Shear Barn Holiday Park

Lodge was lovely and clean apart from the lounge carpet that needs to be replaced as it was stained and marked throughout and the footstall was broken on one side. Quiet, chilled park and amazing views of the sea, which were just perfect for that weekend away.

Our fith visit to this nice peaceful site with views of the sea, if only the site facilities were better. We have tried various different lodges and not been disappointed and when needed the staff have been helpful and friendly.

Could do with some more crockery,pots and pans and an ovenglove

Where to start , 1st : electric tripping and having to keep going outside to reset the fuse board (couldn't have kettle or toaster on at same time and defiantly not when hot tub was on .. took to boiling water in sauce pan on gas hob), 2: Sons bed missing 7 slats so 50+% -- after 3 phone calls and logged in reception finally on our last night someone came a did a repair but was still missing a slat 3:TV Wi-Fi and normal antenna kept going off over the week - so periods of no tv. 4: Cooker and grill dirty 5: Double bed felt like sleeping on springs with no padding 6: Freezer missing draw fronts 7: Fridge missing door trays and had damage to the fridge wall 8: stained carpet, chairs and wall paper knocked/ripped 9: Super fast paid Wi-Fi - mmmmm definite not. 10: We contacted reception in person and via phone during our stay - the reception phone kept cutting off during conversation - 20th July we sent all our concerns in writing before we left and still after chasing multiple times still had no response from the management.

Dirty and no facilities

An excellent lodge couldnt ask for better. Beds were very comfortable and a good size, they were made up for us on arrival and all rooms were given bath and hand towels of a good size. There was a dishwasher and washing machine in the lodge so that we could spend our time enjoying the holiday not clearing up.

The caravan was very tidy and clean. One of best for cleanliness. We had all what we needed.

Wonderful Lodge, perfect for our group, only issue was some times the signal for tv was hit and miss, but with the peace and quiet, the views didn't need tv.

Excellent and will be back

We had a great stay here! The lodges are lovely and our friends' ones looked just as nice. Definitely go for one with a hot tub - it makes all the difference!

Been here a couple of times,never disappoints

Facilities were a bit limited because of Covid, but overall, we were quite satisfied.

The place was spotless when we arrived, thanks to Virus Free Solutions-super reassuring during Covid. The ocean views lovely and sitting outside on the patio was a real treat!

Very basic. Beds uncomfortable with a very soft cheap mattress.

Great stay, loved the jacuzzi, will come back!

The cabin was spotless and had everything we needed. The hot tub definitely made our weekend!

We really enjoyed our stay at the lodge! The place was stunning and had pretty much everything we needed. The main bedroom with the ensuite was lovely and all the beds were super comfy. The hot tub was already hot when we arrived, which was perfect after a long day. If we had to suggest anything, some extra baking trays in the kitchen would be handy and the water pressure in the showers could be a tad better. Still, we had a great time!

Really worth trying out

Overall, for the price, its pretty good. The hot tub was a highlight and the beds were nice and clean. Just a shame about the sofas being a bit uncomfortable!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The lodge was super peaceful and the view of the sea through the window was lovely. It was well stocked, especially the kitchen bits, which made cooking easy. The bed was comfy and having two toilets was a bonus. The large TV with DVD was a nice touch too. Wed come back!

Spacious and clean, good value overall.

We had an amazing time at the lodge, honestly. Everything was spot on, except for the seating situation. Theres just one sofa and two arm chairs, which isnt really enough for six of us. We managed to squeeze three on the sofa, but then someone ended up on the floor or a dining chair. Its a small thing, but it did matter a bit. Apart from that, everything else was just perfect. Wed definitely come back!

The lodge was lovely overall, but a closer look showed some sofas and chairs could really do with a good deep clean. Still enjoyed it though!

The walks at Hastings Country Park are fantastic, really enjoyed exploring them. Shame about no fishing and the lack of a restaurant, that was a bit disappointing though.

We love Hastings and Shear Barn is a perfect base to explore the area. If you're walking be prepared for "the hill"...

Lovely lodge with great scenery. Nice and quiet.

Firstly it was fantastic weather which always helps the holiday. The view of the sea and the fern glens were great. The Lodge was clean and comfortable. It is about a mile and half to Hastings sea front, which is downhill on the way in, but a bit of a climb coming back for older people like us, so we tended to get a taxi back (about £6:50, so pretty much the same as for parking). And if you are people who enjoy walking it is a wonderful area. There is not a great deal onsite in regard to entertainment, a bar, a restaurant and a small swimming pool, so if you are people who want a lot of onsite entertainment this is probably not the site for you. We greatly enjoyed it though, very friendly, and we found plenty to do in and around Hastings.

Lovely quiet place. The park itself is spotless and well maintained.

Gorgeous lodge, lovely, quiet,well looked after site. Small shop could be better stocked,the only downside. Pool was good, staff in reception really helpful when asked for directions locally to the town and walk around Hastings park. Had a lovely week and would definitely recommend.

Walk into Hastings or other beaches requires negotiation of steep slopes and/or steps (or the use of the cliff railway into Hastings); All Staff were Helpful and Efficient. We had a Really Relaxing Break and enjoyed the local area, site facilities, and particularly the easy access to coastal paths for walking.

Really nice peaceful place in a nice location with lots of wildlife.
The guy in reception was very happy and helpful which is a nice greeting after a long drive.
