We really enjoyed our stay overall! The caravan was charming, though a bit worn in spots and some little fixes could be made. The hot tub was fantastic and the towels, bedding and tea towels were much appreciated. Thanks!

We had a lovely stay at this charming cottage tucked away on a working farm, yet it feels surprisingly private. The owners, Robert and Sharon, are genuinely lovely people who make you feel right at home. The place itself is really spacious, with a well-equipped kitchen and a comfy bed that we didnt want to leave! The garden is perfect for dogs, totally secluded and nicely furnished. Plenty of walks nearby and Thaxted's eateries, especially The Star and The Maypole, are worth checking out. Wed definitely recommend it!

We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely spot! The setting is so peaceful and private, perfect for a relaxing getaway. The owners were super friendly and always there if we needed anything, but they also respected our privacy. The hot tub was a real treat after long days out cycling. Only thing to note is the noise from planes overhead since its right under Stansteds flight path. It didnt ruin our trip, but if youre sensitive to noise, its worth knowing. Overall, a great place to unwind!

The hot tub was a bit cosy and lacked privacy, which was a little disappointing. The playground for the kids was quite small and lacked variety. But overall, we had a lovely weekend and would definitely return for a long weekend again. Nice break!

We stayed at Goddard's Mead recently and were genuinely impressed. Rob and Sharon put a lot of thought into converting this historic place and it shows. They gave us such a warm welcome and Bonnie was lovely too. The location is perfect for exploring Essex, especially the charming villages and towns nearby. Its a peaceful spot for a relaxing break and wed definitely recommend taking some time to wander around Thaxted and beyond. Really loved it!

Date of stay: 23rd January 2025
The accommodation was really comfy and well-kept, but the bins were often overflowing, especially when the site was busy, which was a bit of a pain. Also, the restaurant prices were quite steep, nearly a tenner for simple food like sausage and chips or a pizza. Still, overall, not too bad.

Weve stayed at Lodge 1 at Bucklegrove a few times now and honestly, its become our favourite spot. The staff are always super friendly and helpful, which makes all the difference. The lodge itself is just right-particularly the hot tub at the far end, giving us privacy to really unwind. Were already planning to come back next year! Ive recommended it to so many friends and Id say its a solid 10/10 from us. Thanks a lot!

We had an amazing weekend here, just what we needed. The place was perfect for us and our dogs, who adored the underfloor heating! The garden was great fun for them. Lunas tail got a bit strained from all the wagging - guess she was having a blast! Well definitely be coming back soon. Absolutely loved it!

Date of stay: 9th January 2025
We stayed at this lovely cottage recently and honestly, the owners are so welcoming and thoughtful, it made our trip even better. The place is super cosy with a charming half-timbered exterior and the shower is really powerful-perfect after a day of exploring. Parking right outside was a real bonus and the place was spotless. We enjoyed peaceful walks to Thaxted and loved how easy it was to get around. Definitely recommend!

We stayed at Goddard's Mead recently and honestly, its a lovely spot. The owners, Rob and Sharon, did a fantastic job transforming this historic building while keeping its charm intact. They were super welcoming from the moment we arrived and Bonnie was a sweet touch! The location is spot on for exploring Essex - definitely take some time to wander around Thaxted and the nearby villages, loads of interesting history and pretty sights to see. We loved this cosy little cottage! Its perfectly tucked away from the hustle but still close enough to town for a quick shop. The hot tub was fantastic and the underfloor heating kept us warm even on chilly nights. Rob, Sharon and Bonnie made us feel really welcome. Cant wait to return!
