Visitor Reviews of Manor Lakes at Hengar Manor

Date of stay: 2nd September 2025
I booked this Lodge for my daughter and her family. It was a better size than shown by the pictures on Hoseasons website. It would have been better if the website had shown a plan view of the property. It was generally good apart from a pet urine smell in the smaller bedroom.

The Lodge was good and comfortable, in a lovely position overlooking the lake. However the oven was not very efficient, meals took much longer to cook. Also it was a bit annoying that there was only one key to the Lodge.

Beautiful lodge in a tranquil setting. These lodges have a washer dryer, which is god send. Beds not overly comfortable though.

Lodge was lovely. Must have been redecorated since the photos as looks different but nicer! Great location and lots of green space. Hot water a bit dodgy but otherwise a fab stay!

The caravan itself was lovely in beautiful surroundings but sadly we were let down by the awful beds. I'd seen a few reviews saying it but thought it would just be cheap mattresses, and we booked a more expensive manor lakes property thinking this would be better, however we could feel every spring. The 1st night we had to sleep on the twin beds as the carpet in the main room was too wet from cleaning so not great for our baby. Both the King bed and twins were awful. Also the blinds didn't block out much light at all so it was so light in all the rooms from about 4 am till 10pm again not ideal for a baby.

A nice lodge with a modern, light and airy feel, but we found it a bit on the small side compared to others we had stayed in on this trip. The view from the lounge area was lovely and there were seats and a table on the decking. The lodge wasn't as well equipped as others we have stayed at. Towels, tea towels and oven gloves are not provided by the park although Hoseasons webite says towels are provided and we even had to go out and buy a pair of kitchen scissors as none were provided. That said it was clean and tidy when we arrived and has its own parking space next to the lodge. Unfortunately we didn't find the beds very comfortable. We were contacted by the park during our stay to see if everything was ok and they were willing to try to resolve the bed issue, but they did say they didn't know if they had a spare mattress.

Plus points- lovely setting and potential to be a super park. The lodge itself was beautiful.Fluffy robe and slippers provided which was a nice touch.Park seemed well kept.Lovely and quiet.Negative points- Got there at 4 to be told room not ready. When we got to the lodge it was obvious they had been rushing as towels and mini shower gels just dumped in lounge and no bin bags in bins.A lot of the cutlery in the drawer was dirty. The mattress in the double room was extremely uncomfortable and could feel springs. Only 1 pillow each provided. In the ensuite the shower minimum was still boiling hot.No oven glove provided. Also surprised tea towel not provided when towels were. The sofas in this lodge looked good but were weirdly uncomfortable as very deep seat pads but low back.Overall this could have been perfect if not for hurried cleaning and mattresses and shower temp need reviewing asap.

We stayed at The Skylark recently and honestly, it was quite a find! The place was spotless and presented beautifully, which is so important when travelling with pets. The modern decor made everything feel fresh and bright, really cant complain about that. Having two bathrooms was such a bonus, especially with everyone getting ready at the same time. We also appreciated the handy extras like the hoover, washing machine and dishwasher-really made things easier. The balcony was a real highlight; the view was stunning and the furniture was clean and stylish. If we had to suggest anything, maybe some extra pillows would be nice and a couple of bedside lights would make night-time routines easier, since the main switch is on the opposite wall. Also, a mirror in the bedroom would be handy, especially for drying hair! Still, a lovely stay overall!

The skylark was clean and well presented for a pet friendly accommodation which is very important to us. The decor was modern and gave a light and airy feel. Having two bathrooms was brilliant and a hoover, washing machine and dishwasher also very useful. The only things that could be improved on would be extra pillows as only one per bed, bedside lights for main bedroom as the main switch is in the opposite wall and mirrors in the bedroom as the only mirrors in this property are in the bathroom and this isnt ideal when everyone is getting up and ready also hard to use hairdryer with no mirrors. The balcony provided a perfect view and furniture is clean and modern.

Overall, a good stay. The place was new, clean and had everything we needed. The wine cooler was a bit pointless and quite noisy though!

A few design floors. But new nice and clean had all you need. Think the wine cooler was unnecessary and annoyingly loud

We had a lovely stay in this caravan! It was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. The beds were comfy despite the thin mattresses and we only wished there were more pillows-just one each and quite thin, so bringing your own might help. We enjoyed the pool and the restaurant; both were great, though the restaurant is a bit on the pricey side. Definitely recommend having a car to get around easily. Overall, a good trip!

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The lodge was lovely and fresh, but it would have been better with a mirror in each room and a little stool to sit on. Would stay again!
