The Bay is a high quality holiday park in Filey, within easy reach of the Yorkshire Moors and Coast for exploring.  This charming holiday village consists of well designed holiday cottages in a pretty setting.

Active families and couples will love it here with a range of activities to enjoy.  Just a few of the most popular include Archery, Fencing, Crossbow and Tennis.  You can also hire bikes which is a fantastic way to get out and explore.  The indoor heated swimming pool is ideal for a relaxing swim or splash around.

Accommodation is a range of cottages, beach houses and apartments - so something to suit every holiday style.  We love The Beach House 3 which is a stunning New England style beach house sleeping up to 6. For couples, the Solo is a great value option - a stylish apartment with open plan living, sleeping 2.

The local area is perfect for exploring.  Peasholm Park in Scarborough is well worth a visit, just 9 miles from The Bay.  A stunning park with a pretty lake, you can enjoy a relaxing day out and even hire boats.

Date of stay: 30th June 2018
Beautiful house, ideal for a mixed family group spanning pensioners to toddlers. 4 bedrooms (2 with ensuite shower rooms), 1 bathroom. Thoughtfully equipped with an AMAZING lower floor space - L shaped comprising a huge kitchen/diner and an equally huge living area. TV and WiFi included (crucial with teenagers) and enough space for a toddler to racket around happily without getting under everyone's feet. Lovely outside area for evening relaxation.

Date of stay: 18th June 2018
Went to celebrate our mum's 75th birthday. The park has a fantastic location and the accommodation was of a really high standard. It was furnished beautifully, was extremely clean and was ideal if you have disables person in your party (with having a downstairs bedroom and bathroom). All of the staff that we dealt with on site were polite and professional. Would love to return.

OVERALL IT WAS A GOOD HOLIDAY WE HAD THE WEATHER AND WITH OUR DAYS OUT WE FILLED IN OUR TIME A GOOD BASE FOR WHERE WE WANTED TO GO.
Christine
Date of stay: 18th May 2018
The cottage was brilliant but the dining table and coffee table were dirty and the place mats on the dining table. The boiler was incredibly hot and noisy and meant that we had to have all windows open upstairs due to the intense heat permiateing from the boiler in the smaller bedroom.

Date of stay: 14th April 2018
We loved the cottage it was extremely spacious and very well decorated . The cleanliness let it down a bit as when we left we checked under beds in case we had left anything behind and they had not been cleaned and there was even a pair of slippers left under one of the twin beds. On arrival the kitchen table has crumbs on and a half empty can of drink.
Christine, Leeds

Date of stay: 13th April 2018
The house was great. Stocked enough for us. Would be good to have a few basic items soap, washing up liquid, cloths etc. But we had our own as we assumed this would be the case.
House was warm, sound proof and great to have some kids games etc to hand.
Helen
Date of stay: 9th April 2018

Would recommend had a lovely time and would return
Pam, Penrith
Date of stay: 2nd April 2018
We enjoyed our time at the Bay. The accommodation was roomy and very comfortable and reasonably clean , except for the oven which was dirty. There was quite a lot of traffic noise from the nearby road. The kids enjoyed the pool and walking to the beach although the weather was really awful. I think 5:00pm check in time is late and my request for early check in was ignored because they had changed systems.
Barbara
Date of stay: 30th March 2018
Had a fab time at the Bay with family. Only criticism of the house is that kitchen was on the small side but other than that everything was fine.

If the beach house was somewhere else we would stay again, but not at this site. No shop, no Italian restaurant and a cold pool that was too small for the size of park.

Katie, Manchester
Date of stay: 3rd January 2018
Me and my family had a lovely holiday. It was out first time as a family coming away for new year and it was everything we could as for. I would recommend the Bay to others. I think the late 17.00 check in need a look into as this is rather late for familys. I understand its a large complexs and maybe a small staff of cleaner however with young children 17.00 is far to late.
Michelle, Castleford
Date of stay: 27th December 2017

Loved this accommodation, well equipped very clean and the log fire was great
Vicky, Atherton
Date of stay: 19th November 2017
The accommodation was immaculate and we had a really good stay. The only negative was the obvious atmosphere between the staff in the pub while we ate. Although the food was nice it was evident there had been some disagreement which impacted the service we received. This is a shame because the previous evening the staff had been excellent. Apart from this I would definitely recommend the cottage and the bay and will return.
John
Date of stay: 11th November 2017
The Bay Village is well laid out and the staff in all the facilities and the reception within the village were very friendly and helpful with any queries or needs that I had. I would not hesitate in recommending the Bay Village to any others especially within the pet friendly attitude the village has (I have already recommended it to some friends). I myself will undoubtably book the facilities again in the future probably earlier on in the season as was quiet this time but to be expected in November.
Philip, Mansfield

As above, lovely well equipped house. It's slightly older and feel it needs updating now as starting to show. The walls could do with a paint and the leather sofa was scratched and needed replacing.

