Folly Farm began as a dairy farm and has grown into an award-winning family attraction with four areas: a farmyard, a zoo, an undercover vintage funfair with a Wurlitzer organ, and play areas. The zoo has over 200 species, including African lions, Humboldt and Macaroni penguins, and critically endangered eastern black rhinos in Kifaru Reserve.

Cardigan Castle overlooks the River Teifi in the town of Cardigan. The site dates back to the late 11th century and was rebuilt in 1244. Rhys ap Gruffydd rebuilt it in stone, and in 1176 the first recorded eisteddfod was held here. After years of decay, it was restored and opened to the public.
Tip: There is no on-site parking for day visitors, so use the car park at the bottom of Quay Street, a minute's walk away.

Pembroke Castle sits on a rocky promontory beside the Milford Haven Waterway, in the centre of Pembroke. It was the original family seat of the Earldom of Pembroke and is Grade I listed. William Marshal rebuilt it in stone after 1189, creating most of the structure that remains today.

Carew Castle stands on a limestone bluff overlooking the Carew inlet, part of the Milford Haven Waterway. It began as a Norman stone keep around 1100 and was rebuilt and extended over the centuries, so you can see several architectural styles in one place.
Tip: Look for the Tudor range on the north side, and find the tidal mill, the only restored one in Wales.

Step into the clifftop Laugharne home where Dylan Thomas lived and wrote during his last four years.
The Boathouse in Laugharne is where Dylan Thomas lived with his family between 1949 and 1953. Set in a cliff overlooking the Tâf estuary, it is now a museum run by Carmarthenshire County Council. The interior has been returned to its 1950s appearance, with a recording of Thomas's voice playing in the background, and it holds memorabilia and some original furniture, including his father's desk.
Tip: Visit the writing shed close to the main house, where Thomas did most of his writing, and look across the estuary that inspired "Over Sir John's Hill".

Manorbier Castle is a Norman enclosure castle on a natural coastal promontory, about five miles southwest of Tenby. It has curtain walls with round and square towers, and a tower gateway with a portcullis leads into the inner ward. A postern gate once gave access to the beach and the sea.

Carmarthen Castle is a ruined medieval fortress in the county town of Carmarthen, on a high terrace overlooking the tidal River Towy. It began as an early 1100s timber motte and bailey, was rebuilt in stone and was captured, destroyed and rebuilt many times. Owain Glyndŵr took it in 1405, and Henry VII's father, Edmund Tudor, died here as a prisoner in 1456.

We had a fantastic week at the cottage with our two mini daschunds. They loved making new friends in the charming village of Thaxted, which was a real highlight for us. The place itself is lovely, especially the hot tub - a real treat, especially during the hot weather when the cooled water felt so refreshing! The hosts were super friendly and welcoming and it was nice to see their dogs being taken out to the fields everyday. Being close to Stansteds flight path was interesting too, watching the planes land. Would definitely recommend!

We had a lovely week here in July with our two small dachshunds, who really seemed to enjoy their time. The village of Thaxted is charming and the cottage itself is cosy with a great hot tub-perfect for those scorching days when the water was just right after being cooled. The hosts were super welcoming and it was nice to see them taking their horses out each day. Being near Stansteds flight path was interesting, watching the planes come in. All in all, wed definitely recommend this place for a relaxed getaway!
We had a lovely stay at this cottage tucked away on a working farm and its surprisingly private. The owners, Robert and Sharon, are genuinely lovely people. The place is really spacious, with well-equipped kitchen and bathroom and the bed was super comfy. The garden is perfect for dogs - private, secure and nicely furnished. Plenty of walks nearby and Thaxted has some cracking restaurants like The Star and The Maypole. Wed definitely recommend it!

A superb holiday, this was the first time I had been on a caravan holiday so I was a bit apprehensive. However, I needn't have worried because on arrival we were met with a smile and directed to our caravan which was exceptionally clean and almost new.
The staff were polite and very helpful. Fishguard and the surrounding area are lovely and we are hoping to come back maybe next year. The only regret we have is not booking two weeks instead of one week because we enjoyed it so much. Thank you Hoeseasons and the Fishguard staff.

We booked this holiday because we wanted rest for a week. My husband fell and needed to recharge his batteries he s 80.
The park was very clean and pretty clap for the gardeners and also the caravans, couldn't fault them.
It wasn't much of a tourist area so the roads were quiet too but lots of interesting places to see. Restaurants and shops were within walking distance and a good variety.
The heated swimming pool was ideal, not too deep, clean and rela ING area. Pity the bar was only open at weekends.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, however if you had a family you might not have e joyed it so much as their was no playarea, children were ot catered for.
