Nice site but not sure we will go back again, caravan very dated, windows & door not closing properly, leaving gaps. Oven seal not all in place & again leaving a huge gap so had to cook pizza for longer. Fire in lounge obviously been taken out, no thermostats on radiators so couldnt regulate individual radiators, so either had to have radiators on or off, temperature dropped at night but too hot with radiators on !!! Nice fish & chip shop on site, arcade was great, couldnt book general swim ???? kids soft play & activities were upstairs, no lift to be able to take a pushchair up there. Been to better Parkdean sites than this one.

Lovely holiday overall. Staff were friendly and helpful. Lounge carpet absolutely filthy but maintenance cleaned it immediately when I drew it to their attention. Unfortunately the pre-occupation check was poor. Pleasant setting, a short drive to beaches and sites of interest

The caravan we stayed in needed a bit of TLC - the table top was peeling back off the table. There were a few holes in the walls where the door had obviously been pushed back too far and the handle had gone through the wall. But it was comfortable, big enough for us. The only issue was ants coming in but that was rectified by the staff once we let them know.

Caravan had everything you needed. The twin rooms much bigger than most caravans we've stayed in. Everywhere was nice and clean. 2 toilets was a bonus with teenagers. Took us a while to work heating, in the double bedroom was a dial which we didn't realise at first. Soon got warm then.

We had a lovely stay! The house was super well equipped and kept us warm during that cold rainy December day. The bath was just perfect and the shower was nice and spacious. Being on a flight path didnt bother us at all-thats not a big deal. Perfect spot for dogs that dislike fireworks, since its quite remote. Really pretty and well-renovated place. Thanks a lot!

We stayed at a lovely cottage run by truly welcoming hosts. They were so helpful and friendly, making us feel right at home. The place itself is adorable, with charming half-timbered decor and a nice, powerful shower. The cosy kitchen and comfy bed made it perfect for relaxing. Parking right outside was a real bonus and the location is ideal for peaceful walks in the fields or exploring Thaxteds historic streets. Would definitely return!

Really enjoyed our stay here! The cottage is cosy and well-kept and the location is just perfect-peaceful but still close enough to explore easily. The owners are super friendly without being too hands-on, which we appreciated. The hot tub was a great bonus after a day out. Honestly, theyve got it just right! Would definitely recommend for a relaxing break.

We stayed at Goddard's Mead recently and were really impressed. Rob, Sharon and Bonnie made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived, which was lovely. The building itself is beautifully restored, blending history with comfort perfectly. The location in Essex is perfect for exploring Thaxted and nearby villages-so many charming spots to wander around and soak up the history. Definitely recommend this place for a relaxing getaway!