Date of stay: 27th October 2017
We could not use the shower in the house bathroom because it poured water out on the floor, we think that perhaps the seal had gone. Surely this should of been noticed by pervious guests or by the cleaners when the cleaned the shower.
Damien, Liverpool
Date of stay: 27th October 2017
The house was lovely and had everything we needed. Bathrooms and beds where clean but there was a lot of cob webs and a few dead flys lying around. In need of a deep clean.
Elaine, Manchester
Date of stay: 27th October 2017
Unfortunately the first apartment we went in wasn't up to standard the sofa was badly damaged so went to reception and they relocated us were very helpful and found us a better appartment unfortunately they did say they would send house keeping as needed a little cleaning lots of dog hairs , but no one came and we waited a while so couldn't go out which was disappointing . But the stay was still lovely

Date of stay: 8th October 2017
Apart from a little hiccup at check-in which should have been at 5pm, was delayed a little so didnt get checked in until about 6pm, but was given a £20 voucher to spend at the local public house, which was nice. The other issue was that when getting ready for our night out on the Saturday the hair dryer which was in the house, not mine, blew up and cut the electric off. It was reported. Everything else was just amazing, had a fabulous time with the girls.
Sue, Pontefract
Date of stay: 6th October 2017
The beach house is fantastic and well equipped the only flaw is the lack of privacy, when you are sat in the lounge you are facing someone elses lounge , it would be better to have a net curtain at the patio doors to ensure privacy but not shutting the light out .
Lesley, Buxton
Date of stay: 6th October 2017
Loved the accommodation. Would've been perfect if there had been a bath!

Date of stay: 28th August 2017
House was lovely, layout of resort meant a walk around a lot of houses despite being very close to the beach access (it's a beach house ...??). Great to have leisure facilities on site but they are not well maintained and not being made the most of. Resort felt unfinished with the evidence of building work.
Susan, Lincoln

Date of stay: 31st July 2017
The Howker had the best views and it was lovely to see the sea through nearly all the windows. The garden at the back was great to. There were some issues in the house where the Freezer appeared to not have worked for awhile as it was just one big ice box. I did report this to reception when we left, because although we didn't need to use it, I am assuming someone will so this needs addressing. There was also a fly issue, where they were in the house, but this was worse in the pub on the site.
Elizabeth, Durham

Date of stay: 28th July 2017
Cottage a bit pricey and we were told we would be near the conveniences as we had my mum with us and she can't walk far but we weren't - they do offer a buggie type transport but not ideal having to rely on this and I ended up driving her around

Date of stay: 21st July 2017
Great Nikki but too crowded together and no view at all. Our holiday was spoilt by looking out at a building site and plastic sheeting. Every morning. We were woken by diggers and machinery and thus meant we couldn't sit out at all until evening.
Susan, Falkirk

Date of stay: 29th May 2017
The solo was ok, but would of preferred a solo with a patio, could of done with a fish slice to get the eggs out of the pan, instead of a rolling pin ( certainly wasn't going to be doing any baking) but all in all had a lovely 3 days .
Tony, Selby
Date of stay: 26th May 2017
We had a fab break. The Solo was very clean and comfortable. Had all resources you needed for a great relaxing break. We had a little trouble turning on the TV but after a while sorted it.
Nigel, Hemsworth / Pontefract
Date of stay: 26th May 2017
The apartment which was a solo was nice and clean and well furnished. the kitchen area is smart, clean and up to date. The site in general was clean and it has ample parking facilities. The only downside as such is that there is no onsite shop but that said your only 5 minutes from the town centre in Filey where you can your groceries. we stayed for 4 nights and enjoyed the break because we used the site as a base while visiting various places of interest on that part of the coast. will be going back again next year.

Date of stay: 26th May 2017
The location of our particular cottage was perfect, very close to the path down to the beach and near to all of the facilities. The fixtures and fittings in the property were of a very high standard and the master bedroom was amazing. A very spacious property.
Nancy, Chesterfield, Derbyshire.
Date of stay: 22nd May 2017
The cottage is beautifully presented in a lovely location. It was very clean but unfortunately there were an unusual amount of large flies in the kitchen area when we arrived which was disappointing and very annoying when trying to prepare food. There were no flies outside so this was not an environmental issue but must have been an issue with the property itself. Again, the early check in and late check out fee is a bit expensive, especially as the usual check in time is very late at 5pm.
Barbara, Falkirk

Jacky, Warrington
Date of stay: 21st April 2017
The apartment was clean and modern and kitchen white goods appreciated. The bedding and towels were excellent quality. On the down side there was a lack of pans and baking tins which we would have found useful. However, this would not pit us off going in 'Solo' again, we would just be more prepared.

