We needed a little getaway for the dog and it was just what we hoped for. Lovely place, close to pubs and cafes, with plenty of fields to explore. The dog really didnt want to leave, bless him!

We just got back from a lovely week at Goddards Mead. The cottage had everything we needed and was super well stocked. The hosts were really friendly and welcoming. Even though its on a working farm, it felt like a peaceful retreat. Loved it!

We had a fantastic stay at the bungalow, it really went beyond what we expected. The place was spotless and had a lovely, open feel which made us feel right at home. Its true there was only one photo online, so more pictures wouldve been helpful to get a better idea before booking. Still, we were really happy with everything when we arrived!

We visited recently and found the place really lovely. It was quite peaceful, so we get why some areas like the games room were shut, but the kids wouldve adored it! A few cobwebs on the lights, but overall, everything else was spotless and we really enjoyed our stay.

We really enjoyed our stay! The studio had almost everything we needed, which was great. The only thing missing was a hairdryer, but thats a minor quibble. Wed suggest adding some plastic or wooden cooking utensils since the metal ones might damage the pans over time. Overall, a lovely place!

We stayed at the bungalow and found it to be really spacious and cosy. The decor is charming and suits the village vibe perfectly. There were a few marks on the walls from other guests, but honestly, thats pretty normal. Overall, we loved it!

We had such a lovely stay at Goddard's Mead! Rob and Sharon put a lot of effort into beautifully restoring this historic building and it really shows. They were incredibly welcoming from the start and Bonnie was adorable. The place has everything you need for a comfortable, relaxing break. The location is perfect for exploring Essex-definitely worth taking a stroll around Thaxted and the nearby villages to soak up the history and charm. Highly recommend!

Theres plenty of dog-friendly walks just outside the door, which was perfect for our furry friends. The host was super friendly and quick to reply. Meeting Penelope the pig and the other animals was a real treat. Well be back for sure!

We ended up in this bungalow and it was a real find! Close to the parking, spacious inside, lovely furnishings. The kitchen had everything we needed. The enclosed patio was perfect for our dog and little ones too.
