If I could leave zero stars, I would. Honestly had the worst experience this weekend. Rotten decking, broken and freezing cold hot tub, broken safety railings, filthy cooking appliances. Site maintenance were useless. On the second night, the rotten decking collapsed beneath me (at 34 weeks pregnant this could have been catastrophic). Worst of all, is that despite 19 phone calls to both Hoseasons and the lakes themselves, no one will speak to me. I have emailed a formal complain which has not even received an acknowledgment reply. I would never recommend this run down and filthy accommodation, and would definitely not recommend booking anywhere through Hoseasons as their customer care is non existent.

Honestly, I dont even know where to start. This place was a total nightmare. The decking was rotten and collapsed under me, which was terrifying - especially since Im pregnant and at 34 weeks, that couldve been disastrous. The hot tub was ice cold and broken and the safety railings were all damaged. The kitchen appliances were filthy and clearly hadnt been cleaned in ages. We tried contacting site maintenance, but they were no help at all. We called Hoseasons and the site many times with no response and even emailed a formal complaint thats gone unanswered. Honestly, I wouldnt recommend this dump to anyone. Their customer service is non-existent and the place is just a health hazard.

To start the holiday off, I never received a email/text to let me know where I can get the key from. I had to ask a man who said he was the site manager, he told me nobody have turned up and told me the code for the lock to gain access to the key.Upon entrance the floors were very dirty. So spent 30 minutes hoovering the floors. Finding a dummy, a board game and a child's book along the way. Thought we would stick the kettle on and sit down to unwind, turned the TV on to find the channel babe station on the TV. Opened up the cupboard to get some mugs out to find they still had dirt stains inside them. So then spent another 10 minutes washing up. Then when coming to dry them found the tea towel that was left out had stains all over it.Thought we would check the plates, glasses and cutlery to be disappointed in the same dirty condition. The roads/access to the lodge are very very poor. We had to navigate through pot holes from the main entrance to the lodge. Absolutely disgusting. The area of where the lodge is located is very nice, very relaxing/quiet and private. So can't fault that! Plenty of shops, takeaways/restaurants within arms reach. The ashtrays in the back decking area still filled up with dirty fags. Was very disappointed in the overall experience and was happy to leave at 8am on the departure date. Unfortunately wouldn't recommend to anyone, and will not be going back. It's such a shame.

We had a pretty good stay overall. The lodge really does feel like a home away from home and the owners have done a lovely job with the fixtures and furniture, making it look inviting. The large decking area was a highlight-great chairs, a big table, BBQ and a sunken hot tub, which was lovely to relax in. That said, a bit more attention to detail during cleaning wouldnt hurt; we noticed some dust and touch points that couldve been wiped down better. The BBQ was left quite dirty and mouldy, which was a bit disappointing. Also, only half of the hot tub jets worked and on our last day, they stopped altogether. We know the site management is aware and trying to fix it, but if you're planning on daily hot tub use, it might be a let-down. Still, overall, a nice place to stay!

Fantastic Lodge - Everything you need (home from home) Owners done an excellent job in fixtures & furnitures making it look very welcoming. Very large decking area complete with Chairs, Table, BBQ & Large sunken Hot Tub ???? Only downside we found was, cleaner's could pay more attention to Dust, Touch areas when cleaning, BBQ was left Dirty & Mouldy - in OUR OPINION this is letting the OWNERS down who clearly put a lot of pride in offering a Quality Lodge... & Unfortunately only half of the Hot Tub jets worked & stopped working altogether on last day of our stay.. 31st Oct 2024This is something (hot tub) site management are & was aware of & trying to rectify but if like us your booking with daily hot tub use in mind you could be very disappointed...

We loved the modern vibe and comfy feel, though the beds were a bit firmer than our own at home. Overall, a really nice lodge!

We had a good stay at lodge 4. The hottub was a real highlight and it had everything we needed. Its true it could use a bit of sprucing up, but for the price during the August bank holiday, its pretty decent. Perfect spot for fishing and exploring nearby areas, really good value!

We spent four lovely nights at Upton Lakes with our two kids and it was just perfect. The lodge was spacious, spotless and had some sweet little details that made it special. The kitchen had everything we needed and the views of the lake from the lounge and bedrooms were truly stunning. Everyone loved the hot tub - such a treat! We caught loads of fish, mainly perch and carp, which kept the kids entertained. Theres plenty of shops nearby for essentials and lots of lovely beaches and towns within half an hours drive. Well definitely be back!

