Weve been to many lakeside lodges and just feel the money paid for this one for what you got wasnt right. The was damaged throughout the lodge even though they take payment on arrival of £250 for if any damages are caused to lodge during your stay. However damages seem to have happened but never fixed. The was threatening messages throughout lodge for example; flushing any products including wipes, sanitary items down toilet will result in money being taken. Loads of notes with exclamation marks. Staff not willing to help was sent to lodge and told someone would be round soon to welcome us and go through things. But they never turned up till wed been in lodge for over 2 hours. Bedding was not provided for cot as was told it was a health and safety issue as its a choking hazard so they dont even provide a sheet for the bottom told if we want sheet to take from one of the beds. Which you dont expect when youve paid extra to have the cot. If they dont provide sheets this should be written down as we would have happily taken these with us. The was a wasps nest in the window frame of the main bedroom so we could not open this window or any others upstairs else it resulted in many wasps entering. We found ourselves checking the bedding before getting in to make sure the wasnt any wasps that had got in. As my partner is highly allergic to this and when informed staff on site they wasnt interested. However the isnt no proper office/reception its a portable cabin with one staff member but isnt manned at all times. The value you pay for these lodges isnt shown in what you get, the isnt any bath robes to use after hot tub which most the lodges weve stayed in and have paid considerably less than what we did for this stay. The kitchen was very basic no cooking oil, salt pepper. One frying pan one sauce pan. Just not what you expect when lodge is for 6 people. They advertise this as a very luxury lodge but it is far from it. They dont put any care and attention to detail in any part of the lodge. Paint marks everywhere damages to plaster board. Overall a very tired run down looking lodge damages to decking outside which is massive trip hazard. Also worth noting its a very money oriented place and making profit is all they care about. We asked to extend our stay but was told no as then they would loose money for the whole week as we only wanted to go for 5 nights. Personally Id just save your money and stop elsewhere.

We had a lovely short stay at twin lakes in a 3 bed lodge. The accommodation was great, with lots of space and a fab hot tub. It lacked a few desirables in the kitchen that would have made the stay more comfortable, caffetiere, ice cube tray etc. The staff were really friendly. The location was great for day trips but was a little surrounded by roads and train lines, although noise pollution was minimal. My son uses a wheelchair full time and this was the most accessible accommodation we have ever stayed in, although twin lakes markets itself as not being wheelchair accessible, not sure why this is. We had 2 downstairs bedrooms and the decking was step free with minimal threshold strips on the external doors, it was fantastic for him.

The lodge was spacious and bright, with a fantastic view of the lake from number 17. The two sofas werent the comfiest, but honestly, thats just being picky. Overall, a really lovely place to stay!

We loved the place! The only thing that bugged us was the limited seating in the living room-just two couches for six of us. An extra sofa wouldve made it spot-on. Still, pretty awesome stay!

We stayed at the lodge with two families, ages from 1 to 71 and it really suited us all. The open plan space downstairs was great, especially the dining table and cosy chairs, perfect for meals and chats. The upstairs en-suite was spacious enough for a travel cot and had a comfy armchair for relaxing. The second en-suite with single beds might not be ideal for everyone, but it worked fine for us. The bathroom had a bath and plenty of hot water, which was lovely. Each bedroom had a TV and comfy sofas too!

We had a really lovely stay at this place! The building is super spacious and the setting by the lake is just stunning-so peaceful and quiet, just what we needed. The only minor gripe was the sofa, which wasnt the most comfy, but it didnt ruin our trip. One thing that could be improved is the lack of curtains or blinds; the windows are a bit see-through, though the slight blackout helped a little. Kitchenware was a bit basic-no champagne glasses, sponge, or mop bucket-and the cutlery and mugs could do with an upgrade. We also didnt get a welcome pack, but the bottle of fresh milk from the farm shop was a lovely touch!

We had a really nice stay at this lodge, honestly. The open-plan kitchen, dining and living area was huge and perfect for our group of seven - plenty of space to relax in the evenings. The lodge looked modern and well-kept, which was great. That said, we did run into a bit of a snag with the beds - all of us found them pretty uncomfortable and I could actually feel the springs through the mattress in my room, which wasn't ideal. Another thing that caught us off guard was the wifi charge; weve stayed at other lodge sites where wifi is included, so having to pay extra felt a bit daft, especially in this day and age. The check-out time at 10am was also a bit frustrating. We were just about done packing, with our bags lined up and last-minute checks, when a staff member knocked on the door at 9:50 to remind us about the time. To be honest, the way they approached us felt a bit rude - we knew the time and we werent exactly hanging around. If they want check-out to be before 10, they really should make that clear from the start instead of coming round so early expecting us to be gone. Despite these little niggles, we still enjoyed our stay overall and the lodges spaciousness was definitely a highlight!

Really lovely lodge, we thoroughly enjoyed staying here. The lodge had such a big kitchen/dining/living room space with plenty of room for 7 of us to sit in an evening. However, despite the lodge being so lovely and modern, the beds were very uncomfortable. It wasnt just the bed in one room, all of us found the beds uncomfortable. In the room I stayed in, I could feel the springs of the mattress. It was also not made clear to us prior to arrival that we would have to pay for wifi. At all other lodge sites we have been to, wifi has always been included and in this day and age to charge for it as an extra seemed ridiculous. The only other thing was that check-out was at 10am. It was 9:50 and we got a knock on the door from a member of staff telling us that did we know checkout was 10 and to be completely honest the was he approached this was very rude. We were perfectly aware of this. We had our bags already lined up to be packed into the car and were just making sure the fridge was empty and having one last check to ensure we hadnt left anything. It just felt quite unnecessary to be telling us this when it wasnt even 10 yet. If they want check out to be before 10, then they should tell us that. Not come round before then expecting us to have left.

The lodge was stunning and spotless overall, but we did notice some stains on the sofas that could do with a proper clean.

Weve just come back from a lovely stay at Twin Lakes and wanted to share our experience. The lodge was really spacious and well-equipped with all the basics like washing-up liquid, dishwasher tablets, kitchen roll, tea, coffee, milk and orange juice - lovely touch! Our dog was also spoilt with bowls and treats, which was a nice surprise. There was some wear and tear around the lodge and the sofa had quite a stained back, but honestly, it didnt impact our stay at all. We did think a coat rack inside the lodge wouldve been handy-there's one by the hot tub for towels, but none for coats. Also, a hand wash in the bathrooms would be a nice addition. The staff were super friendly and welcoming, which made things even better. WiFi cost £10 for the whole trip, but wed definitely recommend visiting Greenlands farm shop & restaurant nearby - food was top-notch and well priced. Were already looking forward to coming back!
