Beautiful location. Only one restaurant in the nearby town. No take aways will deliver to the area. Amazing lodge for those that just want to get away from everything and hide, we stayed in a Foxglove Platinum 4 lodge, it was brilliant, on suite bathroom for the master bedroom, dishwasher so you didn't have to bother dealing with the pots whilst you're supposed to be relaxing. And where can you go wrong when there's a hot tub :)

As before it was a nice comfortable lodge but needed a good clean and some minor repairs.
Nick, Staffordshire
Date of stay: 1st September 2017
Clean and tidy on arrival, very well equipped with everything we needed. Our lodge had a great plot with some privacy for the outdoor area and hot tub - but not all lodges on the park enjoy this. Hot tub was a great addition and well used by everyone. Changing the water for the arrival of new guests makes it pretty much unusable on the first night while the water heats up. A shame, but a reasonable trade off for knowing the water is fresh. By the next morning it was up to temperature. Only niggle was the lodge wasn't quite a spacious as some I've stayed in with Hoeseasons before, but that's not to say it wasn't pleasant. Overall, would certainly recommend.
Marie, West Midlands
Date of stay: 28th August 2017
A bit costly but the lodges are of a high standard and the hot tub must cost a lot to clean, maintain and heat so that it is always available. So worth it.
Janet, Basildon
Date of stay: 25th August 2017
Each lodge is on a generous plot and the park is beautifully landscaped and surrounded by beautiful scenery. The lodge itself was clean and very comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped and the whole decor of the lodge was attractive. The hot tub was excellent and we made good use of it. The showers were a little bit difficult to adjust running hot and cold. As long as no- one washed up or turned a tap on we seemed to be ok.
The Wi-Fi was a problem - it never worked but we did get our money back.
The staff were extremely helpful throughout the week.
Lesley, Cambridgeshire
Date of stay: 25th August 2017

Date of stay: 31st July 2017
Great lodge very spacious and open plan is great for a family. Nice large kitchen with most things you need. Only thing missing was a clothes airer as there was a washing maching and using the hot tub you need somewhere to dry towels. Gorgeous views all around.
Louise, Derby
Date of stay: 21st July 2017

Tim, Manchester
Date of stay: 7th July 2017

Julie, Wellingborough
Date of stay: 30th June 2017
we stayed at no 26 and it was very clean and comfortable, very ideal for a dog if you wanted to come, you could see that the owners took an interest as to what we would need like leaving us plenty of leaflets of places to visit and eat, the even left books, colouring books and games if yoy brought children , the hot tub was very warm definately would recommend this lodge 10 out of 10
Adrian, Bath
Date of stay: 30th June 2017

Matt, Shropshire
Date of stay: 30th June 2017
Very spacious, clean and tidy. Have no complaints
Maria, Sandwell
Date of stay: 23rd June 2017
The lodge was very nice inside but could have done with the windows cleaning as there were bugs and spiders on the patio doors inside. The mattress protectors were dirty and I only noticed this on the last day when I stripped the beds. Some plates were dirty in the kitchen but I put this down to previous guests. Other than that everything else was perfect.
The hot tub was to the side which meant we had more privacy and we were able to park our car right outside.
Plenty of room for the two of us.
Lynne, Stoke On Trent

Date of stay: 2nd June 2017
Not having facilities on-site was good. Rarely use them, and quieter without them.

Best accommodation of its type that I have ever stayed in. Nothing broken, everything worked as it should and very clean, comfortable and spacious. It is privately owned, and clearly the owners used it themselves.
Sarah, St Helens

Date of stay: 8th May 2017
Visited for the weekend, the lodge we stayed in was lovely, beautiful and clean, hot tub was amazing, would definitely return, hopefully for longer than a weekend next time, I've been raving about these lodges to everyone since we returned. If I could pick fault with anything it would probably be the fact that an onsite little shop would be beneficial but only a short car journey to the nearest shops anyway. PERFECT!!!!!
Elaine, Herefordshire

Would have been a perfect holiday if it had not been for the water problem which could have been solved so easily had a plumber been called !!!
Barbara, Bedford
Date of stay: 17th April 2017
A really nice lodge, lovely spacious lounge and pretty well equipped. Bedrooms a bit small and my tall nephew struggled with the length of the beds. Lovely hot tub, but were disappointed we couldn't use it on the Friday night. We know they have to clean out the hot tubs, but this is the first time we haven't had access for a whole evening in the last 10 years and countless cabins with hot tubs we have visited. When you are only booked in for the weekend, losing one evening use is annoying.

