Had a wonderful week at Goddards Mead! The place is super cosy and well-stocked with all the essentials. The hosts really made us feel at home and even though its on a working farm, its so peaceful-like a little escape from everything. Lovely stay!

We had a really lovely time at this cottage. Its tucked away on a working farm, but feels super private and peaceful. Robert and Sharon are such charming hosts, making us feel right at home. The place itself is huge, with a well-equipped kitchen and a comfy bed that we didnt want to leave. The garden is perfect for dogs, totally private and furnished nicely. Plenty of walks nearby and we enjoyed dining out at The Star and The Maypole in Thaxted. Highly recommend!

The place was pretty good overall, but the cleaning process at the end was a bit of a hassle. Having to strip beds and tidy up before 9am was a bit much, honestly. Still, we enjoyed our stay!

Our weekend stay was just perfect! The place really hit all the right notes for us and were already planning to visit again. The garden was great for the dogs and they couldnt get enough of the underfloor heating - Luna even strained her tail from all the wagging! Happy pups, happy humans and a lovely break all round.

Date of stay: 8th November 2024
We had a really lovely stay at this cosy little place. The location is quite private and peaceful, with stunning views around. The owners were super friendly and always available if we needed anything, but they kept a respectful distance to preserve the privacy. The hot tub was a real highlight, especially after a long day of cycling. One thing to note is that the cottage sits directly under Stansteds flight path, so theres quite a bit of noise from the planes. It didnt bother us much after a while, but its worth mentioning if youre sensitive to noise. Overall, wed definitely go back!

The hot tub was spotless and the setting in the woods was just gorgeous and super peaceful. The staff, especially Maria, were so friendly and helpful - she made us feel right at home. Well definitely return, no doubt about it!

The lodge was really spacious and the hot tub was fantastic-spotless and relaxing! There were a few cobwebs here and there when you looked closer, so some extra TLC wouldnt hurt. Overall, its a lovely place to stay and wed happily return. Highly recommend!

We recently stayed at this charming cottage on a working farm and it was such a peaceful spot. The owners, Robert and Sharon, are lovely and make you feel really welcome. The place itself is surprisingly spacious, with well-equipped kitchens and bathrooms. The bed was super comfy and the garden is perfect for dogs, totally private and nicely furnished. Plenty of walks nearby and Thaxted has some cracking eateries like The Star and The Maypole. Wed definitely recommend it!

We had such a lovely stay at this place! The location is really peaceful and private, perfect for a quiet getaway. The owners were super friendly and made sure we had everything we needed without intruding. The hot tub was a real highlight after a long day of cycling - absolutely loved it. One thing to keep in mind though, the cottage is right under Stansteds flight path, so theres quite a bit of aircraft noise. It didnt bother us much once we got used to it, but might be worth considering if noise bothers you. All in all, a great find!

We stayed at the lodge recently and honestly, it was just right for a relaxing getaway. The space is cosy but well thought out - the bedrooms are a good size with wardrobes, dressing tables, lamps, a long mirror and a hairdryer, so we had everything we needed. I did find the pillows a bit firm, so Id probably bring my own next time, but thats just personal preference. The bathroom was spacious and the shower was brilliant-powerful and warm, just how we like it. The kitchen is compact but had almost everything, although I did miss having a whisk! The lounge was comfy, with two sofas and a TV, perfect for unwinding. The garden was a real highlight - dogs loved it and we enjoyed sitting outside with the wildlife, watching birds and squirrels, soaking up the sunshine. Ending each day in the hot tub was just perfect. Wed definitely recommend it and cant wait to come back!

David
Stayed for a few days with the wife, whilst exploring the area on a motorbike. Stunning area around the Brecon Beacons. Staff were excepionally helpful and friendly. Their local knowlegde was helpful. The lodge its self was a good size for 2 and the hot tub, was hot and checked twice a day. The decor and funiture is a bit dated and could do with updating, apart from that, a thouroughly great location and the staff made all the difference. Would recommend to anyone.
David
Excellent quiet stay with helpful staff, recommended A+
Charlotte
Lovely relaxing stay. We had lovely weather, so managed to make use of the BBQ and the hot tub was great too. The lodge itself was spacious and had everything you could need and was very private from the neighbouring lodges.
Samantha

Tracey

We have visited a number of Hoseasons locations in the past and this latest break came well up to expectations. The hot tub was a new and pleasant experience. The staff were very helpful with local knowledge and overall service. The lodge was warm, comfortable and well equipped and the general information and instruction pack was clear and simple. We were very pleased with our break.
Edmund
Excellent accomodation an location . We had our cycles with us and found some excellent traffic free routes right from the lodge . The staff were very friendly and welcoming, the site manager was very informative with her local knowledge and advised us of some excellent walking and cycling routes .
Harry
Great location, easy access to many wonderful waterfalls and local produce. Everything is close by too. Very private setting, hot tub feature is a must, fantastic hot shower - every day, never failed me!, can do with so more mod cons, update of comfy beds etc - however lovely place and has a Great local pub down the road too with homemade food. The Heronstone site has excellent staff, very friendly and they always answered my queries. Definitely recommend and hope to visit again soon ?.
