Heronstone Lodges

Heronstone Lodges sit at the foot of the Brecon Beacons National Park and enjoy a location in the heart of protected woodland. This charming park is located on a non working farm and would be suited to families and couples looking for a quiet and relaxing holiday in south Wales.

Those who enjoy hill walking, fishing or simply nature will be in their element here. The surrounding countryside is known as Waterfall Country due to the diversity of waterfalls in the area.  This region attracts many tourists year after year due to the natural beauty of the area.

Heronstone Lodges are comfortable log lodges and each has the benefit of a covered veranda set amongst the woodland.  VIP lodges come with private outdoor hot tubs and are ideal for special occasions. The Red Kite VIP lodge sleeps 4 and is a luxury open plan lodge with leather sofas and flatscreen TV  as well as garden area.  The Owl Lodge VIP is also highly recommended which has the same amenities as the Red Kite but sleeps 4-6.  Heronstone Lodge A is recommended for couples and small families.

we stayed in kestral VIP and it was amazing! it was the best break we have ever had as me and my partner went. everything about the cabbin was fantastic and it was beyond our expectations and we will definately be going back! the hot tub was out of this world and the surrounding area was beautiful

Date of stay: 9th July 2018
My boyfriend and I stayed in Jay VIP 002 for a weekend to celebrate our 1st year together and I cannot thank Heronstone Lodges enough for making it an incredible weekend to remember. The grounds and lodges are immaculate and the staff were very friendly. Upon arrival we were able to go straight to our lodge and let ourselves in before Steve popped in to tell us about the features and how the hot tub worked. Afterwards we were left to ourselves with complete privacy (save for the hot tub water check in the morning but this never interrupted us) although Steve highlighted that if we needed anything to give him a call.

I was so touched to find that the lodge had been decorated specially for our anniversary with heart bunting, rose petals, and a banner along with a bottle of bubbly and some chocolates. It was such a lovely thing to be welcomed too especially as I had only mentioned the occasion in passing via Facebook message.

The lodge itself had everything we could possibly want for our little weekend getaway (including a table top fan for the warmer parts of the day). I was pleased to find some decent sized mugs too (I need a bucket of tea to wake up in the morning!) so hadnt needed to bring my own. The bed was comfy and the sheets and towels smelled incredible (we want to know what fabric softener they use!) and oh my goodness the power shower was heaven!

We loved being able to take a walk to the local village to pick up some bits and explore but also found just hanging out at the lodge in the gorgeous sunshine and enjoying the BBQ and the hot tub to be just as fun. We really lucked out on the weather but even if it had rained the entire time I think we still would have had a great time hanging out at the lodge and using the hot tub as it is covered and lovely and warm!
One suggestion we would have is to notify guests on where to find the instructions for the oven (as it has no markings) as we spent about 10 minutes trying to find it on Google before giving up and testing each knob...then I found the instructions in a pack under the TV haha! A little shop on site of essentials and food items would also be great for when were feeling too lazy to leave the lodge!

Overall we had a fantastic time and it was so romantic, peaceful, and relaxing. We cannot wait to visit again soon - Heronstone Lodges certainly has a special place in our hearts now and you can really tell how much passion and effort the owners put in to making each and every stay memorable.

Absolutely amazing break away at the end of Jan. The Lodge was perfect and just the right size for the two of us as we stayed in the Jay. The bathroom was far bigger than expected and a lovely shower. The hot tub being covered was lovely and meant we could use anytime. Fantastic to watch the stars in the sky in the evening and the sun setting. The location is great and is a great base to lots of places. We will be back. Thank you

This lodge is amazing value for money if you are looking for a total chill out, and ideal for families. In fact the new word of the week during our holiday "chill axing" as stated by our 6yr old.
We were in No 7 very large spacious lodge with added extras. TV in every bedroom and an x box in the living room, kept the boys happy and their dad.
A brilliant 4 days spent chilling out in the countryside, you couldn't ask for better.

Woodpecker VIP is an amazing lodge, very spacious and clean. Even when it rained the whole week, we sat outside on the verandah and listened to the rain, as well as use the covered hot tub (which is huge also!). This is the second lodge weve stayed in and I will definitely be returning to this one.

