so hot and sunny ! Would definitely be booking to stay again. Maybe only comment would be attention to detail - bedside light in king room didn't work; no towel rail - it had obviously fallen off the wall. Little things....but then again if noone tells the owners these things they don't know !!! Def recommend and hope to go back soon.
Jayne
Date of stay: 27th March 2015
just a minor that the dishwasher was broken or it would of been full marks
Kerriann, Wolverhampton
Date of stay: 23rd March 2015
There is only one suggestion I would make is and that would be to supply more wood for the fire, there was only enough for one night.
Carla, Stoke
Date of stay: 16th March 2015
As a group of 6 girls we stayed at the Heronsview in Rudyard Lake. The lodge was well stocked and a good size. The hot tub was checked everyday by a maintenance man. It was excellent value for money and all 6 agreed that we would highly recommend it
Denise, Shepton Mallet, Somerset
Date of stay: 28th February 2015
Lovely lodge in a beautiful setting - would recommend others to stay if you want a lovely quiet break then this is it.
Emma, Cheshire
Date of stay: 25th January 2015
Meadowview lodge is not easy on the eye from the outside but inside it is very homely. The wood burning stove is fab and very cosy, but more logs need to be provided as we had to go a local garage to buy more. Given the price of the lodge there are features that urgently need updating, such as the TV (it still has a back on it!!) and the sky box is very outdated. Also given the price of the lodge it would be nice if the owners at least provided a pint of milk and some coffee on arrival. We have stayed at other lodges that are much more modern than meadowview, unfortunately this one wasn't really to our taste.
Maria, Stoke On Trent
Date of stay: 27th December 2014
Absolutley spotless ! We stayed here for xmas and it was lovely a tree was put up for us with gifts . We have 3 children and a small dog and the cabin was more than big enough for us the beds were comfortable with pristine bedding nice furnishing and everything in there that you need ie washer , dryer , iron, ect there only thing i will say is that the tvs are quite dated and need replacing and the ones in the kids bedrooms are not connected to freeview so can only be used for dvds , also a tv in the master bedroom would be nice also the hot tub seems to be quite aged and coukd do with replacing in my opinion
all said we had a lovely time and made for a magical setting , we would definitely go back i just hope for the prices you pay that the changes are made to the tv and hot tub , enjoy !
Bev, Swadlincote

Date of stay: 27th October 2014
Was a superb area lots of walks and things to do.
very nice setting.
steam train a little expensive but great little journey none the less.
cobbled path to the cabin needs a little work so take care when driving through this.

the local towns are a short drive and very well presented.
people around lake are very friendly and helpful.

bottom line id love to go again
Alan, Lossiemouth

Keith, Rainham, Kent
Date of stay: 12th September 2014
Try as I might, I was unable to find even the most minor fault with the accommodation. It was simply perfect.
My only criticism was not with the lodge itself but with the poor access 'road'.
Darren, Newcastle
Date of stay: 30th August 2014
drop a few points on furniture & fittings because the dvd player and tv remotes did not work. but apart from that love it
Neal, Market Deeping
Date of stay: 16th August 2014
Heronsview is a very well presented lodge with all amenities listed in good working order. It is very well equipped with kitchenware and living comforts. It was very clean on arrival and communication with the owner (though we didn't meet them) was very timely and supportive. We had a very pleasant holiday with the kids and dog. Outside the lodge there is ample space for football, cricket, frisbee and ball throwing for the dogs. This was an unexpected bonus to tire all out! If you stay at Heronsview you have the use of a kayak which is stowed outside the lodge. However, the trek to the lake itself is a few hundred metres and via a steep slope. The kayak is quite heavy and not something you can do every day. A trailer or device with wheels would be a good recommendation for future holidaymakers. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed the holiday/accommodation and would recommend.
Frank, Leeds
Date of stay: 9th August 2014
No batteries in the remote control ? Why. No logs for the wood burner!.
Sharon, Port Talbot
Date of stay: 2nd August 2014

