Griffon Forest

Griffon Forest Lodges offer a real holiday hideaway in the heart of Flaxton, York.  Once you have driven up the long driveway to the reception desk you will literally feel like you are in the middle of no-where.  This is partly due to the well designed lodges and mature woodland surroundings that envelope the site.

The lodges are made from natural oak and everything about your stay will be luxurious especially the lodges with four poster beds and jacuzzi baths, not to mention the twin his and hers sinks which are a lovely touch.

The cosy furnishings and cotton bed linen will complement your lodge nicely. Outside the lodge you have some amazing woodland walks right on your doorstep as well as a renowned restaurant called Tykes within walking distance.  Guests at Griffon Forest receive a 10% discount off their food bill at Tykes.

All of the lodges feature an outdoor hot tub, widescreen TV, DVD/CD and well equipped kitchen.  The Gardeners Lodge is a luxury lodge with a four poster kingsize bed, spa bath and outdoor hot tub. This lodge is perfect for couples.  The Poachers lodge is also a good option for couples.  Both the Gardeners and Poachers lodges sleep 2. The Poachers Premier is ideal for special occasions with open plan living, 4 poster bed, new soft furnishings and a 6 ft jacuzzi bath.  You will receive champagne, chocolates and red roses on arrival at this lodge.

For parties of 4 then the Keepers Lodge is recommended. This is a popular luxury lodge with outdoor hot tub, one double and one twin room. The Gardeners Premier Lodge at Griffon Forest is also a good choice for parties of 4.  This luxurious lodge is furnished to a high standard and both couples receive wine and chocolates on arrival.  Finally, the Woodmans Lodge is the largest and could be described as a very spacious and luxury lodge sleeping 5.

Close to this park is Sandburn Hall which houses an 18 hole golf course, driving range and sports bar - the ideal retreat for golf enthusiasts. You can also hire bikes at Griffon Forest reception for a reasonable fee and explore the surrounding woodland this way.

The lodge was beautifully clean and comfortable and one of the most well equipped we have ever stayed in.

We particularly liked the site tv station to check out what the wildlife was up to and when the badgers were leaving their set to come and see us for their supper.

Lovey lodge the bed was so comfortable
Date of stay: 26th February 2018
Curtains a little dated, sofas don't match cushions very fusty. Dusty on top of every bit of furniture. Furniture stuck together with super glue witnesses the work man putting a chair back together with glue in lodge next door to us.
Date of stay: 23rd February 2018
Whilst comfy, the fictures and fittings are starting to look tired.

Date of stay: 12th February 2018
The lodge was spacious enough and had all nessescary appliances and also had complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits. Despite a few of the dishes being quite dirty, the lodge was clean and beautiful. The hottub was big enough for a family of five and was clean and easy to use. The lodge had a room with a stunning four post bed, a room with 2 single beds for the younger children and a single room for the older daughter. The lodge was beautiful and had a lovely outdoor area with a decking, a hot tub, deck chairs, a table and chairs and a barbeque. I would definitely recommend staying in this lodge.

Date of stay: 14th October 2017
Wonderful lodge, but an upgrade to the tv and dvd would have allowed me to give it a 10. There were a couple of lightbulbs out and the extractor fan wasnt working in the toilet when we arrived. They were replaced and fixed within 30 minutes of me reporting them though. So i was very pleased with the quick response. Perhaps a check of the lights and electricals prior to checkin would be a plus. It was clean to me, but my wife is the expert! She picked up on a couple of areas that hadnt been dusted properly.
Michelle, Wirral
Date of stay: 14th October 2017

Claire, Stansted
Date of stay: 13th October 2017
The lodge was very cosy, we had a washer/dryer and dishwasher which was great. The bed was really comfy and nice clean bedding. Few areas were a bit dusty but nothing more than that. We read a LOT of reviews before booking, some were out of date and not as accurate based on what we experienced. Plenty of clean fresh towels upon arrival, chocolate and wine waiting for us, there was central heating and hot water - great water pressure as well! Dressing gowns were a nice touch as well, could put them in the dryer after using the hot tub which was ideal. We found the lodge comfy, everything we needed was there (except washing up liquid -but there is the dishwasher) also milk, tea (although only 4 bags), coffee and sugar in the kitchen. Lots of privacy, nice woodland walks and Tykes was superb, great food and friendly staff. The golf course is also recommended.