The building work was right outside the house & the view was of the builders. The house was very clean & well equipped. In the main bedroom there is a high round window without a blind so it let's in the morning sun and wakes you up. We were very comfortable in the house .

You are never too sure how clean 'pet friendly' places are but this was absolutely fine. Stayed at Christmas in a detached caravel and the cottage was great we had everything we needed it was clean and well equipped, the location was perfect just near the pub and leisure complex, the food in the pub was excellent and reasonably priced, the staff both in the pub and reception were very friendly. We had a slight problem in that the boiler stopped working on Christmas eve and there was no one available to fix it but we managed to get it working again on Christmas day morning so all was well. we didn't get down to the beach but we had a fantastic stay and will definitely return in the summer.

Date of stay: 7th November 2016
What can I say - we chose The Howker because there were 3 of us and it meant we would have a double bedroom each. We certainly picked the best - fabulous views over Filey, lovely surroundings. Everything you would need for a fabulous weekend away. The house was beautiful, everything was clean and the staff were very welcoming also and were very helpful. There was just one little thing, trying to work out the heating as there were no instructions and seemed to come on in the middle of the night but we told the staff this when we checked out. We are definitely coming back but only if we can have The Howker again - gorgeous!

As a family we rented 7 properties to celebrate a big birthday - with an age range of 4 months to 65, and our property was by far the best. The decor and general feel of the place was perfect.Whilst others in the group had problems - wrong keys, no heating for example, we encountered no such problems. As someone who spent many holidays at the old Butlins site it was lovely to see old prints of the camp layout in the house. We would certainly request the same one if it were available on future visits.

We were able to comfortably cook for some of the family who stayed the extra day in the well equipped kitchen. Well done to the owners for maintaining such a lovely property.

Date of stay: 2nd September 2016
A very good site, which was very peaceful. The accomodation was very good, but the covers on the seats were very dirty.
The house had very good facilities, ie, dishwasher fridge, washing machine etc.
I feel that the site need a convenience store, selling basic items, ie,bread, milk etc.
I would recommend this site to family and friends.

Lovely house but too many attractive ornaments and not enough practical holiday space in majority of rooms. Lots of storage cupboards left empty without shelves, etc which I think could be utilised to better purpose.

Date of stay: 6th August 2016
Lounge dinner very good size and well equipped however bedrooms small and a lack of storage. Accommodation should of been cleaner as main lounge carpet had stains which are obvious on the beige carpet and some bedroom furniture draws units required replacing (inform reception to prevent possible charges).

House was clean, but felt a little run down, loose door handles, creaky doors, really creaky beds and floorboards, maybe I'm being super critical, because we really did have a brilliant time, and all these little things I mentioned didn't affect our holiday.

The Caravel itself is a stunning cottage and we loved its location. However, we paid extra to arrive early and it would appear we couldn't have given the cleaners enough time to get the property ready. The dishwasher was still on from the previous guests (but sadly the dishwasher was clogged, so all the pots were still filthy). There was very obvious dust under the furniture in the living room. The dining table was so sticky, everything we put on it, literally stuck to it. We gave in with this and the dishwasher. The bedrooms are nicely kept and comfortable and the bathrooms very nice and tidy. The cottage was nicely decorated. It would be a nice touch if a few provisions were left for each new family, like small milk, tea bags, and a few dishwasher tablets etc. I've read reviews before about the cleanliness of these cottages, so wonder if the cleaners are given adequate time to turn them around for the new guests?

Date of stay: 2nd July 2016
Whilst we had a lovely time it could easily have been better had any care & attention been taken with the cottage. First impressions lovely but the accommodation then disappointing once settled in.
Washer / Dryer - dryer broken
Coffee table damaged & unsafe around children
Sofa worn out
All decor/window ornaments damaged
Had just 2 mugs!!
Whilst reception made a note of the issues & apologised, they said its unfortunate holiday makers don't advise them of the issues. No staff to manage this attention to detail???
I would say a grand job made by cleaners - very clean cottage & towels/bedding

Found the apartment very "tired" and in need of a good clean. Two burnt-on pans under the sink, a broken wine glass put back in kitchen cupboard and a very dirty, burnt-on oven.
My friends who shared a Buccaneer Cottage with their 2 dogs (I had to have a solo apt. because only 2 dogs allowed in any one lodgings) had a beautiful spotlessly clean cottage.