Although the cabin itself was fine and the few issues we had were sorted straight away by the very nice owner, be warned, if you have any mobility issues at all that the path leading to the doors is made of loose grey slate wich was a serious issue for us as we were told that access was wheelchair friendly. I definately is not.
But on the whole we had a great time and would stay there again without the family member with mobility issues.
Carole, Stoke On Trent
Date of stay: 19th July 2014
It was a lovely clean and well equipped lodge. The hot tub was wonderful.
Our only little niggles were that the washing machine was not working too well and, as we were there for 2 weeks, we did need to do some washing. The lack of a tumble dryer was a bit of a disadvantage too but fortunately the weather was good so we were able to use the rotary dryer in the garden.
We would book this lodge again....it gave us a beautiful peaceful place to be to recharge our batteries and just enjoy each other's company away from the hustle and bustle of city living.
John, Teesside
Date of stay: 19th July 2014
The lodge was perfect in all respects, home from home very comfy tidy and the hot tub was a perfect way to end your day.
Jacqui, Wakefield
Date of stay: 27th June 2014
The Lodge was excellent, well furnished and comfortable. The cleanliness of the outside decking was not so good and the reason we have given a lower score. The main difficulty with the property was trying to get into the drive with a car, a very narrow turning/road for a larger car.
Sam, Durham
Date of stay: 13th June 2014
Bunk bed room is not in a great place in the lodge for children to sleep in as right in the living area. So we had to spend most our time on a night outside.
Angela, Hull
Date of stay: 16th May 2014
The Lodge was very nice and had everything you could possibly need. The hot tub was great and well maintained, lovely setting.
Daniel, Deeside
Date of stay: 9th May 2014
Really good accommodation, chairs around table are rubbish need replacing other than that really good
Rasa, Bridgend

The house wasn't very clean, you can see red souse marks on a window, floor needed some moping, etc.
Tina, Cheshire
Date of stay: 28th April 2014
We had a fantastic 3day break during April. The Accomodation was brilliant clean and comfortable. The hot tub being under cover was great as we could use it whenever we wanted to. We all said we would be going back. The owners of the lodge were brilliant. We had a small problem which was sorted out immediately . If anyone wants a relaxing break beside a beautiful lake. Rudyard lodges are for you
Hannah
Date of stay: 21st April 2014
A well equipped lodge, could do with more seating as two sofas for a 6 person lodge wasn't comfortable. Spacious bedrooms and good bathrooms, useful to have two. The hot tub needs attention it is not in full working order but is lovely and warm.
Sharon, Poole
Date of stay: 11th April 2014

Date of stay: 4th April 2014
I read reviews prior to staying at Meadowview and I was a little anxious but I have to say I could'nt have asked for anything better. Everything you needed was within the Lodge so it really was like a home for home. It really exceeded my expectations and I was gutted I hadn't booked to stay longer.
Vicky, Bradford
Date of stay: 24th March 2014
The Heronsview Lodge was lovely, we couldn't believe how modern it was inside and so first impressions were great. We had no problems at all with cleanliness and found all rooms clean and comfortable. The hottub outside was great and very relaxing after a day out. I can say for myself and the other 5 people on our visit are definitely considering going back! Our only minor issues were with toilet rolls, we were only left 2 rolls of toilet paper which we thought was definitely not enough for 6 people. Also we had a few technical faults and found the aux cable to play music in the rooms was a brilliant idea but the aux did not work very well and was very temperamental! Only small issues so still very highly recommended!
Mark, Derby
Date of stay: 17th February 2014
This lodge is very nice with comfortable, spacious accomodation and lots of thoughtful touches. Quite high tech with Sky TV and piped music in most rooms.
Easy to find and with good secure parking; overall a very nice place to stay.

Disappointed things were not the cleanest- but as we were leaving a gent was going in to paint - so I imagine things would get a good clean too- cooker area was needing some attention! Hot tub was not the best I have been to!

The perfect first family holiday to take our little girl on! Lodge was super clean. Absolutely beautiful location. Easy access to places to visit. Rudyard Lake is beautiful! Hot tub was amazing! Lots of little finishing touches in the lodge really made our holiday. Thank you for such a wonderful first family holiday ๐Ÿ˜

This is a really unique opportunity to see the fantastic work going on at this centre.  The purpose of the British Wildlife Rescue Centre is to treat and care for injured wildlife which cannot be released into the wild.  Many of the animals are brought to the centre by members of the public or the RSPCA.  Visit their website to see the picture gallery and to find out how to help if this is something which interests you.  There are also regular fundraising events such as the Sponsered Leg Wax.

Out of all of the Go Ape! courses the one in Cheshire is the most spread out and it takes staff ten minutes to patrol the site on bike - which gives a good indication of the size of this place.  If you're looking for an adventurous and memorable day out then Go Ape is highly recommended.  Trek through the treetops, swing between the trees and enjoy zip wire rides all as part of your experience.  This attraction opens every day from the end of March to end October and is open on weekends in November.  Go Ape Cheshire is closed every Tuesday except school holidays.