Me and my partner absolutely loved our stay at Griffin Forest. It was so relaxing, and we loved how much wildlife there was. I especially liked that you could watch the live webcams through your TV. The facilities were excellent and the lodge was very clean. This is definitely the best lodge that we have stayed in and we'd definitely return again, as it was lovely and reasonably priced.

Date of stay: 11th August 2017
Loved the lodge, was perfect for two couples and a young baby. We had everything we neeed to for a great comfortable stay. Our only comment was that some ideas are looking a bit tired, especially the bathrooms which could do with modernising. The travel cot also needed replacing as it was untidy and broken.
Beverley, Hartlepool
Date of stay: 7th August 2017
It would have been perfect if there was a place to eat that was dog friendly, we could not eat at Tykes due to the poor weather.....it was too cold & wet to sit outside.
I could not comment on the food at Tykes, due to the above , but it was very busy.

The sports bar was friendly, but also did not allow dogs inside, we did eat there twice between showers.

In the lodge there was a really helpful list of dog friendly local pubs, which we went to .

We had a 3 night weekend break staying in Keepers lodge, the lodge was very clean and tidy and lots of space for all the family like home from home. When we arrived it was evening and looked so welcoming all the lights were on and a lovely little extra was a bunch of flowers on the dining table.
Lovely hot tub on the decking which was ready for us to use on arrival.
A short walk to the golf club for a meal, lovely and peaceful stay in a perfect location for a number of days out. We got to see badgers and squirrels outside the lodge. We will definately be coming back again and highly recommend it.

Date of stay: 23rd September 2016
Fabulous location, lodges are just what we wanted. Each lodge is enclosed in a private setting, not over looked. The best feature is the hot tub which is why we chose Griffin a Forest. The wild life is superb, where else can you see the Badgers like this. Loved the 4 poster and can't wait to go back for our third visit. We had lodge 25 which was perfect. We also ate at the golf club and had a very enjoyable meal. Top marks.

I did miss my wi fi but it is available at the golf club.

All you need from a dishwasher to a hot tub. Plenty of towels and dressing gowns. Bed was comfortable and good height. Bathroom exceptional, spacious shower and spa bath. A very liveable space.

Date of stay: 16th September 2016
The Poachers Premier Lodge was lovely. It has an open plan layout and is very spacious for two. The hot tub and spa bath were great and the four poster bed was very nice. It was very well equipped with all you need.
My only issue was the toilet is in a utility room by the front door on the other side of the lodge. It would have been better as an ensuite off the bedroom. But only a small issue and having said that I would stay again.
William, Middlesbrough

Well equipt with everything you could possibly need, spacious, modern and touches of luxury, my only tiny negative is the spiders but you are in the middle of a forest so it's expected!

Lodge clean and spacious and allows dogs. We never saw much sun on our patio area which was the only downside.

Loved this holiday so much, was fantastic 5 stars will defo be back. The lodge was lovely and clean, fantastic location nice and quiet. The best part was hot tub on decking what a fantastic idea. Loved it. Will be back next year!!!

Date of stay: 23rd July 2016
Basic cleanliness okay but lights and door frames spiderwebs moss over the tables guttering blocked etc show that a deep clean is due and if not maontained you will have a bigger job.
Fridge worked at the back but not in the door wasn't. The staff don't appear overly interested although do get someone out for blocked drains but good service woukd be a call back to ask if it was fixed.

Excellent holiday. Great stress relief whilst relaxing in the hot tub.
Andrew, Chesterfield, Derbyshire
Date of stay: 18th July 2016
This was a getaway from "kids and life" holiday for Myself and my Wife Carol. Oh, and our dog Izzie!
The weather was fantastic, so has a massive effect on everything.
The forest was far enough away to be quiet and relaxing.
We couldn't see or hear the neighbours, so very private.
The hot tub was HOT! Too hot for us at times. Would have been nice to be able to adjust it to suit our skins. But it was superb. Very relaxing and well maintained.
We did all the walks, forwards and backwards. The "orange one" was the longest and it was amusing to try to spot the tiny signs with the coloured arrows on to show us where to go! The map we were given sometimes bore no resemblance to the actual route, but perhaps that was us! We got lost a few times. But that was half the fun! In fact the first walk we did took us about 6 miles (twice the distance we should have covered) because we missed the arrows, and ended up in a farmers field!
Reception Staff and maintenance Staff were super helpful. DVD's are available to borrow free of charge from there, with a voluntary contribution if desired.
Their ice creams were lovely!
The awards on display in reception were fantastic and well deserved.
Things I would change?
1) More dog poo bins!
2) Make hot tub temperature adjustable for cooler water!
3) Our double bed seemed small in width (ok for honeymooners though!)