Date of stay: 26th May 2017
Would be good to have a fan in the lodge in the summer they get very hot. But apart from that amazing
Jean, Crawley
Date of stay: 22nd May 2017
Although the lodge had two bedrooms the living area was only really comfortable for two - which was fine for us.

Didn't really like sharing the bathroom with the hoover and mop bucket although can appreciate there wasn't really anywhere else to put it.

The position of the hot tub was great - very private and within its own garden area.
Date of stay: 1st May 2017
Lovely place visit, will stay here again.
Tammy, Wales
Date of stay: 1st May 2017
The lodge was lovely and clean except few marks On the bathroom floor which didnt make a difference to us. Think the shower could be slightly bigger but apart from that. All good. We just missed having a hot tub. Next time we will book a lodge with a hot tub.
Date of stay: 28th April 2017
The lodge was spotless. My only negatives are that for a luxury VIP lodge you wouldn't expect the bathrobes to have holes and rips in. The hot tap in the kitchen sink did not work and the hot water in the shower was intermittent
Darcey, Manchester
Date of stay: 21st April 2017
It was absolutely amazing.
Susan, Welshpool
Date of stay: 13th March 2017
We had a lovely time relaxing on this quiet tranquil site. The lodge had everything we needed but was looking a little tired in some areas! One of the settees needed replacing as it was quite damaged across the back and had a hole in the arm. The bathroom door was splattered with toothpaste. The outside area was great with a lovely veranda and an enclosed area around the amazing hot tub. Many happy relaxing hours were spent in the hot tub which was the highlight of the holiday.
Joanne, Bridgend
Date of stay: 13th March 2017
A light above the hot tub would be the only thing I could suggest that would improve things.
Jodie, Cardiff
Date of stay: 13th March 2017
Fantastic lodge with great cleanliness and everything needed for self catering. The hot tub was also very clean and always hot!
Matthew, Southport
Date of stay: 3rd March 2017
Very friendly welcome. Best lodge weve been to, very cosy and the covered hot tub is a great idea, not many have this. Also a covered porch so you can sit at the front and watch the day go by even in the pouring rain. The village is a 10 minute walk away with a nice pub. We wanted to relax for a few days and thats exactly what we did. Perfect. Thank you!

The lodges are very comfortable, nicely furnished with a comfortable bed. Good water pressure for the shower, and a very well equipped kitchen. Good size decking area catches the sun for most of the day, and of course the hot tub is just the icing on the cake.

The surrounding village is very nice and quiet; it has a couple of nice pubs/ restaurants to chill out in and quite a few take-aways.
The hot-tub was amazing and I'd definitely get one if you can...we were using it 3 times a day and felt very relaxed.

Date of stay: 23rd October 2015
Felt the living space was a squeeze but the bedrooms were huge, I think if four people were sharing it would be tight. Needed to move the sofa to sit at the table.

We didn't use the fire as we had a crawling baby with us and no fire guard but I can imagine it would feel lovely snugly and cosy in the evenings.

Comfortable beds and sofas.

We hired a highchair and travel cot, both clean and in perfect condition.

It was clean, but needed some updating, particularly the bathroom, needed to keep well ventilated just felt a bit musty.

kitchen had everything you could need.

Hot tub was fantastic and well maintained, and felt very private nobody overlooking you.

lots of outside space, would be lovely in the summer months and an impressive looking bbq. Liked that the outside area was all fenced so if you had little kids you knew they'd be safe but not able to annoy others on the site.

Some fairy light or something around the hot tub pergola thing would have just given it that extra nice touch.

We thought the addition of a heated towel rail would have really helped, particularly as we were there in October when not really able to dry our towels outside.

Would stay again, but without the baby as living and kitchen space was small and open plan and had to constantly keep her away from the kitchen/hot oven.
Chloe, Port Talbot
Date of stay: 12th October 2015

Date of stay: 27th December 2014
The acommodation was quite small and the walls very thin, we could hear every word our daughter was saying and she was talking very quietly.

The cabin has everything you need, it is just a bit cramped, may have been better to have made the bedrooms smaller to give more room in the bathroom and front area.