we arrived, staff were quite rude and abrupt. Gave me free WiFi to apologise for the delay, glad I did not pay for it as the connection was awful. Lodge itself was lovely, had problem with parking at lodge as other people were using our parking space. Hot water was a problem as the boiler kept tripping out so we had to reset it a few times.
Aside from those problems we really enjoyed ourselves

Only mark down on furniture and fittings was because the outdoor furniture was in relatively poor condition. Maybe a bit picky but my only criticism.

lovely clean lodge and a nice hot tub.
My only gripe is the wifi.
I paid £10 and it was unuseable, none of my devices would reliably connect (on any of the parks hotspots) and when they did it was painfully slow for the minute it stayed up.

dont waste your money on it.
Then to top it all, the brochure inside the lodge said wifi was free!

A group of 6 of us visited this park and stayed in the manor house for a long weekend. We travelled all the way down from Glasgow and it was so worth it. The pictures don't do the house justice at all. It is much bigger and more spacious than we expected. Lovely original features. The hot tub was well used and a great addition. We had a fantastic stay and I would definitely book again despite the journey to get there! No issues whatsoever. A+++

Really enjoyed our stay, hot tub was fantastic to unwind after a long days rambling.

The only suggestion I would make is that pet and non-pet lodges should be kept separate.

The lodge was immaculate and very clean but there was a faint smell of wet dog on the sofa which did improve throughout our stay.

As non- pet owners, this was slightly off putting.

Scored 10 because I know if we had mentioned it to the staff, they would have endeavoured to sort it out.

We just got some fabreeze from the local shop.

Will be coming again! Thanks.

We went as a group of 5 ladies to celebrate our 30th birthdays. The lodge was immaculately clean and a perfect size for us, having an extra bathroom with the en-suite facility and the addition of a fridge was perfect.
We all enjoyed the hot tub and this being straight outside the living area was great to be able to jump straight back inside on the cold evenings. I did think that a nice canopy over the hot tub would be a good addition for when it rains, that is my only negative comment really.
We went for the day to zipworld and bounce below which was about a 40 minute drive away.
All in all a great weekend, we will definitely return.

The Manor is gorgeous ...old, creaky a little squeaky, full of character....just like us oldies !! Cosy and warm with tons of space. A well equipped kitchen so it was great to cook family meal and the big dining table was ample for all 6 of us to sit around. We all had space to do our own thing and the living room was so cosy when we got the wood burner going at night, there was even a Christmas Tree up and little Christmas decorations here and there ....fabulous !. The hot tub was great and despite the cold weather we took advantage of it. If you are after home from home comforts , space to relax, watch TV, eat, drink and enjoy precious family time you will find it here.

Buttercup 4 is one of the pet friendly caravans on the park with a hot tub. On arrival the area around the porch was covered in a lot of wet leaves and I was worried my elderly Mother may slip on these. I reported the matter to the receptionist and one of the maintenance staff cleared the leaves away very quickly. The caravan was nicely furnished with plenty of pots, pans, plates etc All the kitchen equipment was very clean. The spare room had two single beds which were very close together which my Mother struggled a little with, but they were typical for a caravan that sleeps four people. The only disappointment was the hot tub. As I have a hot tub at home I am very familiar with the weekly hot tub cleaning routine, and in my opinion the cleanliness of the hot tub was not as it should have been. Instead of emptying the hot tubs the maintenance staff appeared to place extra chemicals in and top the tubs up with water, rather than emptying them regularly. The filter was absolutely filthy and almost put me off going in it. Also, beware anyone who is allergic to bromine as they use this hot tub chemical rather than only chlorine, which left my partners skin very red and sore after the holiday. Apart from the hot tub, I would recommend this site as it was perfect for long walks and exploring the local area. I never realised there was so much to discover in Bala!

We have enjoyed Lodge breaks previously, but have never experienced a 'hot tub' break....we would now consider this as one of our essentials on a short break, as it really helped to extend each day and make the holiday special - it really was superb. The Lodges were extremely well equipped (including dishwasher) and had en-suite in the main bedroom, we were easily able to cater for 4 of us...it is just worth noting that the second room is quite small and has twin beds, so less suitable for a couple unless they are aware of it beforehand. T he site is beautifully located close to Bala Lake and outstanding scenery. We took our bikes and kayaks with us and made the most of what the area has to offer close by, however there is still loads to do and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay - so much so we will be back again very soon!