We would go a lot more if it was slightly cheaper (loyalty rates perhaps!).
If you want entertainment provided, go to center parcs. If you can provide your own entertainment and want peace and quiet, this is perfect.

How do I sum it up? AWESOME. Can I go again?!! Tomorrow....PLEASE?!!
Sally, Whitley Bay

Date of stay: 8th July 2016
Warm cosy lodge. Bathrooms appear newly furnished everything was clean and tidy.
Very cosy. Main bedroom has lovely four poster bed with en suite. Open plan kitchen, through to dining area and living room.

You are in a forest so the trees do make it a little bit dark even when sunny. But the lodge is very well lit and super cosy.

Sitting in it looking at the wildlife was so relaxing. Staff very friendly. Would certainly like to visit again and this was our second visit.

Date of stay: 3rd June 2016
We stayed in poachers lodge no.17 some fittings and furnutire could do with updating, dishwasher door was stiff and the tablet draw broken, mattress could do with replacing as wasn't the comfiest, some cracks in floor tiles in bathroom. Only little things that definitely did not ruin our stay! Be aware that there is not much cupboard space in the kitchen as all are full with appliances, equipment or cutlery. However lots of wardrobe and draw space in the bed room. Lovely spacious hot tub and spa bath. Sky movies and sky sport channels on the tv. We had a great stay and will definitely be returning!
Michael, Burton Upon Stather

Date of stay: 27th May 2016
had a lovely stay in beautiful location and surroundings. keeper lodge 's kitchen was well appointed even down to having a welcome pack of tea, coffee, sugar and biscuits. there were some tea towels , apron and oven gloves also provided. on the down side two of the dining chairs were rickety and in need of attention. though the standard of cleanliness was high, the extractor fan in the kitchen was desperately in need of cleaning and it did not work either. I did bring both matters to staffs attention at the end of my stay.

Lovely lodge, only downside is if it's sunny the trees stop it reaching the loungers but that's part of being in the forest.

lovely lodge. Any problems were sorted straight away. Disappointed on morning we left the hot tub was emptied just after 8am so couldn't use for last time before check out time of 10am. there were a lot of dust clusters floating about from under/behind doors.
But a great place to unwind and relax.

Lodge was beautiful. Comfortable and bathrooms were amazing - jacuzzi bath and walk in shower.Very private hot tub. Was clean but more attention could be paid to the windows - they were bit grubby. Liked the park and the wildlife - first time I had seen a badger close up!! Great location for York and also less than an hour to the coast - we visited whitby for the day. Overall we loved our stay.

Comfiest bed I have ever stayed in! Absolutely everything you need! Hot tub was lovely and hot!
Katrina, Halifax
Date of stay: 29th February 2016
Lodge was kept well. My only negative comments would be that the kitchen was not well stocked and simple things like oven gloves were not provided and plastic glasses for use outside. The hot tub was lovely but clearly well used so could do with updating as not all the jets worked and looked very tired.

Date of stay: 19th February 2016
Lodges are always clean and well equipped. The stresses of day to day life melt away when you walk onto the deck surrounding by the trees and wildlife. The fact it has a hot tub is a definate bonus, we love soaking in the tub after a walk in the forest, a superb way to end the day. Unfortunately whilst we were away there was a small leak on the gas fire, the staff were notified and it was all repaired, it was handled quickly and efficiently and didn't spoil our holiday experience.

What an absolutely brilliant stay we had! The lodge was perfect, the heating was on ready for our arrival, it was very homely, could not fault it. Washing machine and tumble dryer in the lodge, shop in reception, dvds and games to loan, sky sports, they thought of everything, tea towels, dishwasher tabs, hairdryer, did not need to take a thing! My son even commented it was the best nights sleep he'd ever had! Would definitely stay here again, was a nice ride out into York to visit Bettys for breakfast, and enjoyed a lovely welcome from the Jinnah restaurant located just down the road. A perfect 10. Thank you Griffon Forest best weekend break we've ever had.