The only comment we have is, the step going out of the patio door, is too high, needs another step down before reaching the floor, a few of us struggled with this, apart from that perfect. Xx

Lovely holiday cottages, site very clean with a great pub and access to the beach. We stayed in a four bed house had everything we needed for the weekend. Clean inside although still some cigarette stubs on the bbg which I wouldn't have expected. The pub was great and kids could play while we had a drink all in all I would definitely return although it would benefit from having a shop on site

Lovely apartment, clean and warm, grill pan was broken though,a set of pliers was provided in the drawer, husband burnt his fingers,so I hope it has been replaced, the bath was huge, taps on side where you got in,not easy for an elderly person to get in and out of,I struggled a bit myself, slip mat needed I think. All in all better than some places we have stayed with our pooches

The Buccaneer cottage was set in a delightful setting with views of the meadow and sea.
There were a few issues with the cooker and front door not working but these were rectified very quickly once we informed Reception.
The cottage was clean and the bed relaxing .
We were unable to use the outside patio set as the one double seat provided had a broken back which was still partly attached to the seat.
The extractor fans in the bathroom and down stairs separate toilet did not work.

However The Bay location is an excellent base for visiting along the Yorkshire coast line to the North Yorkshire moors.

Date of stay: 8th April 2016
The cottage was amazing. It had everything we needed and was as comfortable as our own home. It was warm and cosy, as the weather was cool when we stayed. The beds were not the most comfortable and could do with better quality mattresses.
The one complaint we had about the property was that the parking bays were lethal when wet. 2 members of our group fell over and hurt themselves as they were very slippery. The footpaths up to the property could have been better, too much grass leading up to the front door from the parking bay and not enough path, which meant the hallway was very muddy from our shoes.

Our cottage was perfect, only booked as a last minute getaway due to us having to cancel our main half term break. Cottage was clean and well appointed for 2 adults and 2 children, 4 adults may feel a little cramped. Got the log burner going on the second night as it was freezing outside and ended up having to open the patio sliding doors such was its efficiency.
Gemma, Pontefract
Date of stay: 21st March 2016
Spacious rooms - gorgeous decor - very relaxing - home from home.
Rooms and bathrooms clean - but utensils / glasses / cups etc inside kitchen cupboards needed a clean.
Would be nice to have helpful touches like bin liners, dish washer tablets - other handy bits for the kitchen. ( I realise the holiday is self catering but we have had this in other self catering homes elsewhere).
Value for money at the time of year we visited, however I feel it's too expensive at 'peek' times.

When we have stayed at the bay before our accommodation has had a simple thermostat for the heating. This time we had to figure out the main central heating controls on the boiler itself. This was too complex for my little brain.

Date of stay: 19th February 2016
We booked up for half term, for two adults and three children. The property was brand new and really well built. The beach is superb and only ten minutes walk from the centre.

The old fashioned towns up the road bring a bit of fun for the kids and nostaligia for adults. Supermarkets are close by for filling up but a tip for others, we had ASDA deliver to the door the evening of arrival. Easy.

For a family it's a perfect break and ferociously good value compared to other family lodge holidays.
Michelle, Chester

The Bay accommodation was nice. It was comfortable and provides just what you need. The overall cleanliness was excellent. The only thing that needed cleaning was the cutlery, pans and utensils. The skirting boards could have done with a wash, but that is me being very picky. We were extremely happy with our accommodation.

Would have liked comfy seats for all party, six of us (4 adults 2 kids - age 12 and 10) and living area had two chairs and a settee that only comfortably seated 3 so one of us always had to sit on the floor or at the dining table. Perhaps consider bean bags for the floor maybe for kids.

This is our 3rd trip to The Bay. Each time we have tried different types of accomodation. This time we stayed in the Carvel. The house was lovely & spacious and decorated beautifully. We stayed inbetween Christmas & New Year which seemed to be a very busy period for the staff and the facilities. I do have a small gripe about the general cleaning of the place. We arrived for an early check in but the cleaners were still inside the property - we did rush them to get in and that could be the reason that the cleanliness in some areas (particularly the main bathroom) were not as clean as we would have liked. This was quickly sorted by our own cleaning equipment & a quick scrub down. That said I love the place and will definately be going back again. I would recommend to anyone wanting a lovely quiet seaside holiday.
Lindsay, Barnsley
Date of stay: 30th December 2015
We stayed in the clipper this time and was not at all impressed with the accommodation. It was in need of "revamping" and not up to the usual standard of accommodation we have stayed in in the past. Paint work was dirty, fridge broke and there was "fusty" smell as soon as we walked into the house. We were really disappointment with the accommodation.

When we arrived at 4:45 for the 5pm check in we were told that our cottage was still being cleaned. At 5pm we were given the keys even though the cottage was still being cleaned. As we got to the cottage the cleaners were only just leaving. Even though they were late finishing cleaning there were bits that were missed. The bath had hair in it still and the kitchen drawers and cupboards had puddles of water in where the dishwasher had been emptied quickly.

Date of stay: 31st October 2015
Our first impression of the cottage was that it was lovely, bright, clean, nicely decorated and the kitchen was particularly well equipped.

