Villa was excellent and everything worked as it should.Only negative I have is that whoever cleans it should use a tool on the vacuum cleaner down the side of the sofa cushions. Was a bit gross!

Unfortunately the bed was broken which I noticed straight away but was too late to do anything about at that time. This was fixed immediately when I notified reception in the morning. The mattress on the other hand was the most uncomfortable I think Ive ever been on!!

As I previously said could do with a few more plug points only had a double in the main bedroom with it not being at the side of the bed but by the door and didn't find any in the single bedroom which could be problematic with kids if they rely on a light in the night

There were several heaters not working. One light in the bathroom wasnt working. The furniture and fittings are getting a little old and will need replacing in the next few years. On the whole the villa was well equipped and comfortable for the three of us.

A couple of points to highlight. If you are staying in any of the old manor house apartments; there is no lift and therefore suitcases etc will need to be carried up several flights of stairs. WiFi in these (grade 2 listed) apartments is very limited and not worth the extra fees. The double bedrooom would benefit from an additional bedside cabinet and a couple of lamps (one each side of the bed). One of the storage heaters appears to be stuck on seven degrees so in winter the flat could be very cold.

Lovely place shame about the weather. Roads around are a bit narrow and only one lake is fishable.

Really lovely lodge. This was a bigger one and it was huuuuge! All the bedrooms were very good size and very spacious lounge. Condition was also good, kitchen a little tired maybe but good quality bathrooms, carpets decor and very comfy beds. 2 disadvantages were restaurant was closed on the Monday with no warning and lanes were very narrow and winding if approaching from A30 side, recommend coming in from A39.

Everything needed for a short stay away. Clean and comfortable, twin beds a comfortable size and not the narrow ones you get elsewhere. Overall very happy with the lodge and its facilities.

Stayed in the Maids Quarter. Lovely and comfortable and clean. Beds were comfortable. Need to be fit to negotiate the stairs to this accommodation but there were a couple of windowsills that were welcome perching spots . Overall well worth the money

Cleanliness of the apartment was good and they were good when had to come out to clean up the leak. Sofas were nice but as they were leather in the evenings were cold so we had to wrap up to sit on them. Beds, kids didn;t have a problem but the double bed was so stiff we had bad backs and my husband had a sore neck from it. Ensuit shower and the big bathroom were great. Tv was basic Tv but we only used it about an hour in the morning and a little bit in the evening so we didn't mind

Our holiday was adequate. Bad first impressions with the restaurant - waited over an hour for food, our first choices out of stock, no ketchup, meals were mediocre, no veg on the childrens meals. Meals were not worth what we paid for them. This poor show put us off going there again.Log cabin was a nice location, we were pleased to look out over the green space, although it was quite tired inside. The place sleeps six but we couldnt fit six on the sofas, and one of the sofas was broken for most of our stay, (it was replaced on the last day). Bathroom was also tired and in need of a refurb. The mattress in the master bedroom was life expired and neither of us slept well on it. We even rotated the mattress, but really it needs replacing. Childrens play area didnt have a lot in it, tennis courts need a refurb /resurface. Swimming pool was of a good standard, although not enough changing rooms to turf everyone out of the pool at the same time. We were shocked that WiFi was not included in the price, (I.e. over £1000!) WiFi wouldve been another £18 ish on top. A lot of things couldve be improved upon, for not a lot of money /effort /time. We felt it seemed it wasnt about the customer experience, it was about minimising staff and maximising how much they could make out of each customer.

We booked here for a 4 night stay with 2 young children. We were initially bringing our dog with us so booked a pet friendly "gold" villa but decided to leave her at home in the end. This villa certainly is not what we would class as "gold". When we got there after check in time we were told our villa wasn't ready and to wait another 30mins or so. 2 minutes later we were told that it actually was ready, no big deal we were just happy to be able to get the kids settled after a long journey, so off we went to the villa. And this is where the problems started. As soon as we opened the door we were hit with the smell of stale cigarette smoke and the most awful smell of wet dog! Windows were opened straight away as we have a child with asthma. Yes we expected there to be a doggy smell with it being a pet friendly villa but omg this was the type of smell you'd expect in a place that doesn't get cleaned and has a dog that's never had a bath. There was dog hair left under furniture which a curious 16month old easily found while wanting to crawl around, there was dog hair on the kitchen sides. Had we brought pur dog with us the decking would have been unsafe for her as the gate on it would have allowed and dog to get out as it didnt go anywhere near the ground so she would have fitted under it. Obviously we made reception aware and the response was "oh.....sorry about that", we couldn't move villa.Fast forward to settling down for the night and for somewhere that says pets are not allowed on the soft furnishings they might want to try reinforce this or atleast deep clean the furnishings once in a while. All we could smell off the furniture was dog, this was on the couches and ALL of the beds!Again we told reception about the smell, especially off the bedding, and was told that the bedding wouldnt smell because it is sourced off site by an external company, it STANK! On our second day we went to get lunch from the restaurant as our welcome pack advised it was open for lunch to get there and be told it doesn't open til 4, that's hardly lunch time. The arcade is mediocre and is not bigger than a double bedroom and pretty rubbish machines. The pool was warm at best. The complex isn't ideal for families at all as there is nothing for kids to do really and other guests really do not care who they keep awake. In the end we cut our stay short as the final straw was when we came back from a day out we were met with the smell of sewerage coming from the sinks and toilets. When we got home all clothes, even if they werent worn or taken out of bags stank of dog, that's how bad the smell was. We have a long-haired double coated breed of dog, and never in a million years has she made our home or clothes smell as bad as that "gold" villa did.

We stayed in Villa number 3. It was not a great experience. Things like carpet torn up from the edge of one of the stairs, with an exposed staple poking through and my daughter scratching her foot on it. No decent coffee making facilities, a simple cafetiere would be useful for someone who hates instant coffee. The patio being overrun with yellow ants (a kettle full of hot water soon fixed that). The main thing though is the furniture within the villa was far below the standard I would expect for the price paid. The sofas are fake leather/vinyl, which is not good for a hot summer, they are also bending in the middle. All the beds creak with the slightest movement, the the outside table is virtually unusable if there is more that two of you, as the patio is too small to be able to get around the table safely. Most of the patio stones were lose, with no clear or safe steps up onto the patio.

Would not recommend booking this holiday. It was an old flat, smelt like dog with no option to open windows. It wasnt clean, limescale on the bathroom. The bed was so uncomfortable, you can hear everything from the people staying upstairs. No towels or bath mats. The sofas were uncomfortable and you get no WiFi. Never again.

The flat where we stay was good, however a few repairs need to be done. I reported them to the receptionist before I left.We were unable to use the swimming pool, as it needed to be reserved and it was only for 45 mins. I booked it once and then someone from the reception said it was closed. When I popped in the reception the following day, they said the swimming pool wasnt closed. However, that day I was in the reception it was closedThe facilities looked nice the lake and garden were lovely.Overall a good place to come and relax. Good value for money.