Also - wifi is mentioned but it is actually just a Wifi hotspot near cabin number 1 so if you are far away you can't get it at all, we had to stand outside to pick up a signal - we were very impressed considering we had emailed prior to arrival to check we would be able to get wifi as we wanted to contact family abroad via skype on Christmas day.

The heating is lovely though and works wonders.

Very good. We will be coming back.
Arrived early 2.30 and were told "no problem help yourselves. See you about 4.00 pm for hot tub instructions."

Date of stay: 7th November 2014
Very impressed with the accommodation. Nice and spacious for 2 people. The little bottle of wine, soaps and biscuits were a nice and unexpected touch. It was great to have central heating and the bed was also pretty comfortable. The location was convenient to access local shops and explore the area. The rubbish and recycling could be better organised.

My wife and I were looking for somewhere to get away from it all for a few days of complete r & r. We were certainly not disappointed with what we found at Heronstone's lovely little Kestral VIP lodge. It was cosy, quiet and despite being part of a small site with other lodges fairly close by, it had a real feeling of total seclusion, especially in the fantastic hot tub at the rear of the lodge on the decked veranda. The staff were extremely helpful and Steve the owner even went above and beyond when my wife left her e-reader behind, by packaging it up and couriering it back to our home address at his own expense. I cannot recommend Heronstone Lodges highly enough if you are looking for a totally relaxing getaway. We will definitely be returning in the near future

Unfortunately I had to sleep in a bunk bed, which as an adult was not very comfortable (bedroom clearly for children only). However my friend got the main bedroom, with TV and double bed, which was very comfortable apparently. Sofas very small so a footstall would have been nice.
Very clean. Towels and bed linen smelt lovely!

We had a wonderful stay, weather was nice majority of the time so made the most of the nearby places to either walk or chill out, lots of things to do within a 10 minute drive away, and the beach is only a 40 minute drive away which isn't too bad either. Couldn't fault the cabin it was amazing, and Steve was extremely helpful.

The lodge has everything you need for a great stay, everything is spotless and very comfortable, there are nice touches with presentation and complementary items you would expect to find in a luxury hotel, then the added bonus of the Hot Tub, this is a luxury I wouldn't want to be without, so relaxing!

We went away top celebrate our first Anniversary & had a lovely time. The hot tub was an amazing way to celebrate with a glass of champagne & was ready to use as soon as we arrived. The kitchen was well equipped & it was nice that a few luxuries were provided such as shampoos etc.

the owl lodge, what a lovely lodge, we all really enjoyed the cosyness and the hot tub xx
Date of stay: 3rd March 2014
Lodge was lovely, very clean and cosy. The hot tub was spacious as there was only two of us. The kitchen was fully kitted out with microwave, cooker, toaster and complete set of plates and cutlery. The only negative I found was that the two sofas were very small even if they were two seaters, it was cramped if there was two of you sat on the same sofa.
Ashlea, Cartledge

The Owl Lodge was amazing, nice and spacious with everything you could need, it even had an Xbox which we wasn't expecting. Nice and private with an amazing hot tub.

Hersonstone Lodges are situated in an ideal place for touring around the Brecon Beacons, The Gower and many other local attractions. We spent an ideal four days there and the lodge was also ideal, lovely and warm, and very comfortable.
Can’t fault the lodges or the situation, all good.
Lovely and quite , fantastic views from hot tub , shame there's a roof over it can't see stars at night . But great way to relax .
We had a lovely time and will definitely be returning
Lovely location, beautiful lodge
We had a lovely week here during the end of March. The staff couldn't do enough to help, when our boiler failed, they sorted it out straight away, and when it failed for a second time they upgraded our accommodation.
Fantastic from start to finish. Unable to find any faults in the holiday. Highly recommend, thank you and we will be returning!
Thoroughly enjoyed the weekend, beautiful surroundings. Needed a car for in the day to go and adventure but in evening walked down to local village pubs/social club. Great friendly people had a great couple of evenings and made very welcome.
Fabulous place, staff were friendly, clean accomodation. Excellent price once you take the insurance and extras off that herenstone add on and dont tell you unless you request a breakdown
Amazing break - would love to return. Lovely area, helpful owner, comfy, cosy little lodge!
