GREAT LODGE

Absolutely fantastic accommodation, so comfortable and clean

We loved staying here! The cottage was cosy and the peaceful setting was perfect for us. The hot tub was a real treat after a long day!

We had an amazing stay at this cosy little cottage! Honestly, we didn't need to bring a thing because everything was provided, which was such a relief. The welcome pack was really helpful, full of all the info and menus you could ask for - clearly well thought out. The enclosed garden was perfect for the dogs, who loved every minute of it. The hot tub was a real treat after a long day. Sharon and Robe were super quick to reply to any questions. Thanks for a lovely break, well definitely be back!

We had an excellent stay at this cosy cottage on a working farm and it felt surprisingly private. The owners, Robert and Sharon, are such lovely people, really friendly and welcoming. The place itself is huge, with a well-equipped kitchen and a comfy bed that we didnt want to leave. The garden is perfect for dogs-completely private and nicely furnished. Plenty of walks around and Thaxted has some great restaurants like The Star and The Maypole. Wed definitely recommend it!

We had a fantastic weekend here, exactly what we were after. The place was cosy and perfect for us and our dogs. They really enjoyed the underfloor heating and the garden was a hit! Luna was wagging her tail so much she strained it, but shes fine now. Definitely planning to come back soon. Great spot for a relaxing break!

We had a fantastic stay at this cosy place tucked away in a peaceful spot. The hosts were genuinely friendly and always ready to help if needed, yet they respected our privacy perfectly. The hot tub was a real treat after cycling around the area. Only thing to note is that the cottage is quite close to Stansteds flight path, so aircraft noise is noticeable. It didnt bother us much once we got used to it, but if youre sensitive to noise, its worth considering. Overall, a lovely break!

We booked this place for a dog walk getaway and it was just what we needed. Lovely quality accommodation, plenty of fields nearby and charming pubs within walking distance. The dog loved it, didnt want to leave!

We spent a week here with our two tiny dachshunds and honestly, the place was lovely. The cottage had a really cosy feel and the hot tub was a real highlight, especially during those scorching days when the water was perfectly cooled. The hosts were super friendly and made us feel really welcome. We enjoyed watching the planes land since its right on the flight path near Stansted - quite fun! It was heartwarming to see their dogs being taken out to the fields daily. Definitely a spot wed return to!

The place itself is super cosy, with a great shower and a comfy bed that made us feel right at home. Parking right next to the cottage was a real bonus and the place was spotless. Its perfect for walks around Thaxted and exploring nearby villages with their pretty half-timbered houses. Definitely recommend!

We loved the cosy cottage - just enough remote for peace but still handy for shops and local spots. The hot tub was a highlight and the underfloor heating kept everything super warm. Rob, Sharon and Bonnie were lovely hosts. Cant wait to return for a longer stay soon!

We just got back from a week at Goddards Mead and honestly, it was lovely. The place has everything you could ask for and the hosts are genuinely friendly. Despite being on a working farm, it feels peaceful, like a little escape. We loved it!

Lovely location, very peaceful and relaxing with wonderful walks in the grounds of Burton Constable Hall. Staff very helpful and friendly. We didn’t try the food as it only looked like it was a takeaway and very little choice.

We very much enjoyed our visit. The lodge was very modern and well appointed. The site was clean and well maintained, in a lovely setting and the accessibility to Burton Constable Hall was a bonus. A special mention goes to the staff who were always friendly and helpful. We would certainly holiday there again.

Brilliant location, fantastic scenery and walks, helpful friendly staff, on-site shop that had everything especially the stuff you,ve forgot ! Would also recommend Sunday lunch at the Constable arms.

The staff were amazing and dealt with our needs very fast, efficiently and very friendly. The surroundings are so calm and peaceful and would highly recommend this for anyone wanting to go into the middle of nature and just relax.

We had a super time, everything and everyone was great. We hope to be back one day.

Nice peaceful holiday in a lovely location. Great for exploring Yorkshire with the 2 dogs. Would have been nice to have a dedicated dog walking area (off lead) on site. Dogs also not allowed in the onsite bar/club which is a problem when the weather isn't ideal.