Date of stay: 21st December 2015
We came to griffon forrest as a christmas break and it was everything and more than we had hoped for. Although there isnt a great deal to do within the forrest it didn't matter because we came to relax and that is exactly what we did. the restaurant was gorgeous and the cabin was lovely, hot tub was great (although a bit dissappointed it didnt get cleaned during our stay we were a bit reluctant to get in on the 3rd night as the water was a bit murky and lots of leaves and twigs off the trees had falled in, but there was nothing spoiling) overall our holiday was lovely and we will be hoping to return sometime between may and june-depending on prices. would definitely reccomend to people. Infact, when we came back i was telling our neighbours about our trip and they booked to come the following week.
Rachel, Darlington
Date of stay: 4th December 2015
We stayed in a poachers premier lodge, it was lovely and spacious and very clean. The champagne, chocolates and roses were a lovely touch.
We were visited by birds, squirrels, mice and badgers on a daily basis which was lovely to see.
We tried one of the walks which was lovely but it wasn't very well sign posted so we did get a bit lost.
The hot tub was a lovely way to relax at the end of the day and the bed was lovely and comfortable I would definitely return to the lodges.
Michael, Newcastle Upon Tyne
Date of stay: 30th November 2015
Great place to stay, even in the winter like we did. I honestly think staying at that time of year is when you get the true warmth and comfort. Only issue we had was we didn't have access to any of the nature channels so we could maybe catch a badger or two at night. They were definitely about as we'd feel good outside and it would be gone by morning. Although we did highlight this issue on two occasions, nothing was done about it. However that was only a minor issue and overall we enjoyed our 3 night stay. If we stay again, I'd love to over the summer
Deborah, Stafford

Date of stay: 13th November 2015
Really fantastic break with my partner. So nice and isolated so felt completely alone. The only thing I would fault is there is no signal for 3G or wifi which was a bit inconvenient as I was unable to do some work I had brought with me. The hot tub was amazing and the walk in shower. Staff were
very helpful and friendly. The decking is incredibly slippery when wet which I slipped over on when I got out the hot tub. Other then those few minor points it would be a 10! Planning on returning in the new year with friends
Mark, Slip End

Loved it!

I was also told on phone it was the same cabin as poachers premier were we had stayed before !!! If your staff don't know things about the site they should not be working for you , I would have paid the extra to upgrade to premier but she told me the only difference is wine instead of champagne !!
Stephanie, Huddersfield

Helen, Ripon
Date of stay: 28th September 2015
Beautiful lodge in beautiful surroundings!! Although this is high end on the £££, I couldn't fault one thing with the lodge!!

The only negative is that 4pm check in and 10am check out does kind of sell you short on the amount you have paid.

Sumptuous 6ft bath, warm lodge, all the mod cons one needs and excellent hot tub on veranda. Evenings spent in the hot tub, under the stars, with badgers, squirrels and birds sat next to you - magical!!

Lodge was private (other than the neighbours walking past.......once!)
Wild life channels were lovely to watch.
Chocolate and sparkly were lovely (but expected as it was in the package). The biscuits and fresh flowers were added extras that really made it feel special.

Date of stay: 11th September 2015
The accommodation was great! It was clean and fitted out with everything you could need for a self catering holiday with a 2 year old! Like a home from home! (we brought our own travel cot though)
There was fresh flowers and a couple of essentials left for our arrival not mentioned in the blurb (t-bags/loo roll etc) which was great!

We loved the hot tub too - I wasn't sure we'd use it that much but it's such a bonus that it's always at the perfect temperature! (and it was very clean!)

The setting in the forest was lovely and we even saw a badger!
Amanda, Bradwell Village, Braintree, Essex
Date of stay: 5th September 2015
We had a really lovely holiday. We have stayed in Gardners Premier before on a few occassions and found it to be excellent. On this occassion we were slightly disappointed to find cobwebs and dust, also the large sofa in the lounge area smelt of urine in the corner, which was reported to reception on our departure. But all in all we had a good holiday. The friends we went with, who hadn't been before, were impressed with the lodge and hot tub. It's nice to come back to lovely accommodation after a long day touring beautiful Yorkshire.

Great holiday, loved seeing badgers from the hot tub on an evening. Only downside is lack of 3G or wifi on site, it's great to get away from it all but I do think a total lack of Internet is a downside in 2015.

