On our latest visit we stayed in The Blacksmith, having previously tried one of the Pheasant lodges. Although its a bit smaller, it turned out to be the perfect fit for this trip. The space feels really well thought out, its surprisingly spacious with a great layout that makes it really comfortable to stay in. A lovely place to relax and unwind, wed definitely book it again

?????????? Perfect Family Retreat Relaxing, Welcoming, and LuxuriousWe recently stayed at the Yorkshire Spa Retreat as a family group of 8 adults, a toddler, and 2 small dogs, and it was the perfect escape. We booked two lodges for a long weekend (FridayMonday): The Whiteswan (dog-friendly) and The Blacksmiths (non-dog option), both with private hot tubs. From the moment we arrived, we were so impressed. Both lodges were immaculately presented inside and out, beautifully furnished, and fully equipped with everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. The thoughtful welcome hampers were generous, and the extra touches for the dogs bowls, beds, and even their own goodies were such a lovely surprise. After settling in, we headed to The Dome restaurant and bar, which is stunning inside and has a gorgeous beer garden. As it was a hot day, we made the most of sitting outdoors. A young blonde lady behind the bar greeted us warmly and looked after us brilliantly (I wish Id caught her name, as she was a delight). The 2-for-1 cocktails from 58pm on Friday night were a highlight delicious and very reasonably priced. We also ordered woodfired pizzas to take back to the lodge, which were perfect to enjoy on the terrace. The weekend had a great balance of relaxation and exploring. Saturday morning started with a dog walk and a run in the on-site paddock, which has an agility course the dogs loved it! We then spent the afternoon in the beautiful local village of Helmsley, which is well worth a visit. Sunday was reserved for a spa day on site, and it was absolutely blissful. Lounging by the pool with drinks delivered straight to us was such a treat. And of course, having private hot tubs at both lodges made every evening feel extra special. On a personal note, being just four weeks post-surgery for breast cancer, this retreat was exactly what I needed a chance to unwind, recharge, and enjoy precious time with our daughters, granddaughter, partners, and pooches. The Yorkshire Spa Retreat truly has something for everyone luxury, comfort, wonderful service, and thoughtful touches throughout. We cant recommend it highly enough and will definitely be returning.

It was okay but I wouldnt go back, the biggest reason being the accommodation was described as a lodge but it isnt, its a brown caravan. With it being a caravan rather than a lodge it doesnt have proper beds and you can hear everything as the walls are paper thin. The beds were so uncomfortable as they are the metal camp bed types you get in caravans, had I known the above I would not have booked this place, I was under the impression it was an actual lodge. The pillows and bedding were good quality though and the caravan was very well equipped with kitchen utensils/appliances etc. The hot tub was nice, although you are overlooked by your neighbours, the outdoor kitchen with BBQ is a nice addition too. You get a welcome bag with local goodies in and pint of milk on arrival which is very thoughtful. The site has a huge problem with wasps at the moment, we were stung 3 times on the first day, we asked reception if they had any traps but they didnt so we went out and bought some which helped. The cleaning staff and the maintaince staff were all lovely, friendly and work super hard but we found the staff in the dome to be the opposite. It seemed like they didnt actually want people in there - not sure if they get to finish early if theres no one in by a certain time but it definitely felt that way! We also saw staff rolling their eyes at a customer and heard them talking negatively about another. Although the food was nice in the dome the staff were not so after witnessing the above we chose to eat out. The drinks were also rather expensive, although the 241 cocktails is a good deal, there was also an issue with wasps there too. Overall Id say the site is much more suitable for couples than families, the spa looks great but having children we couldnt make use of these facilities.

We had an amazing stay in one of the pet friendly lodges with hot tub. The lodge was spotless and well maintained with a welcome pack for guests and dogs! The site is very dog friendly with bowls and beds in the lodge and an enclosed paddock with dog bins and waste bags provided. The Spa is a hidden gem and so relaxing being nice and quiet and not over crowded. The on site dome bar and restaurant is a lovely setting for a drink and meal with good quality food, drink and service.

We stayed at this lodge recently and found it quite cosy, even if a bit smaller than our last place. It was spotless and warm when we arrived, which was lovely. Everything was working fine, though the shower heads could do with a descale or replacing-they sprayed in strange directions. The double bed was a bit lumpy, so a new mattress or topper might help. Overall, decent enough for a short stay!

We had a really great stay! The place was spotless, bright and felt spacious - everything we needed was there. Our partner loved the coffee machine, which was a nice touch. The hot tub and outdoor gear were top-notch. Only stayed two nights, so didnt get to try the BBQ or enjoy the neighbours lovely smells. Next time, well bring some burgers for sure!

Our stay at Yorkshire Spa Retreat was genuinely lovely. The setting is so peaceful, perfect for unwinding and the staff couldnt have been more helpful. The spa was cosy, but we really enjoyed it, even if its on the smaller side. Treatments were quite good, though they only used basic massage oils, which was a bit disappointing considering the price (£125). Id love to see more options available. The grounds are attractive, but some areas still need a bit more planting and groundwork to really shine. Our lodge was beautiful and super comfortable, but the hot tubs location at the back of the lodge was a bit of a let down - overlooking a pile of earth and the back of the lodge, which isn't very scenic. Some creative planting or screening would make it better. Despite that, wed definitely come back!

We had a lovely stay! The lodge was super comfy, especially the master bedroom with plenty of storage. The kitchen was well-equipped and the BBQ was fantastic - honestly, the best Ive ever used. The second bedroom is a bit small for adults, more suited for kids, but overall, we enjoyed it. We were four adults plus two labradors, so next time, wed probably go for a bigger lodge to spread out a bit more. Still, it was a great experience!

We loved the spa and lodge overall, but the hot tub could really use better lighting nearby. Itd make getting in and out much safer, especially at night. Still, fantastic stay!
