Beautiful place and was perfect for what we wanted. There was only a few small things as to why we did not give a 10. There was no luxury toiletries that where advertised, there were none at all. It says that there is complimentary wi-fi, there is not. When opening the dishwasher the wood underneath kept popping off and we had to keep putting it back. The freezer draws where hard to open as the freezer really needs to be defrosted and the dressing gowns had marks of dirt on them. Also some of the stitching on the bedding was coming apart so there was holes in it. There was also tools left outside the cabin (which we thought would be moved) which left a jigsaw blade exposed.
Apart from this we enjoyed our stay and the hottub was amazing as well as the view.

The view from the hot tub over the donkeys and alpacas field was so relaxing. Idyllic location and high end accommodation. So many lovely little touches from the toiletries in the immaculate bathroom to the complimentary bottle of wine and the kitchen and lodge facilities made it much better than I expected. We needed to leave a day early but I contacted Maureen who could not have been more helpful, I dropped her a text 15 minutes before leaving and she came straight over and returned our deposit and checked wed had a lovely time. I can not recommend this place highly enough.

Date of stay: 15th January 2018
beautiful lodge could not fault it. only down side was organisation of staff.

when we got there no info about how to get into the gates. had to find a number and call to which we got told wait and someone will get you. about 20mins later some came and told us to follow them. She let us into the lodge was very friendly but then failed to leave us a key to our lodge. we had to call up saying we had not key and knowone at recepetion. we got told they would drop one in. not untill day 2 did we get a key. so had no choice but to leave lodge open when we went out.
We also was not told how to get in and out of the gates still we called numbe rup again (very rude staff on the end) told us a code. failed to tell us there was a fob we could use.

the staff on the end of the phone was very rude to the point where we felt like we couldnt ring again. and ask where our missing key was.

Then when we was in bed another staff member just walking in the lodge with 2 other people renting a Lodge saying "ohhh why are you in here, i have these two people in here" which we was very put out by with them just walking in.

overall more organisation need to improve and attitude of guy on phone.

The lodge itself with the hot tub was in a lovely setting with the donkeys and alpacas in the field behind and lovely countryside. However, we really didn't feel welcome by the staff member who was on the phone to someone else while checking us in and was not very helpful when we wanted to check out at 8am and told us we would have to wait an hour for him to come in to work. I've never stayed anywhere where you can't check out at any time in the morning before the designated time. In the end he let us drop off the keys- but if you really can't check out early they should tell you.
The lodge itself was fine. No DVD player which it was advertised to have (or at least, we couldn't find one). We didn't need one.. But shouldn't be advertised if there isn't one. There was a washing machine and tumble dryer and I thought 'great, I can dry the towels after the hot tub etc as we only had one towel each... But the tumble dryer was full to the brim with damp towels. The dishwasher was also still full of the previous occupants washing up (albeit clean) and there was an open bag of chips in the freezer which I felt probably should have been thrown out. The headboard had come away from the wall in the bedroom which made it look a little unkempt.. But generally the lodge was well presented and tidy.
The site itself is still a building site which we didn't know. The noise didn't disturb us but we did have to pass it every day. Furthermore, the site has signs for a 'woodland walk' so we followed this hoping for a little trek but this path literally goes into the woods and stopped so I was a bit disappointed with that. I guess maybe that is still under construction too.

So, all in all- lovely lodge but could do with a few changes to just make it top notch and I would have liked to have felt more welcomed. I'm sure when the site is finished it'll be fantastic.

Cleaning required to washing machine, tumble drier and oven which was filthy. Alex(manager) sorted it out. Good lodges, well equipped and comfortable . Semi detached so some neighbour noise. Hot tub appreciated after walking in the cold.Enjoyed looking at the donkeys and rabbits(wild). Would stay there again but check lodge more carefully on arrival.
