Dreamland is an amusement park and entertainment centre built around a traditional English seaside funfair in Margate, Kent. The site has hosted amusement rides since 1880, and the Dreamland name dates from 1920, when the Grade II* listed Scenic Railway wooden rollercoaster opened. The park was restored and reopened in 2015 after years of closure, following a public campaign to save it.

The Shell Grotto is an underground passageway in Margate, dug out of chalk and decorated almost from top to bottom with shell mosaics. Around 4.6 million shells cover roughly 2,000 square feet of wall and roof. A winding passage leads down to a rotunda and on to a rectangular altar chamber, with a shaft that lets in a little daylight.
Tip: There is no car park at the grotto. Try the surrounding residential roads, or the Trinity Square pay and display car park (CT9 1QY). It has no step-free access, and large bags must be left at reception.

Howletts is a wild animal park in the parish of Bekesbourne, near Canterbury, set in about 90 acres of ancient parkland. It opened to the public in 1975 and is run by a charity, the Aspinall Foundation, so your ticket goes towards its conservation work.
Tip: Book online in advance: it gives you access to the park's wet weather policy. Check the talk and feeding boards by the gatehouse when you arrive.

Wildwood is a woodland discovery park on the A291 between Herne Bay and Canterbury. Its 40 acres sit within the larger West Blean woods and are home to around fifty native British species. It is run as a conservation charity, and the trust has been involved in bringing European bison back to Blean Woods.
Tip: Parking is free, but space for coaches and minibuses is limited in peak seasons. Dogs, including guide dogs, are not allowed.

The Powell-Cotton Museum sits in Quex Park, Birchington, and holds the collections of explorer Percy Powell-Cotton and his two daughters. Its natural history dioramas are the main draw, including a primate display that has yet to be equalled in Europe for size and diversity. Gallery 2 is the original 1896 pavilion, thought to be the oldest unchanged room-sized diorama.

very nice caravan.
Absolutely spotless and lovely, very nice additions to the caravan with playing cards, board games and coasters all being included. But, we were unable to use the hot water without turning the heating on, which was awful on hot days. It could have also done with another way to dry clothes outside :) But overall, it was lovely and i would stay here again.
Really enjoyed our time here. The place was spotless, had everything we needed and the hot tub was a highlight!

We had a fantastic time! Sharon and Robert were absolutely lovely hosts and made us feel so at home. The place was spotlessly clean, comfy and perfect for our dog Archie - he loved it! The location was just right, with loads of nice walks around and some charming villages nearby, like Thaxted. Honestly, we left feeling refreshed and relaxed, so its definitely somewhere wed come back to. Great break overall!

The cottage itself is really charming and the hot tub was a real treat, especially during those scorching days-perfect for cooling off! The hosts were super friendly and made us feel very welcome, which was nice. Watching the planes land near Stansted from the property was surprisingly entertaining, even if it's close to the flight path. Overall, wed definitely recommend for a peaceful getaway with your pets or just for a relaxing break!

The underfloor heating was a hit with our dogs, especially Luna, who couldnt stop wagging her tail! The garden was perfect for them to run around. Were already planning to come back soon. We genuinely enjoyed our stay! The staff were super friendly and really helpful, which made a big difference. There was plenty to keep the kids entertained and overall, the place was spotless and well-kept. We did notice a few bits outside the caravan that needed some TLC, but nothing major. Understandably, some things were off-limits because of COVID, so we werent expecting everything to be perfect. We didnt try the restaurant, so cant comment on the food. The kids ice cream was a highlight-though one took about 15 mins longer to arrive than the other! Definitely planning to come back again.

The cottage itself is really cosy and well-kept, especially loved the hot tub - perfect for cooling off during the hot summer days. The hosts are genuinely friendly and welcoming and it was nice to see their dogs being taken out to the fields each day. Birchington Vale is a very nice site with lovely caravans and lodges. Also camping pods which were very popular. The staff were very helpful and nice and cheerful when I was walking the dog at 5.30am.
Great place and friendly staff. Very clean especially the pool and entertainment area toilets.

Despite the covid climate, we had a great time! Staff were friendly and entertainment was good. Our caravan was brand new. Only negative was the low water pressure meant no heating until about 10pm which was very cold!