We stayed in the last week of October and unfortunately the heating did not work on the first night (but the security guard managed to fix it) and the cooker fuse blew on the second night (although we worked out that if the cooker hood wasn't on the rest of the cooker would work). The sofas and beds were not especially comfortable - and in the evenings it was cold by the windows in both the sitting and dining areas as there were no curtains. Also, there was no remote control for the DVD player upstairs. These sound like small niggles, but this cottage cost quite a lot more that week than other cottages in the area - and even having a swimming pool on site did not make us think the cottage was particularly good value for money.
Christina, Manchester

A beautiful house well maintained with everything you could need. The Internet access was a fantastic bonus, as we have stayed in many houses before with no internet at all or very poor connection.
The location was very handy for checking whether the swimming pool was busy, and very handy if you wanted to go over to the pub or Italian.
We would definitely book this accommodation again.

Date of stay: 26th October 2015
The cottage was a decent size, well furnished and generally clean. However, there were some significant stains on the carpet which was disappointing.

Addition of wifi would have been greatly welcomed !!!

Date of stay: 24th October 2015
Stunning property, was impressed with the size of the rooms and the level to which it was all fitted out. We even had wifi in ours although I know this isn't standard and down to each individual owner. We were also impressed by how warm the house was, in fact had to turn heating right down. Also had great double glazing blocking out outside noises which was just as well as we were unfortunate enough to be in the house opposite
the crane positioning more beach houses! But as this part is almost finished I'm sure won't be a problem when we return in the spring. Would definitely recommend the beach houses!

Lovely estate but shame some building works are still ongoing...no noise from it though.

The house we had was lovely and modern but did need a good clean unfortunately, also our Hoover in the property broken so couldn't clean ourselves much.
Gemma, York
Date of stay: 14th September 2015
The only thing I would say is that although the property was clean, it was grubby and I would of liked it spotless for the money it cost. I wasn't too happy to find the top bunk messily mad, bottle tops in the bedroom and a pair of pants in the wardrobe!! Things had also been slung into the cupboard under the stairs....I would of checked they were tidy.

Date of stay: 22nd August 2015
Excellent holiday village with first class accommodation. The site was very clean, well maintained and quiet - we were happy for our 7, 8 & 10 year olds to scooter around with minimal supervision.
Our property was fully fitted out even down to egg cups.
We used both the John Paul Jones pub and Via Italia and both served good value and tasty food and drinks.
The free use of the pool was a real bonus and we used it every day of our stay - it was not usually too crowded and was very child friendly.
The children tried Aqua Scooters, Canoeing & Archery which were all very good with excellent instructors and value for the money.
Overall an excellent holiday in a good location & yes we will visit again.

Sam, Knutsford
Date of stay: 14th August 2015
The house was excellent. It had absolutely everything we needed and was fitted out to a really high spec. It was clean and tidy and the open-plan design and large bedrooms, both with en-suites, was perfect for us.

It was really hot while we were there so the ceiling fans were very welcome, however among all the large number of switches and remote controls in the living / kitchen area we never did find the correct combination to work that ceiling fan! Maybe little labels on the switches (indoor lights, outdoor lights, fans, lamps) might have helped.

Date of stay: 10th August 2015
Absolutely loved The Bay and already looking to return. Others have commented that it is quite pricey for a week's stay compared to other local holiday resorts however I feel the price is justified for the quality of homes and surroundings ie you get what you pay for. Quick shout out for one of the leisure centre / Go Active staff Zach - what a star! - ran my boys' football session and was totally superb, entertained the parents as well!

Excellent again. Have been several times now and still enjoy it. It's great that it has its own access to a great beach. A lovely, quiet place with plenty to do for kids aswell.
Iain, Jedburgh
Date of stay: 8th August 2015
Excellent accomodation, very well equipped, pub was good, staff overall were very helpful. Close to quiet kid friendly beach and also very handy for Filey, Bridlington, Scarborough and also

Only couple of issues - 1 Sometimes difficult to get parked adjacent to property,
2 when we arrived the bins had not been emptied and there were dirty dishes in the dishwasher from the previous occupants.

Both just minor issues but things that make a difference.

Had a great Monday to Friday holiday at the start of August . Stayed in the Portsmouth (2xadults+2xkids)and found it like a home from home. There were slight signs of ware and tare but nothing that would spoil our holiday. Great location for visiting Scarborough ,Filey and flamingo land. Facilities at the bay were good and we enjoyed the access to the beach from Bay Resort.
Overall we had a great holiday in Yorkshire at the bay and would totally recommend it and we will come again.

