Visitor Reviews of Beechwood Park

Sarah
Date of stay: 5th June 2023
We stayed in two lodges and honestly, only one was decent. The other one (no.9) was in pretty poor shape and needed a lot of fixing up. The outside decking was rotten and a real health hazard. We reported the lack of hot water, but it never got fixed. The kitchen floor near the cooker was rotten, which was quite concerning. There was a disgusting towel on the floor that looked like it had been excrement and we also found a facemask behind one of the bedroom doors - lovely. One of the dining chairs was broken and couldve collapsed if someone sat on it. None of the blinds worked, so they stayed shut all the time and cobwebs were visible in every corner. Utensils were lacking too - no scissors or microwavable bowls. The small fridge/freezer in no.9 was barely big enough for 6 people. Outside, the wooden structures just needed a good clean - covered in cobwebs and dirt. If you get a new lodge, then its fine - but otherwise, not great!

The lodge was lovely overall, but we did miss some kitchen essentials like egg cups, a proper measuring jug and a sharper knife beyond the bread one. Still, nice stay!

The lodge was really comfy and spacious, kept lovely and warm. Only snag was the missing tin opener, but the staff sorted it out quickly. Cheers!

The lodge itself was lovely, really comfy and clean. The DVD player was a bit of a letdown, though, since it didn't work the first night. Luckily, Sharon sorted it out pretty quickly once we mentioned it. Can't fault her at all-she was really helpful. Overall, a great stay with just a small hiccup, which was sorted fast. Would definitely recommend!

The place was really nice overall, but the sofa was a bit uncomfortable after a while. We were six, so an extra armchair wouldve been handy. Also, there wasnt enough kitchenware for cooking proper meals, but apart from that, it was lovely!

Overall, we had a good stay. The only downside was the electricity charge, but it was simple to keep costs down and we got a refund for what we didnt use. Wed definitely come back!

The accommodation was generally to a very good standard and well equipped the only problem was that in December time you would expect the electric fire to be functional but did not even have a lead on it

The overall cabin was beautiful with just enough space for two people. It had a lovely warm electric fire and a comfy bed!

The Finch Lodge was compact but perfect for a couple wanting a quiet weekend. The lodge leaned towards the basic side since they don't have a dishwasher and only left a tea towel (no dish cloth or soap), but at this price, thats to be expected. Just be sure to pack those items if you plan on cooking as well. There were plenty of crockery, cutlery and pans, although I found it tough with just one oven tray. The bedroom, though compact, has a wardrobe on both sides of the bed and even a dressing table fitted in. For the price, the lodge is really good value and we will be staying again!

Fantastic location, really comfy accommodation and when we spoke to the staff, they sorted out our requests quickly. Not sure if we were there out of season, but the shop was closed the whole time. There were fishing lakes where you could buy a licence.
We were really lucky that our stay aligned with a wood craft fair at a local castle - it was brilliant and we had a great time.
We would definitely stay there again. Many thanks to the staff!

So clean and comfy! We just switched the heater on first thing in the morning and it heated the whole cabin quickly. Only used fivers worth of electric for 7 days!

Very nice interior to Woodpecker. The mugs in the kitchen were chipped and we had no choice but to put £20 on the meter (we only used £10 and no refund) but no other negatives at all. Thanks!

We stayed at this place during a rainy December and honestly, its a gem. The house is super well equipped and kept us cosy all weekend. The bath is perfect for relaxing after a long day and the shower is really spacious. The location is ideal for dogs - no fireworks worries here. And despite being near a flight path, it was totally peaceful. Thanks a lot!
