We needed a relaxing dog walk break and it was just perfect. Lovely quality place, with pubs and eateries nearby. Miles of open fields and off-road trails - the dog didnt want to leave, honestly!

We really enjoyed our stay at Goddard's Mead. The owners, Rob and Sharon, have done a fantastic job converting this historic building with such care. They gave us a warm welcome and Bonnie was adorable! The location is perfect for exploring Essex; we loved wandering around Thaxted and nearby villages to soak up the history and charming architecture. Honestly, its a lovely spot for a relaxing break and wed definitely recommend it to others!

We had an amazing stay at this cottage! The place is super well-kept and has everything you could need. There are loads of lovely dog walks just outside, which was perfect for us and our pups. The host was really friendly and easy to chat to. Meeting the farm animals, especially Penelope the pig, was a highlight. Well definitely be coming back - great value and a proper peaceful getaway!

We had such a lovely stay at Goddard's Mead! Rob and Sharon really put a lot of effort into preserving the charm of this historic place and theyre genuinely welcoming hosts. Bonnie made us feel right at home too. The location is perfect for exploring Essexs charming villages like Thaxted - so much history and beautiful buildings around. Its definitely a spot worth visiting if you want a peaceful, comfortable break. Highly recommended!

We had a fantastic weekend here for my mums birthday! The staff really went above and beyond, setting up the balloons I sent - it looked brilliant. The lodge was perfect, modern but cosy and the hot tub was just what we needed. On-site restaurant, lovely views, walks, shops - well be back!

We had a lovely stay! Sharon and Robert really made us feel at home, which was much appreciated. The place was spotlessly clean, comfy and perfect for Archie with secure surroundings. The location was ideal for walks and exploring Thaxted and nearby villages, which are absolutely charming. We definitely left feeling refreshed and relaxed, so it was just what we needed. We had a wonderful stay at this charming cottage, tucked away on a working farm but still very private. Robert and Sharon are such lovely hosts, making us feel really welcome. The place itself is surprisingly spacious, with a well-equipped kitchen and a comfy bed that we didnt want to leave. The garden is perfect for dogs, completely secluded and nicely furnished. There are plenty of walks nearby and Thaxteds restaurants like The Star and The Maypole are worth a visit. Wed definitely stay again!

We just got back from a great four-night stay at this charming cottage. The owners are really friendly and laid-back, always around if you need anything but never intrusive. Our dog loved the big fenced garden-it was perfect for him. The place had everything we could possibly need, including a fab hot tub and a barbecue we used one evening. Were already telling friends about it and plan to come back soon. Thanks for a lovely break!

We had an amazing stay! The tent had everything we needed and was super comfortable. The spot was just right, especially with the hot tub area catching the afternoon sun all evening - perfect for relaxing. Having toilet facilities inside the tent was a real bonus and the little hideaway bed was a hit with the kid. Only thing to watch out for is it can get pretty warm in there, so bringing a fan is a good idea. Would definitely come back!
