I cant rate this secluded beauty in the Highlands enough. We stayed in Otter Lodge which was secluded & peaceful. Decorated really nicely, a lot of thought has gone in to the fixtures & fittings, I loved everything about it with a comfy bed , settee & hot tub to relax. Welcome pack of shortbread, tea, coffee, honey & whiskey was a lovely touch to greet you on the table. The wildlife is amazing from your window & balcony with deer, red squirrels & birds. Fresh eggs available at honesty box & fish van calls once a week. Local pub serve nice meals 5 minutes from entrance.. We have stayed in 7 places to date & this is our favourite by far, 100% returning.

The perfect location for relaxing highland getaway. We stayed with two kids and a dog in a riverside lodge, and the sound of the river outside was lovely. It was the perfect size for us. The outside veranda was perfect for eating or relaxing while watching the birds in the trees - which you could also do from inside with the enormous floor to ceiling window in the living area. The hot tub was the perfect size for the four of us. The owners were onsite in reception every day, if you needed anything. We arrived just after Storm Floris, so there was no electricity for the first night, but candlelight and the log fire just added to the adventure. The owners provided us with extra logs for the wood burner and there was a gas hob in the kitchen so we could still cook and make cups of tea (very important!). Just as the kids were starting to panic the next day without chargers and WiFi the electricity was restored, but secretly I think they also enjoyed the fun of a technology-free candlelight nights in the woods. The thing I loved most about our riverside lodge was the feeling you were the only people in the middle of nowhere. From the big living room window and veranda, you couldnt see any other lodges so there was complete privacy. I would love to return again.

Overall a lovely comfortable lodge. Dog friendly. Hot tub was checked daily and was spotlessly clean. Only a small site so very quiet. The area itself is quite remote, beautiful walks especially the squirrel trail. There is a good information pack with local walks. Phone signal poor but there is good wi fi access.

Ive been back twice now with my partner and will certainly plan a third stay in the future. We love how cosy it feels, like a real escape, with gorgeous scenery on the doorstep. Perfect days spent going for a walk (there are so many), spotting wildlife and having a picnic, coming back to the hot tub and a very cosy cabin. Ideal for us.

We had such a great time! The lodge by the river was perfect-serene and stunning. Everything we needed was there, plus a lovely welcome pack. Relaxing in the hot tub with that view was definitely the cherry on top. Can't wait to return; it was just what we needed for some proper R&R!

We had a lovely stay and definitely plan to come back. Next time, were aiming for spring or summer so we can explore those more daring hikes nearby. That said, winter was still perfect for us to relax, reset and enjoy quality family time. The dogs absolutely loved it too - they were in their element! We really didnt want to leave.

Overall, we had a good stay. The lodge was quite clean, though a few areas showed signs of wear. Its a bit tired and could do with some fresh paint and varnish, but nothing major. Nice enough!
