We had such a lovely stay! The owners are genuinely warm and caring, making us feel right at home. The cottage itself is adorable, with its charming half-timbered look and a really powerful shower that was much appreciated after a day out. The cosy kitchen and comfy bed made nights restful. Parking right next to the cottage was a real bonus and its spotlessly clean. Great walks nearby to Thaxted, with its pretty houses and windmill, made it perfect for us.

We had a fantastic time at this cottage! The place is really well looked after and has everything you could need. Plenty of lovely walks for the dogs just outside the door. The host was super friendly and quick to respond. Meeting the farm animals, especially Penelope the pig, was a highlight. Definitely coming back, great value! Highly recommend.

We just got back from a four-night stay at this cottage and honestly, it was really lovely. The owners are super friendly but never intrusive, which was perfect. The fenced garden was great for our dog to run around safely. The place had everything we needed, including a BBQ one evening. The hot tub was definitely a highlight! Were already telling friends about it and would love to come back sometime. Thanks for a great break!

We had a wonderful stay at the cottage! The setting is so peaceful, surrounded by stunning farml and and even some lovely horses. The owners were super friendly and really attentive, making sure we lacked nothing. Its perfect for anyone wanting a quiet, relaxing retreat. Wed definitely come back!

We really enjoyed our stay! The pod was spotless and looked brand new, with all the essentials like a big microwave and a decent fridge freezer. The mattress was a bit firmer than we usually prefer, but overall, very comfy. Well be back!

From the moment we arrived, Rob, Sharon and Bonnie made us feel so welcome. The buildings been beautifully restored, respecting its history, which we really appreciated. Goddards Mead is perfect if you want a peaceful stay - super comfy and well-equipped. The location is spot on, nestled in a lovely part of Essex. We definitely enjoyed exploring Thaxted and the surrounding villages; theres so much charm and history in the area. Highly recommend!

We had a really lovely stay at this place. The setting is so peaceful and private, yet the owners are super friendly and there if you need anything. The hot tub was a great way to relax after a day of cycling - absolute bliss! The only thing to keep in mind is that the cottage is right under Stansteds flight path, so theres quite a bit of aircraft noise. It didnt bother us too much after a while, but if youre sensitive to noise, its worth considering. Overall, a great spot!

We stayed here for a week in July with our two little dachshunds and honestly, it was a lovely experience. The cottage itself is charming and cosy and the hot tub was a real treat-especially during the scorching heatwave, it was so refreshing. The hosts made us feel really welcome; it was nice to see them taking their dogs out each day to the fields. Being close to Stansteds flight path was actually quite fun to watch the planes land. All in all, wed definitely recommend for a relaxing getaway!