Date of stay: 5th June 2015
Our cabin was the best of the best. Everything in what you would need. They even provided us with tea, coffee, sugar, biscuits and milk on arrival on top of the chocolate s and chambers. They provided us with dishwasher tablets, tea towels etc. The bath towels were huge and snuggly. A few cob webs in places but to be fair its in the middle of the forest you should expect that. Although I'm supposed I didn't see any huge spiders.
Daphne, Mendlesham Suffolk

Date of stay: 17th April 2015
The lodge was lovely. We didn't expect it to be without spiders etc, after all its a lodge in a forest. We loved it, it was really a forest lodge and was felt so secluded although it was next door to another one. The furniture okay wasnt brand new or the decor modern, but to be honest we wouldnt have wanted this anyway. Loved it all.
Claire, Liverpool
Date of stay: 17th April 2015
The woodmans was comfortable, clean and spacious, but some of the cupboards could do with replacing as they were very fragile and some were missing handles. But overall loved the four poster bed and felt very comfortable. Really appreciated the biscuits, teabags and flowers a lovely touch.

Date of stay: 23rd March 2015
The lodge was lovely and was great to chill in the hot tub. The surroundings was good and we saw a badger while we was there. The reception was helpful when we asked about a taxi into York for the day, told us who to use, because they charge a flat fee. We also used the tykes restaurant on the golf course, which was lovely and got 10% off for staying at the lodges.

When booking the break this was the only one left and with taking the dog it was suitable and was thinking because of that reason we wouldn't get the best lodge in the forest... we were wrong it was spacious, clean, everything was as described the hot tub was clean and so relaxing... we hired bikes and had films from the office for the kids from their extensive library, along with board games if needed... when i go again this will be the lodge i try to book again

Furniture ok but kitchen units and living and dining furniture a little dated and worn. Have been a few times now and does feel like due
an update. Have been to others and fittings better quality / up to date.
Bedroom and bathrooms are still ok. Must be 10 years plus old now
Radiator leaked, broken tiles in kitchen. Door latches need update as stick and lose. Other than that had a great time!

Bathroom could do with a lick of paint but everything else was perfect. The lovely warm porch was great for getting coats dry.
Fiona, Weston-super-mare
Date of stay: 27th October 2014
Back of TV remote was missing, which made operation difficult. Also not enough dish washertablets provided for full week.
Perhaps additional towel for floor in bathroom area, as floor was very slippery when wet, and one towel not sufficient for large area, especially if going from shower to sink, husband nearly slipped on wet floor.
Chris, Wakefield

The lodge we stayed in was pet friendly and you really could notice. Gouge marks on the wood floor, scratch marks on the doorsetc... However, this does not detract from the overall excellence of the lodge itself. Highly recommended

Samanth, Sheffield

The cabin we stayed in was excellent for a romantic week end. We booked for our wedding anniversary so was for a special occasion, but would find it a bit too expensive to do all the time. But still think its worth the money. we have already recommended to friends and family
Christine, Nottingham
Date of stay: 15th September 2014

Date of stay: 13th September 2014
Very good. We were lucky with the weather but if it had been a wet week we would have had to sit outside because of the dogs in the rain while enjoying a drink or meal at the sports bar at Golf club. It would be good to have a place undercover.
Ian, Lincoln
Date of stay: 1st September 2014

Date of stay: 29th August 2014
There were a couple of functions on the jacuzzi bath that did not work, there was a head rest from the hot tub missing and the grill to the BBQ was rusty.
For the money that was paid. I would have expected everything to be in full working order.
I would have liked to have seen complimentary toiletries and perhaps 'spa' type slippers to go with the robes.
I would also like to have been able to have had access to internet / wi-fi within the cabin. Other than that the cabin was well equipped, clean and comfortable
Date of stay: 29th August 2014
Lisa, Kendal
Date of stay: 25th August 2014

Allison, Derby
Date of stay: 22nd August 2014
Our lodge had a dishwasher which was in the middle of a cycle when we arrived. We left it to continue its wash and went out. Upon returning to the lodge late that evening it appeared to be stuck in a cycle and was still going. The lodge was like a sauna when we returned. This was reported to reception the next morning, along with the oven door which did not close properly and the problems were rectified the next day.
Chris, Wirral

2nd time staying in a Woodsman cabin, like all cabins its well layed out, clean and very homely.
David, Boston
Date of stay: 11th July 2014
The 6 poachers premier lodges are supposed to be top of the range and are priced as such but the one (No9) we stayed in (for the third time) is looking tired. All three headrests in the hot tub have been removed because they are and I quote "dangerous". Also some of the jets and controllers do not function correctly. The pop-up wastes in both the bath and wash basin need adjusting and the how to switch on the light over the wash basin needs to be listed in the lodge.
David, Workington
Date of stay: 11th July 2014
hope to stay in the lodge again.
Sharon, Tamworth
Date of stay: 7th July 2014
Could have done with a few more kitchen things.
Clair, Sunderland
Date of stay: 4th July 2014
The accommodation was lovely we felt as though it just needed a refresh. The jacuzzi bath was a little disappointing as once we were in it and put on the jets there was a funny smell and a grey line appeared round the bath tub. We felt we had to get out and have a shower which was a shame, this was the only down side we had.
Catherine, Alnwick
Date of stay: 4th July 2014
Bathrooms could do with being updated, the grouting and silicon is looking discoloured. Cob webs around the cabin especially above curtains in master bedroom and above shower in ensuite.