Absolutely loved it. Perfect for what we needed. Site could do with a shop for bread, milk newspaper. One downside to our cabin was velux window in kitchen opened it when cooking breakfast and about 50 flies where some how in the framing of window. Other than that loved the stay.

The cabins are nice and a good size, but there was alot of flies around hot tubs at Pen-Y-Garth which made it not very enjoyable or relaxing having to swat the flies, other guests had the same problem. Other than that the holiday was good. The staff are really helpful and suggestive of things to do in the area.

It was clean and overall to a high standard. I would definitely return.

The Foxglove 6 Lodge that we had was outstanding. It was extremely well furnished, the open plan living / dining area was superb, well fitted kitchen with everything you would need.
Bedrooms were of a similar high level of decor and fittings as was the bathrooms.
The owners had left some useful information about the Lodge and some polite suggestions about dirty boots and the access to the hot tub, which made absolute sense. Cleaning materials were available including a vacuum, which was great because the standard this lodge was finished to you wouldnt want to do anything else but leave as you found it spotless.
This lodge was situated on the gentle slope to the East of the Site and the veranda with hot tub caught the morning and evening sun (late July) fantastic.

My partner and I stayed here Monday to Friday at the beginning of March, it was lovely! The lodge was fully equipped and more than we needed for a weeks stay. Unfortunately there was an unpleasant smell coming from the shower room, it smelt like pets. It was manageable, apart from this I couldn't fault the lodge. When it wasn't raining it was wonderful using the hot tub, especially after a long day of activities. When it was raining a gazebo or similar would have been great, even if these were to hire from reception, to get the most use out of the hot tub. The bed is more comfortable than my bed at home which was an unexpected luxury. I didn't want to leave when it was time because it was so peaceful and lovely!

The lodge we stayed in we had complete privacy when in the hot tub, looking out to the absolutely stunning view.
The lodge itself again exceeded our expectations, it was beautiful, right down to the flowers, bedding, ornaments, kitchen utensils, we really didn't go without anything, and the heating was excellent, it was cold weather when we were there and we didn't even notice.

Date of stay: 21st February 2015
The lodge was what a luxury lodge should be- it had all you could need within a small space. The only thing I missed having was a hoover, especially so as there were dog hairs on the carpet and sofa and chairs in the living area. Everything else was low maintenance and well placed. I was quite taken by the walk in dressing area which kept all clothes, suitcases and jackets out of site.
The bathroom was well sized and the shower cubicle was much bigger than some I've encountered. Water pressure was good as well.

Could do with a few more cooking utensils and some music facilities out by the hot tub would be the icing on the cake for me as we really enjoyed sitting in the tub listening to the music but it was on my laptop through the door so not the best setup when water is involved.

Can't fault it everything apart from the washing machine worked fine.
There is a laundret on site so it wasn't a massive issue.
Paul, Birmingham
Date of stay: 17th November 2014
No dvd player or facility to add one, that was a little disppointing as a previous phone call to the site stated that yes, all accomodation has dvd players. Hot tub was pleasant but fumes from the boiler outlet pipe kept drifting towards us, very unpleasant eggy smell, which we could not put up with, therefore had to get out, so that was disappointing. This happened every time we went in.

Had no vacume cleaner, was supplied with one on request but was full and no instruction on how to empty it. Battery in remote control for fire was not working (the only control for fire). Hot tub was overfilled with hot water following service one day, was unable to use it for a few hours on our return from long walk, had to empty out some water and refil with cold, was a bit confused as to how this had happened but phone site helpline who said the hot water must have been left on during maintainance.Staff very helpful and friendly though.

Our accommodation was worthy of the 5 star rating that the park holds. All the extras were there and added to our excellent time spent there. Comfy and modern fittings, the hot tub was a very welcomed treat after a long day out walking in the beautiful surroundings.

The lodge was very spacious with modern funishings and we found it to be spotlessly clean. Hot tub was very nice but would have benefitted from some privacy screens as it faced reception and the access road. Would definately stay here again.

Comfortable cosy lodge. Could do with more china (only 4 each of plates, bowls etc). Interior a little dated.
Sheila
Date of stay: 15th August 2014
For something that is classed as 5 star I would have expected something slightly more pristine, The veranda looked like it had not been swept all season and inside the skirtings were pretty dusty. Likewise the bath mat was filthy but management did supply a new one (this lodge was not owned by Pen-y-Garth but was one rented out by private owner)
Nicola, Northwich

Amazing place, so much space in and out of the house. It was clean and well kept. If you visit the manor remember to take your dishwasher tablets and the only thing it could have done with was a tumble dryer. We had a glorious week there and we're able to dry clothes and towels outside.

