Apart from the heat, (which can't be helped and really don't want to complain about the little sun we get!) the country home was fantastic. Our daughter loved it, the kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed for self catering. Beds were very comfortable and overall decor was fine. Stairs leading up to the country home were very rickety which was a little unnerving as I was heavily pregnant but that didn't affect our enjoyment of the holiday one bit and would still recommend it.
Date of stay: 21st May 2016
What a brilliant 1st anniversary me and my husband had, the lodge was fab & clean and the views of the lake are gorgeous. We also had a full body massage in the spa which was amazing, the restraunt is lovely and food also. We also had brilliant weather for the whole week and explored the gorgeous lakes. Beautiful lodge; we were situated around the lake and had a fantastic view. We used the on site gym and swimming pool for a small fee. Only thing I would have liked to see is an on site shop selling essentials as we had to call to local supermarket just for milk and bread. Great food in resteraunt but took quite a while to get the food even though it wasnt that busy. Will definitely go again.
Date of stay: 2nd May 2016
Accommodation was great apart from the bunk bed mattresses which needed replacing - springs could be felt through the mattress
Date of stay: 22nd April 2016
The lodge was like a home from home and had everything we needed. The only drawback the Internet connection wasn't very good.
Date of stay: 18th March 2016

One of the most comfortable, well equipped lodges i have ever stayed in. It had a full size fridge freezer and even a dish washer.
Date of stay: 27th December 2014
The only disappointing part was we couldn't leave our golden retreiver in the lodge while we went for Christmas dinner in waterside restaurant. We ended up having it boxed up and taken back to the lodge.
Date of stay: 24th November 2014
The lodge wanted for nothing , it was home from home. It was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed.
Date of stay: 14th November 2014
Dead flies in light fittings were a bit nasty but other than that fantastic

4 nights away in relative peace and quiet. Good base for lakes and Yorkshire Dales. Looking to book again next year.
This is the first time we have visited the Lake District so we were concerned as to where to stay . We made an excellent choice in the leisure village & would highly recommend it.
Love the park. The surroundings was lovely and it gave easy access to the surrounding areas. Good transport links. We used the railway station at carnforth several times.
Family holiday with two cabins, both spacious and well equipped, would definitely go again.

Here at the Wildlife Oasis you can really get up close to the animals and experience a mix of exotic wildlife and hand son displays. See butterflies, birds and even bats flying around. You don't have to plan your visit according to weather either with the tropical hall and butterfly house undercover. Sunny days are ideal for some of the inhabitants however with the monkeys and Lemurs loving to sunbathe. The mission of Lakeland's Wildlife Oasis is to engender and foster an interest and appreciation of the natural world which, in our belief underpins wildlife conservation; and, where possible to contribute and encourage contribution to the conservation of wildlife and wild places. You know that you are helping with this mission if you choose to visit.

Located in the Milnthorpe area of Cumbria we love this local attraction. With an eclectic mix of fascinating wildlife and hands on displays this centre is educational as well as fun. You can wander around at leisure admiring the exhibits which range from chameleons to computers. Some of the most threatened species are kept at the park as part if international breeding programmes. Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs which are great value for money. There are discounts for pre-booked parties of 12 or more.

Happy Mount Park has attractions for the whole family including several play areas, a miniature railway, crazy golf, putting green and trampolines, there is also a paddling pool where the little ones can splash around in the summer and a café where the adults can relax with a drink. During the summer months and especially during school holidays live music can often be enjoyed.

Head for the Bowland Wild Boar park and we don't think you will be disappointed. A popular attraction in Preston there is so much to do for the whole family. From picnics, walks and wildlife to experiencing feeding the animals you are sure to have a memorable day out. Also popular is the kids tractor play area. For rest and relaxation the cafe is ideal serving hot drinks and snacks with a lovely view over the pond and wildlife feeding station. This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals. Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area. Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos. At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed. Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.

Rydal Mount & Gardens are wonderfully situated between Lake Windermere and Rydal Water offering breathtaking scenery. The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. There is also a gallery and a tearoom. Discounts are available for group bookings.

This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years. There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk. For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families. Corporate groups are also well catered for.