Date of stay: 18th April 2014
The Poachers Premier is the the most expensive lodge on site for a reason. The lodge has a premium feel throughout and is perfect for a romantic retreat. The open plan design is ideal for couples and has a nice flow from the private decking and hot tub area, through to the log fire in the living area, through to the huge jacuzzi bath and four-poster bed. The TV has some Sky channels and a DVD player with DVD's available to borrow from the shop, the positioning cleverly allows it to swivel to be viewable from the living area, the bath, or the bed. The kitchen has all the basics you'll need for your stay and the dish washer means you won't need to wash up while you're there. The toilet area doubles as a utility room with washer/dryer and ironing facilities, though we never had cause to use these. The complimentary roses, chocolates and champagne is a nice touch to what is clearly aimed at honeymooners or a couples retreat...

Spotlessly clean. This was our 2nd stay, but the lodge we stayed in this time was ready for a couple of replacement items.
One of the sofas was completely flat and unable to be used and the spa bath was extremely difficult to turn on and off, as the button was so stiff. I also burnt my hand, as I wasn't expecting the oven glove to be full of holes!
Keith, Ashford
Date of stay: 12th April 2014

Ideal for couples - highly recommend and we will definitely be returning
Griffin Forest was the first lodge we ever stayed in many years ago and we have stayed in many since then. But Griffin Forest is our favourite and it was our third visit it will not be our last. You really feel like you are in a forest, it is very secluded and private. Loved every minute we were there.
Lovely relaxing setting with everything you need. Only one or two things needed, log fire and also robes for the hot tubs. Lovely place and highly recommended.
This is the second time we have stayed here, the last time being two years ago. We foolishly tried another site but you can’t beat this one so we came back this year in mid April. The lodges are situated to give privacy and as we had two dogs with us the railed in hot tub area meant we could indulge while keeping an eye on the dogs, knowing they were safe. The walks around the forest are great but be aware, as with last time we were there, because it had rained an awful lot before we arrived some of the paths were extremely muddy. This time we brought wellies, but sadly none for the dogs, still standing them in the shower soon changed my daughter’s two Black Pugs into the correct one Black and one Fawn Pug!! We stayed in a “Keeper” lodge, which is the cheapest of the range but offered all the facilities we needed. There is a shop on site and other shops / take aways not far away, plus a golf course and bar if you want besides. The weather had changed from the forecast of further rain to sunshine and/ or cloud so we again had a fantastic holiday. We would definitely recommend this site to anyone.
An absolutely beautiful place to relax and unwind! the walks from your doorstep are just pure pleasure and watching the deer and the rest of the wild life was just wonderful, we would come more often but the only negative I can give is that the prices are slightly high therefore making the trips fewer and far between.
The accommodation was great, the locations superb and very handy for York. The park and ride was really handy for getting to the city centre. The staff were magnificent and very helpful and friendly The only negative was that on the first day our lodge was not ready, (which was not a problem as we were early) so we decided to feed the kids and ourselves in the 'sports bar'. The food there was not very good, badly presented, served to us all at different time (we'd ate ours long before the kids got theirs) and it looked to have come fresh from the freezer, it would have put us off the Tykes restaurant (which has its name on the kids menu's), but we did go in there the next day for lunch with friends and the difference was incredible. The food in the Tykes Restaurant was great, couldn't fault it and would Highly recommend the steak night.
Great location and site. The cabin was very nice but a little tired considering the price. Overall very happy.
Beautiful surroundings and very comfortable lodge. Would definitely return so highly recommended.
It was brilliant and relaxing
Large lodge. Everything you need is there. Very clean and lovely and warm when we arrived. Kids loved the jacuzzi bath. Great location really close for shopping in York the outlet or 30 mins from Leeds. Had terrible weather for our stay but didn't stop us having a lovely relaxing family break. Would definitely stay again.
Absolutely stunning place. Quiet and pieceful. Great place, great facilities. Extremely warm hot tub. Just what we needed.