We had a lovely stay, house great to relax in, especially opening up the doors to the garden. Great size with three teenage children. Very well equipped.
Only negatives were the outdoor furniture which was infested with beasties so unusable and no table or chairs for upstairs balcony....which I think was a safety measure.
Sharron, Glasgow

Jean, Shipley
Date of stay: 26th June 2015
The house was comfortable and well equipped as usual. The rest of my party who hadn't been to the Bay before were very impressed. I thought it was time that the garden furniture was replaced or refurbished as it was looking quite worn.
Alison, Bury
Date of stay: 26th June 2015
A very good sized cottage for the number of people staying (6 adults, 1 infant and a baby). The cottage was privately owned and the owners had thoughtfully provided games and books and crockery and cutlery for children. The cottage was clean and well-equipped and in a quiet location adjoining the wild flower meadow.
Janice, Leeds
Date of stay: 15th June 2015
this style accomodation is great with a wow factor, however beach house does suggest "on beach" or with a "sea view" which is not the case. That said the beach house is really stylish and the interior makes you feel your at the sea with a very nautical/seaside theme plus outside seating area is great.
Catherine, York
Date of stay: 30th May 2015
I loved the modern spacious feel that the Caravel had. We stayed opposite the leisure centre, and close to the beach access road so the location was ideal. The garden area at the back was open to the other garden areas, which meant that the children nearby could all play out together, and they enjoyed many outdoor games here.
The only downsides were that the single beds could have been more comfortable, the cups were a bit dirty when we arrived as was the dining table/area. These were all small things and overall we had a lovely stay here.
Annabel, Swanland
Date of stay: 29th May 2015
Cottage was lovely but really needs blackout blinds in the bedrooms as with white curtains it was quite difficult to sleep with so much light shining through.
Mandy, Sheffield
Date of stay: 29th May 2015
This is the fourth time we have stayed at The Bay. The Bilander is the perfect size for us. The property was lovely, clean and welcoming. Lots of little extras like books, games extra throws and a well equipped kitchen. The property was decorated with a beach theme to a good standard. My son loved having a TV in him room too. You have a short walk to the swimming pool, beach access and other facilities but the location was quiet.
Roger, Nottingham

My children and I stayed during the May bank holiday and had a lovely time, the weather wasn't brilliant but the swimming bath was very alluring to my children who spent hours in there, the accommodation was wonderful, very clean and homely, all mod cons and beds extremely comfy. Definitely beats a caravan, was a very serene retreat. Will definitely be staying again :)

Date of stay: 18th April 2015
A lovely house which was very well located on the site, clean and well resourced. Our only asks would be Wifi, a coffee maker and maybe somewhere to tie up the bikes.

The house was nice and spacious with most things that we needed and brilliantly located opposite the main facilities and close to the path that went down to the beach. There were no noise issues at all.

We had a lovely time and would stay at this house again.

Justine, Nottingham
Date of stay: 13th April 2015
Lovely house, lots of space, clean, warm and wonderful location. One down side was there was no wifi and no decent mobile phone signal - but we could get free wifi at the pub and leisure facilties on site so it wasn't the end of the world. And it did make a nice change with everyone not on their gadgets. Would go again.
Robert, Mexborough
Date of stay: 11th April 2015
After a few minor repairs the perfect cottage however we were left without a dvd player for a week which didn't go down well with the children, luckily we had a week of sun so they didn't stay in long enough.
Chris, Wakefield

Date of stay: 6th April 2015
We were most impressed by the standard of accommodation in the Regatta Cottage. It was clean and well furnished. A couple of minor improvements could be made. For example we found the fridge a little on the small size for a party of six in self catering accommodation. We would also liked to have seen mattress protectors on the beds. Apart from that we were very pleased by the standard of cleanliness and furnishings.
David, Nottingham
Date of stay: 6th April 2015
The cottage itself was great but right opposite cottages being built so felt like we were on a building site when we looked out the window. We weren't told anything about the building works when we booked.

Issues with cleaning e.g dirty bed linen on the front patio which had clearly been there for some days/weeks. Glass on log stove really dirty and couldn't see the fire, yet cleaned straight off when we brought some jiff. Toilet left I flushed as wee was in the pan.

Solo was very good value for money out of peak time.

Apartment 74 was very clean and comfortable, however, the fixtures and fittings were another story.

