Blair Castle, near Blair Atholl, has been the home of the Atholl family for centuries. Dewar's Aberfeldy Distillery stands on the eastern edge of Aberfeldy, on the southern bank of the River Tay. It is the only distillery built by the Dewar family, and it makes Aberfeldy Single Malt, the largest malt component in Dewar's blended Scotch. The water comes from the Pitilie Burn, which runs alongside the site.
Tip: If you're new to whisky, book the signature Dewar's Aberfeldy Experience, and leave time for the café before or after your tour.

Castle Menzies is a sixteenth-century Z-plan castle at Weem, near Aberfeldy. It was the seat of the chiefs of Clan Menzies for over 500 years and shows the shift from rugged Highland fortress to more comfortable mansion house. Bonnie Prince Charlie rested here on his way to Culloden, and Duleep Singh, last maharajah of the Sikh Empire, lived here in the 1850s.
Tip: There are steep stone steps, spiral staircases and uneven floors, so wear sensible shoes. The ground-floor film shows the upper floors if stairs are difficult.

Scone Palace is a Category A-listed historic house near the village of Scone and the city of Perth. Built in red sandstone with a castellated roof, it is a fine example of Gothic Revival style. For centuries the site held the Stone of Scone, on which early Scottish kings were crowned, and Robert the Bruce was crowned here in 1306.
Tip: To follow the Stone of Destiny story further, Perth Museum displays it; tickets for that are booked through the museum's own website.

We had a lovely stay at this place. The house was super well equipped and kept us really warm, which was perfect given the rainy December weather. The bath was fantastic and the shower was nicely big too. Even though its near a flight path, it didnt bother us at all-no noise issues. Perfect spot if youve got dogs that dislike fireworks, since its in the middle of nowhere. Thanks a lot!

We had such a lovely stay at Goddard's Mead! Rob and Sharon really put a lot of effort into beautifully restoring this historic building and their warm welcome made us feel right at home. Bonnie was adorable too! The locations perfect for exploring Essexs charming villages and historic sites, which we highly recommend. Its a peaceful spot with everything you need for a comfy break. Definitely worth a visit if youre nearby!

We had a really lovely week at this place from July 15th to 22nd with our two mini dachshunds. They absolutely loved it, making friends around the village of Thaxted. The cottage itself is charming and cosy and the highlight was definitely the hot tub - perfect for the hot weather, cooling down nicely. The hosts were super friendly and made us feel really welcome, even taking their dogs out to the fields daily. Its close to Stansted, so you might hear the planes, but honestly, watching them land was quite enjoyable. Wed happily recommend it!

The host was super friendly and quick to respond, which made everything so easy. We loved meeting the farm animals, especially Penelope the pig-shes adorable. The hot tub was definitely a highlight after a long day of cycling - absolute bliss! One thing to keep in mind is that the cottage is right under Stansteds flight path, so theres quite a bit of aircraft noise. It didnt ruin our trip, but it might bother sensitive sleepers.

A lovely quiet site with beautiful views. The caravan was clean and spacious and had a lovely outside seating area. The staff on site were very helpful and gave us a call before we arrived. There was a lovely walk alongside the river just a couple of minutes from the site. We are looking forward to returning next year!
We had a lovely stay, the owner- Carol was very helpful and looking into every detail to make us feel comfortable. We had a lovely time, going for walks in the surrounding areas, taking the car for between 7 to 60 minutes to go to "must see" places nearby. Also, as the holiday park is not too big, we were private and quiet. The only thing that I would comment on is the noise from the train passing from time to time, but overall this did not disturb much.
