The interior of the lodge was clean and spacious. The sliding doors to the ensuite were rattling and perhaps needed mini handles as it was not easy to open/close without risking damage to fingers. The bedroom furniture, ie the drawers had to be open and closed forcefully as the fit was tight. Maintenance staff appeared unannounced to change the lid whilst my husband was in the hot tub.

The Falstone was great, although perhaps the least spacious of all the Kielder lodges. Nonetheless though, it was still well laid out and very comfortable with great facilities. One gripe I do have is the change to door locking on the lodges. In years gone by the doors have used a traditional metal key with an interior latch on the door, though this year thats changed to an electronic key card. Thats absolutely great from the outside in and feels very secure. From the inside though, theres no way to lock the door, making it very easy for a small child - or, in my case, a bouncy dog - left unattended for even a moment to open the door and get out. We resolved this by stacking furniture in front of the door, but Im not sure that would work for an adventurous toddler! With that said, theres lodges were super comfy. I particularly love the beds, and we as a family were so glad that the ability to hang bird feeders outside the window was available in this lodge!

Lodge was ok, could do with a spruce up.. deep clean, cobwebs/moss brushing off external walls and hooks would be handy to hang robes outside whilst in hot tub. This is easily over looked/forgiven however as the robes, slippers, fluffy towels, prosecco, bug spray, candle and doggie welcome pack, really makes you feel valued and all fuzzy inside ????

Lovely little lodge, lush seeing all the birds in the day and foxes and hearing owls late on. Only thing was the washer was very noisy and under the sink leaked a little when washing up, but had a lovely weeks stay here :)

We spent a wonderful week at Kielder Waterside. Beautiful location, great facilities, friendly and helpful staff and lots of things to do for adults and children alike. Our daughter loved the Bird of Prey Centre and the swimming pool and our son could not get enough of Kids Drive Time. I would highly recommend Kielder Waterside for a fantastic family holiday!

The lodge had such lovely views of the beautiful surroundings. It has had a bit of an update since our last visit. The sofas are a little uncomfortable. It also could have been a little cleaner in places.

The lodge was beautiful and the hot tub was amazing and clean, we loved everything about it, the only thing that we found in lodge 34 is that the water pressure in the showers was really bad and it was more like a trickle, we loved all the little extras that had been left especially the frizzante :). The rooms and beds were comfy but the tvs in the bedroom are very small and could be improved in size as they are to small to watch.

Well equipped and spotlessly clean. Robes and slippers for hot tubs use very appreciated. Tea, coffee and milk in the cabin on arrival and the Prosecco was a lovely surprise. Plenty of space in the cabin for a family with teenagers.

We had a wonderful 4 nights in absolutely stunning surroundings. The Lodge was clean and welcoming and the bed was super comfortable. The midges ate me alive but it was so worth it. The kitchen had everything you need. The hot tub was ready to use from booking in. We had plenty of room as 3 adults. The restaurant serves delicious food at affordable prices. There are lots of activities going on to suit most families.

Date of stay: 20th August 2025
The lodge felt tired and in need of some updating. Windows were really dirty on the outside and the BBQ hut hadnt been cleaned so we had to do that before we could use it. It was well equipped with a washer/drier, dishwasher, Bluetooth speaker and PS4. Shower over bath wasnt the best and bathroom had quite a lot of mouldy spots and generally felt in need of a refit.

What a wonderful time we had at Kielder. The lodge was comfy and well equipped and having the hot tub was a winner with our teenage children in particular. The setting is beautiful and there is plenty to do and lots of lovely walks. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The restaurant had a great menu, lovely food and also very friendly staff. Overall we had a fantastic time and would recommend.