Some of the kitchen cupboard doors were loose, the integrated fridge door was hanging on by one screw! The oven was very difficult to switch on.
Tracey, Milton Keynes

As we arrived early we went to the pub to wait for the cottage to be ready. Being a group of 9 we were made to feel unwelcome as the staff said we could not sit at certain tables but offered no alternative so we did not return. Part of the group went to collect keys but they was not ready at the time advised as previous occupants had not returned them so we had to wait for a quick clean. The Greenwich 9 cottage is lovely and really was ideal but it was obvious not cleaned properly oven/grill dirty, one chair was broken but not replaced, bedding and linen was outside in bin bags until we vacated 2 days later, there was no sheets on some beds which was reported but no one turned up so security had to be called out at 9.30 so we could go to bed but most was awake through the night with dogs barking. All in all we tried not to let these things become a problem as it was a family break for a 60th birthday so got on with it. On vacating we cleaned as much as possible and as we reported the issues to the reception and they said no problem we left thinking that we had all enjoyed it and would come again. There was a £100 deposit which we had no problem with as had done that before but once home get a email to say they was keeping it as they tied to call to discuss but no missed called or messages left. For over a week emails and phone calls each day the story changes as for one we did not even know there was a pool card as never had one now they want to charge £100 for it! They want to charge for items we never saw this cottage was dirty they do not even know what was the previous guests left it like so we charge us it is disgusting and now wish we took photographs of all the faults but never knew we would need it!! Ruined the whole experience and still no result week and half later even getting charged VAT. Customer service shocking will not recommend the site.

Though the site is still under construction in areas, the building works didn't bother us. We were very impressed with the standard of the accommodation - we got a brand new 2 bed house for less cost than a caravan. I was slightly annoyed that I had to pay £15 in order to check in early (the check-in time is 5pm, which is bonkers) and was annoyed when the jobsworth swimming attendant chucked us all out of the pool to add chemicals to the water 20 mins after we'd just got in the water. But the access to the beach is great and overall we were very happy.

There were a few kitchen items that were lacking and one of our dining chairs was unusable but this was changed for us after we complained. The house was not furnished sensibly for a holiday property for families inasmuch as there were many unnecessary glass vases stood around and there was constant concern about the safety of the very large television!

Needs mirrors in each of bedrooms. Drying hair is not easy. Too much furniture in onshore bedroom had to climb over bed to get to bathroom.
Level of cleaniless is exceptional your staff should be praised.
Dishwasher is difficult to open due to the closeness of the cupboard handle under the oven

The house was lovely but even though it was very new it was in need of some repairs, like cracks in the plaster & toilet roll holders not fixed to the walls properly. Only small issues though which could be easily rectified. Re the cleanliness of the property, the skirting boards and the paint work going up the stairs could also do with a good dusting, but again nothing major & it wouldn't stop us from staying again.

Overall the accommodation was very good but the mattresses on the single beds had seen better days. Also considering the accommodation was intended to sleep 8 people there were very few saucepans and bowls. We ate in on 2 nights and even though there were only 6 of us we really struggled to find equipment to cook with. However, there was more than enough crockery and glasses.

The property we stayed in advertised a log burner fire, however no one advised us we needed to supply our own wood/logs. The house was lovely, but if you are going to install top of the range baths with 'posh plugs' (ie those that you don't just put in the plughole) some instructions would be a good idea. Also the silver cap would not stay over the plughole, which was a little uncomfy.

Overall very nice cottage, clean and well equipped (take your dishwasher tablets and washing machine powder for a real easy time!). Parking if not adjacent, always very close. Privacy around the back of cottages a little lacking - lots of nosy children- one even came and stuck their nose up against the patio window to see what we were doing! Nice idea to have Boules courts in the shared areas behind the cottages. ONE WORD OF CAUTION - most cottages allow pets, so if you don't want that dog smell and the hairs, ensure you request one that has not had pets in.
Amanda, Mirfield
Date of stay: 5th September 2014
Needs balckout curtains ( various visitors had requested this in the visitor book) and cleaning after dogs been in property . Dog hairs on rug in front room and bathroom floor. My dog does not shed hairs so a bit off putting to find other dog hairs especially when you pay extra to take an animal .

Date of stay: 25th August 2014
The cottage was a good size, comfortable and clean upon our arrival, there was a minor issue with the keys which was quickly resolved. All that being said the fittings are showing the amount of use that they are receiving, with hinges being loose within the cupboard doors, cracks showing in walls, and broken sink plug levers. We also had an issue with the washer/dryer which had had the operation buttons pushed in making it unusable and had to be repaired. Overall we thought the cottage had a bit of a tired look about it.

Lovely two bed house with all you need for a self catered holiday set in beautiful surroundings and beach. The only negative point is that there was no instruction on how to turn the digital heating system on and even the own staff weren't sure how. Eventually after playing around with the functions managed to get it working other than that it was great. The kids loved it and want to visit again when weather is better.

