Reasonable layout of lodge but would have issues if wet weather in where to hang wet coat , boots etc. Could do.with some hangers, shoe rack by door. All storage in room. Nice deep bath to soak in after a challenging walk. Good variety of utensils to cook own meals.

We had a lovely week here from 15 to 22 July with our two tiny dachshund girls, who really enjoyed themselves, especially making friends in the charming village of Thaxted. The cottage itself is quite pretty and the hot tub was a real treat - perfect since it was scorching weather and cooling the water made it super refreshing. The hosts were warm and welcoming and it was nice to see their dogs being taken out daily to the fields. Being near Stansteds flight path was interesting - I loved watching the planes land. Definitely recommend hiding here for a peaceful escape!

We really enjoyed our stay overall. The views from the lodge are stunning and the bedrooms are a good size. The living room was comfy, which was great after a day out. That said, some areas could use a bit of sprucing up - the en suite shower was temperamental and the outside decking and furniture could do with an upgrade. With a bit of TLC, itd be perfect!

We stayed at Grisedale lodge which was in a lovely location with views of the lake, however the lodge itself requires some maintenance and a good clean we would not stay here again unfortunately.

We loved the cosy cabin, especially the secure patio for our doggies. The beds were super comfy and the coffee machine was a lovely touch. Might need a bit more kitchen storage, but overall, great stay!

I dont think the lodge had been thoroughly cleaned prior to our arrival. Sweets and crumbs under the cushions on the settee. Fire on wall in lounge was thick of dust. Dishwasher wasnt clean on inside of door. No facilities on site except childrens play area.

We had a really lovely time staying here! Sharon and Robert were such warm hosts, making us feel right at home from the start. The place was spotlessly clean, comfy and perfect for Archie with good security. The location was just right, with loads of nice walks nearby and Thaxted and the surrounding villages are definitely worth exploring. Honestly, we left feeling totally refreshed and relaxed - a proper little escape!

We just got back from a really nice four-night stay at this cottage. The owners were super friendly and helpful without being intrusive, which we appreciated. The big fenced garden was perfect for our dog to run around safely. The cottage had everything we needed, including a lovely hot tub - such a treat! We even fired up the BBQ one evening. Definitely planning to come back and already recommended it to friends. Thanks for a great stay!

We really enjoyed our stay here! The place felt so warm and inviting, super clean too. The shower was really powerful and hot, which was a bonus after a day out. The kitchen had everything we needed and we appreciated the nice touch of a Prosecco welcome. Visiting Derwent Lake and Keswick was lovely, especially since its so dog-friendly-our dog had a great time! Were already planning to return, its a shame to leave behind such a lovely spot.