This accommodation was unsafe (without running water) and did not meet the advertised specification. The accommodation was advertised as providing:A starter pack of logs, these were not provided and when I asked about them the manager said that there would be a charge.Gas for the BBQ, this was empty on arrival and we had to ask for gas to enable us to use the BBQ.Dressing gowns were not provided, which meant we had to use our bathroom towels when using the hot tub. The sofa bed in the lodge was broken on arrival and we were provided with a fold up foam bed.The most concerning issue however, is the fact that we did not have any water at all for the second day of our holiday and the morning of departure.

Had a 4 night stay: lodge itself was quite old and as such in need of some refurbishments. Although it was more or less clean and did not smell, this did not affect our stay tbh. Location wise would need a car to get around as nothing to do around the site. Internet was intermittent. Hot tub was old/small. On last evening had an issue with the water, it started to come out brown and then stopped, notified site manager, although polite he was not sure of the problem and was unable to sort it and as a result we could not shower in the morning as the hot water pressure was so low and would stop coming out. All in all first 3 days were ok but have stayed at better, shame about the water issue on the last night/morning. Recommend for those who want to be off grid.

We had an amazing 4-night escape, really loved how peaceful and simple everything was. The hot tub was such a treat, perfect for unwinding. The location is ideal for exploring nearby spots like Exeter, Wookey Hole and Darlingtons glass factory - all worth a visit! The limited Wi-Fi was actually quite nice, gave us a proper break from screens. Definitely coming back!

Weve been coming back to this lodge three times now because it really is lovely. The privacy is great and its super easy to get to the lake for a stroll. The only issues are the poor WiFi and spotty TV reception, which isnt a big deal for us. A quick tip - bring an electric fan for the summer nights as it can get quite warm and a sharp knife for preparing food. The staff are fantastic and always ready to help.

Nice lodge, we've stayed here 3 times, the only downside is the lack of TV reception and poor WIFI, but its private and easy to walk out to the lakeside. I advice you take an electric fan for the summer months as the lodge can get very warm at night, also a sharp knife if your planning on cutting meat & veg for cooking. On site staff are brilliant and very helpful.

We stayed in Lodge 10 and honestly, it felt really cosy and welcoming. The place was spotless and the new sofas plus the Ninja kitchen gadgets made it feel modern. The hot tub was spotless too and the BBQ on the deck offered gorgeous views. We're already booking for next year - love it here!

We recently stayed at Upton Lakes and honestly, it was a really lovely break. The lodges had everything we needed and the setting was absolutely breathtaking. Its not luxury, but for the price, you cant really complain. The outdoor furniture was a bit dated, but it didnt ruin the experience-sitting outside with a glass of wine, listening to the birds and watching families of birds with their chicks was just perfect. We booked two lodges-one for us and one for family-and both were quite different but equally nice. The familys lodge had a sauna, though none of us used it, so cant really say much about that. WiFi was pretty limited, but we werent surprised since its in a rural area and we did get sporadic internet which was a bonus. Theres a village nearby with all you could need, including takeaways and a big Tesco for supplies. Overall, we had a relaxing holiday and would definitely come back. The staff were really friendly too!

We recently stayed at Upton Lakes and honestly, it was a pretty relaxing break. The lodges had everything we needed and the setting is absolutely stunning-really peaceful and perfect for unwinding. The outdoor furniture isnt the newest, but it was more than enough to sit outside with a glass of wine and listen to the birds singing, which was lovely. We had two lodges-one for us and another for family, both quite different but nice in their own ways. The familys lodge had a sauna, though we didnt end up using it. WiFi was quite limited, but thats to be expected in such a rural spot and we managed to get some internet now and then, which was a bonus. The nearby village has all you could need-takeaways, a big Tesco, fuel, you name it. Overall, we all enjoyed our stay, it was a really chilled holiday and wed definitely come back. The staff were super friendly too!

We had quite the experience here. The road to the lodges is pretty rough, so beware if youre driving a low car! It was a bit confusing since theres no sign from the main road, so we ended up circling a few times before finally finding it. The welcome email never arrived, so we had no idea what to do upon arrival, but thankfully a lovely lady who looks after the site was really helpful. The lodge itself felt a bit tired and could use a refresh, especially the bathrooms. The area is peaceful, perfect if you want quiet, but dont expect WiFi or good mobile signal. Perfect for us, wed come back!

We had a lovely stay here! Cullumpton really is welcoming to dogs, which is great. The walks nearby are perfect for our furry friends and its nice to see everyone responsibly picking up after their pets. The lodges felt private and cosy and we enjoyed watching the wildlife around the lakes. Definitely coming back!