We travelled here from Devon where we spent the first half of our break away. I was with my wife and 2 children under 3. It took as a long long time to get to pen y garth and the girl Niah I think it was was kind enough to wait around to give us our keys. Problem was that i tried to locate our lodge to no avail. They all look the same and hadn't got clear numbers. It would've been nice to be shown personally where the lodge was as her directions were poor. I had to call again and get her to show me which annoyed me slightly when I thought about it as we had been travelling so long with young children. Last thing you want is to be running around for 15 mins looking for your accommodation. Apart from that the lodge was very nice inside although we couldn't fit our steriliser on the microwave which meant boiling the babies bottles in the pan. A few of the fittings around the lodge were in need of repair if it is to be called five star. Children's play area very basic. Would greatly benefit fr
Upgrading. My wife thought the bed was very firm but I was indifferent. All in all. Expensive but nice and relaxing all the same. No wifi. Give star. Not sure?

Comfortable and clean but a little bland, and could use extra touches of colour, eg in wall pictures, curtain and cushions. Lots of useful sockets but surprised to find no shaver point, and no soap holder in shower, simple and basic requirements.

The manor was amazing. We did have a problem with the boiler and had no hot water for two days, but the staff couldn't help us enough by providing us with a lodge we could shower in and heaters if we needed them. Would recommend this to all groups of people from families to groups of friends like us.

Lovely quiet site, not really much in way of facilities, but there is a laundrette and a small kids play area. The caravan/mobile home was lovely, very modern, plenty of room. The kids in particular loved the hot tub and it was used every day we were there. Not far from Bala for Supermarkets/pubs and leisure centre.

Date of stay: 28th February 2014
Beautiful decor and furniture and the kitchen was very well appointed. Only criticism is not sure ensuite is required in 4 birth, would have been more beneficial to have a dressing table and chair in main bedroom.
Gary, Whitley Bay
Date of stay: 24th February 2014
The only slight issues were the light colour seats were slightly grubby. The lodge was clean and this was simply due to the colour of the suite rather than poor cleanliness. The beds were also very short. I'm only 5'8" and found them short don't know how anyone over 6' would manage.

Date of stay: 20th December 2013
We were disappointed we were unable to use the hottub due to the lid being broken and the water being cold,
We have used log cabins before in other parts of the country and have always been provided with towels, dressing gowns
But on this occasion we didn't get either.
Steven
We had a very enjoyable stay at Pen-y-garth and would highly recommend this location. Be prepared to drive for visitor attractions and watch out for the sheep in the roads, but it’s well worth it.
Natalie
We loved our stay in lodge number 32. The lodge was clean and modern and well equipped. The hot tub was lovely. It wasn’t hot enough to use until the night time on our arrival day but that wasn’t an issue for us. The site is very well maintained and we’d definitely go back - it’s just a short drive in to Bala where there are shops and pubs (as these are not available on site) and there is a lovely children’s play area. My only feedback for the site owners is about parking. We had a 6-berth lodge and this means taking 2 cars. We only had one allocated bay and the road is too small to park on. There was plenty of room to put in an extra bay and the bigger lodges really need them. Otherwise the place is perfect for some r&r and a great location for Snowdonia.
Jan
The accomodatoon exceeded our expectations - it was spacious, clean and modern. The private hot tub was a great facility. The staff were really helpful and friendly. The landscaping of the holiday park was good too. The only area of improvemet could have been the games room.
Rebecca
We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The lodge was beautiful and much bigger than we expected. The only downfall was that from day 2 the hot tub was low in temp and wouldn't rise. I tried on 2 separate occasions to notify reception but both times it was locked with no one present. They did however have a number to phone buy signal wasn't good enough. I wouldn't let this deter me from going again though x
Deborah
We absolutely loved it here. The lodge was amazing. We will definitely be coming back.
Suzanne
Lovely lodge, very clean and well maintained. Hot tub was great! Lovely touch of tea/coffee/milk sachets and dish washing materials provided that we weren't expecting.
Clive
Very nice lodge in a great location. Lovely site but better clothes drying facilities would be beneficial. Site was nicely spaced out with good safe playing area for young children. Hot tub was great and everything was well maintained.
