We loved our stay! The place was super cosy and had a modern vibe. The only thing was the leather sofa-so we ended up watching TV from bed, which worked fine. Overall, it was a really beautiful spot, no complaints at all!

We had such a lovely stay at this cottage! The area was peaceful and perfect for unwinding. The hot tub was a real highlight and the place was spotless with all the essentials. Plenty of walks nearby and we truly enjoyed our time here. Highly recommend!

Date of stay: 29th April 2025
We stayed at The Lodge recently and found it very tidy overall. The bed was incredibly comfy, which was a plus after a long day. We appreciated the complimentary tea, coffee, sugar and biscuits - a nice touch! The only downside was the parking, which was quite a walk from the lodge, especially with all our luggage and it was pouring when we arrived, so that was a bit of a pain. Still, it was a lovely stay.

Date of stay: 23rd April 2025
We really enjoyed the lodge overall. The only letdown was that the smaller 1 bed lodge had a shelter over the hot tub, while ours was completely open, which was a bit disappointing.

Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff, loved it!

We stayed at a lovely lodge, super clean and really well presented. The only hiccup was trying to figure out the touch screen oven. Being not exactly tech-savvy, we spent ages fiddling with it and in the end, just ordered a takeaway instead! Itd be great if they had some simple instructions or a quick guide for folks like us who arent so comfortable with modern gadgets. Still, overall, a great stay!

We had a fantastic time! The lodge exceeded our expectations - it was so spacious and spotless. Being in a group of four, we appreciated how comfy and airy it felt. Definitely a place wed return to without hesitation. Highly recommend!

Date of stay: 9th March 2025
Overall, we had a lovely stay at the treehouse. The only downside was the WiFi didn't quite reach the hot tub area, so no music downstairs. The hot tub itself couldve been better; some jets werent working and the handle was broken, which is understandable given how much theyre used. Despite that, wed definitely stay here again - its a cosy spot with a lot of charm!

Lovely stay, super friendly hosts and that jacuzzi really made our trip special! Definitely coming back.

We had a lovely stay here! The staff were super friendly and made check-in a breeze. The reception and bar areas are sleek and modern, which really sets the vibe. Our lodge was fantastic, especially that free-standing bath - it was the cherry on top! Definitely coming back.

We had such a lovely stay here! The owners are genuinely warm and thoughtful, making us feel really welcome. The cottage itself is adorable, with its charming half-timbered style and a super strong shower that was much appreciated. The cosy kitchen and comfy bed made everything feel perfect. Parking right outside was a huge bonus and we enjoyed peaceful walks across the fields to Thaxted, which is full of character. Cleanliness and warmth were spot on too!

Nice weather made it a great day.

Date of stay: 5th February 2025
The place is gorgeous, super clean and obviously well maintained - almost feels new! Only downside is the late check-in and early checkout at nine, though.
Emma, Newport
Date of stay: 2nd February 2025
We had a lovely stay at the lodge. It was super clean and the beds were really comfy, which made a big difference after long days. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. If I had to suggest one thing, itd be a parasol on the deck - its a total sun trap and we couldve used some shade! Plus, some extra towels for the hot tub would be handy. During the heatwave, a fan in the bedroom wouldve been a blessing, but overall, a great place to stay!

The owners are genuinely lovely and friendly, really going above and beyond when the power cut happened because of the storm. The cottage was spotless, warm and super well-equipped. Our dog loved the enclosed garden and we enjoyed the hot tub! Definitely recommend.

Date of stay: 29th January 2025
We decided to squeeze in a last-minute getaway and booked a four-night stay at this place and honestly, it turned out to be a much nicer experience than we expected. The lodge was well-equipped with everything we needed, including a dishwasher, microwave, washer dryer and hobs - perfect for a comfy stay. The surrounding area is lovely, ideal for leisurely walks and Dovedale is definitely worth exploring. The staff at reception and in the restaurant were super friendly, with a special shoutout to Caroline - she was lovely, always smiling and helpful. That said, we did notice some minor issues that keep it from being perfect. Our lodge wasnt spotless; there were spider webs around the windows, which was a bit disappointing. We also asked for a couple of instant coffee sachets and tea bags, but were told wed need to buy them from the shop - a bit stingy, we thought. It wouldnt hurt to just give guests a couple, would it? Another thing was the TVs - both were pretty outdated and smart features like Netflix or BBC iPlayer werent available, which was a shame. Plus, the restaurant menu on the wall in our lodge was outdated; staff confirmed it hadnt been used for a while, so its a bit puzzling why its still there. Despite these small grumbles, we had a lovely holiday overall. Would recommend!
