We had a fantastic stay! The cottage was spotless and well stocked, making everything easy for us. Loads of lovely dog walks nearby, which was a big plus. The host was super friendly and quick to respond. Meeting the farm animals, especially Penelope the pig, was a real highlight. Can't wait to come back - great value for sure!

We had a lovely stay! Sharon and Robert really made us feel at home, which was great. The place was spotlessly clean, comfy and secure for our dog Archie - he loved it! The location was perfect with loads of nice walks nearby and Thaxted and the surrounding villages are such charming spots to explore. Honestly, we left feeling totally recharged. It was a relaxing and enjoyable week, for sure!

We really enjoyed our stay, it was just what we needed to unwind. The lodge was perfect and spot on for what we wanted. Only small thing missing was an outside socket for our speaker, so we could listen to music in the hot tub. Would definitely return!

We had a lovely stay at this charming cottage. The owners were incredibly kind and helpful, making us feel really welcome. The place itself is beautifully kept, super cosy with a lovely strong shower and a comfy bed that we didnt want to leave. Parking right next to the cottage was a bonus and it was well heated and spotlessly clean. Perfect for peaceful walks to Thaxted - wed definitely come back!

Overall, we had a lovely stay, especially in the rooms and showers which were really nice. The only downsides were the kitchen floor being a bit wobbly and the cutlery not quite up to scratch-those knives should really cut! The scissors falling apart was a bit frustrating too.

We loved staying at this charming little cottage! Its perfectly tucked away for some peace but still near local shops and spots. The hot tub and underfloor heating in the bathroom were real treats. Rob, Sharon and adorable Bonnie made us feel so welcome. Cant wait to return!

We loved the peaceful vibe here, the surroundings are just lovely and really calming. The place was spotless and comfy, with all the essentials. Wed probably avoid peak times because of the play area nearby, but mid-March was perfect. Plenty to explore around, especially Lake Vyrnwy and Powis Castle. The Nags Head Inn nearby is perfect for a sunny pint and bite.

We really enjoyed our stay at the lodge. It had everything we needed and the outdoor space was super secure, which was perfect since we took our dog along. We always feel better knowing he's safe outside. The place had a charming rustic vibe, with plenty of wooden touches that made it feel cosy. Sure, some fixtures looked a bit tired and could do with a refresh, but nothing that spoiled our stay. One thing to note is the bathroom setup-it's advertised as having an en-suite, but really, its just a shower behind a curtain in one of the bedrooms, with only one toilet in the main bathroom. Not a big deal, just something to be aware of. Overall, we were happy with everything and would definitely come back. Just a bit of updating on the fixtures and itd be even better!

We recently stayed at the Mountain Lodge and honestly, it was fantastic. The place was spotless and the views were absolutely breathtaking-rain or not, we couldnt get enough. The hot tub was just what we needed after some lovely canal and riverside walks, all without needing to drive anywhere. Highly recommend!

We recently spent a lovely few days at the Murray Lodge with the family and our two dogs. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and the place was spotlessly clean. The lodge was really spacious, making it easy for everyone to relax and it was warm right away since the heating was already on. The hot tub was preheated and ready to go, which was a real treat after a long journey. The kitchen had everything we needed - pots, pans, utensils, fridge, freezer, even a dishwasher, so cooking was simple. The electric heaters and fireplace kept the place cozy and WiFi along with a smart TV meant we could unwind comfortably in the evenings. The cabins are spaced out nicely, giving a real sense of privacy and peace - we felt like we had the woods all to ourselves! The only hiccup was the shower pressure, but the owner was quick to sort it out with a plumber and theyre even upgrading the bathrooms. There was a little confusion about check-out time - the welcome pack said 10am, but we were told 9am when we left. Still, overall, it was a fantastic stay and were already planning to come back!

6 of in Squirrels Drew last weekend - the cabin was amazing and the story about how it originated was amazing left us all a bit emotional - possibly the gin though ? the surroundings are magical - the hot tub wow ?? The staff - well what can I say ????? Over and above ?? A beautiful place to go to and be at peace - please if you get the chance to visit grab it - perfect retreat - thanks y'all for everything x

A beautiful and peaceful location, lodge had everything we needed and had a wonderful relaxed break. Only 1 thing to note accessibility the lodges are spaced around a very steep and windy road.

This was our fifth visit to Penllwyn Lodges. Its a peaceful site with the lodges set in a wooded area.
When we first visited years ago the fishing lake did have fish in it but in recent times this seems to have changed. I asked at reception about the fishing and was told they no longer advertise it as a fishing lake.

Perfect little cabins and beautiful Jacuzzis. Absolutely loved the area and the surrounding countryside - its outstanding!!!! Just bring your bug spray haha as it is in a woodland. Very slight noise from the road during the daytime but absolutely no complaints at all!