Fabulous beach house with homely touches. Great for families or couples. Would benefit from decking at the rear to catch the afternoon sun. Would definitely return. Kids aged 16 and 11 really enjoyed it. Limited wifi on site and building work still continuing but that aside, this place is great and once complete will be fantastic. Quite expensive but the beach house was well worth it. Well kitted out and hi spec. The pub on site was nice and reasonably priced. The sports facilities were good, pool clean albeit a little cold when we visited but the beach area was great for water sports and walking the dog.
Alexandra, Milton Of Campsie
Date of stay: 8th August 2014
Accommodation was lovely, modern and spacious. I don't believe it was as clean as it could have been with regard to the kitchen and things like dusty skirting boards etc. It wasn't dirty, but for a rented accommodation in this price range I shouldn't have to clean equipment before I use it. The layout of the property is good with regard to privacy, three couples had rooms that were located a good distance from each other and all were quite large. The en-suite, however, is designed for Lilliputians - I'm 5'2" and found using the loo a bit of a manoeuvre. In contrast, the adjacent bathroom is ridiculously large.

Very comfortable, for the price we paid I think at least t-towels and oven gloves should be provided and a change of towels half way through the holiday would have been nice. Also the Greenwich we were located in was a long distance from the pub and there wasn't a pavement the whole way so we had to walk on the road at some points. Slow down signs ar needed reminding them they are on a holiday site not in a residential area!!

Lovely accommodation - very spacious and clean. The only downside was that the third bedroom with bunks in was very small and difficult to manoeuvre around in. Still, there was a good sized closet in there for clothes, which helped. All other rooms were very comfortae and well furnished. The garden and patio area were great additions too - we enjoyed al fresco dining a couple of times.

My family of 6 stayed in a Chatham7 for a week on a friday to friday booking. This was useful as we came from south manchester for a wedding on the saturday. The cottage was clean and very well equipped, with a wonderful nautical theme to the many paintings and decorations. As most of the properties seem to be privately owned but managed by Hoseasons, they are probably not all equipped to the same standard. The beds were comfortable and there was ample storage space in each of them.

Very clean and good size house. Located furthest away from the pool and pub but only a 5 minute walk. Modern furnishings and lovely sized rooms. I would recommend the Greenwich 9. Struggled to know which parking spaces were allocated to Greenwich 9 and neighbour often blocked us in (think we were in the wrong space!) maybe mark the parking bays with accommodation numbers? Nice enclosed shared area at the rear.

Beach house was very comfortable with all mod cons. Only small complaint was there was single beds in the master bedroom, would have liked a double.

This is the second year we have been here and we love the accommodation- the only complaint we would have is it could be a bit cleaner when we arrive- feels a bit like corners are cut- it is gorgeous accommodation and you expect it to be spotless

It would be easy to live there, let alone enjoy a holiday

Lovely Beach House. Will be surrounded with other units once the area is completed though - so spoilt a little as it was quite private. Lovely Pub and leisure complex and an easy walk to the beach. There was just four of us so lots of space - 6 would have been a bit of a problem for relaxed seating in the evenings. A fabulous Beach House - and a must to return at some point.

We love staying at The Bay and this was our 5th visit. The holiday village is well situated and in easy reach of the surrounding coastal attractions and loveley countryside.

The swimming pool and pub are within walking distance and the staff are friendly.

On this occasion however the kitchen in our house was in need of decoration and whilst the bathrooms were clean the rooms were in need of a good dusting.

We still enjoyed our stay and would book again.

For a family with 4 adults and 4 children. Luckily our children get on because they had to share a double bed. Could do with a good clean......was amazing though.

Only problem with the accommodation was the fact that it had not been properly cleaner before our arrival, the smell of wet dog on the sofas and chairs was so bad that we had to advise our relatives not to join us for New Year as they are allergic to dogs and cats, also a large amount of dog hair was found on the floor of the lounge area.

Absolutely no problem with the 2 helm houses that we had. Only problems with the staff as stated above.

The activity timings were a little hit and miss. Everyone really enjoyed the house walk to the beach and pub.
Karen
Very enjoyable and relaxing break. Our only small quibble was that Lorenzo's was not open on mornings for breakfasts etc which has not been the case in the past. Given that our stay was within the Easter holiday period, we would have expected it to be open as normal.
Jayne
Lovely holiday place, this is the fourth time we have been here.
Laura
Good holiday
Claire
Swimming pool is very small and very cold.
Elizabeth

We enjoyed our stay on the whole. The house was cosy and warm with everything we needed for a midweek stay. Pub was good for food. We weren't sure exactly why but the Italian didn't seem to be open with no info available. Some work going on near to pool but didn't impact our stay at all. Pool was good for us and our children. Activities kept our two girls busy too. Weather was pretty bad so didn't make use of beach which would have been nice. Local areas seem a bit run down but this could have been more to do with our Easter holidays not matching the Yorkshire school holidays so was probably off season. A bigger stocked shop on site would definitely be a bonus.

Absolutely Fabulous Love the Beach House Great place to visit 👍🏻

Stayed in Brigg Deluxe. Lovely cottage in a great location, would have fantastic views of the sea when there is no fog!

Betton Farm Visitor Centre is the ideal attraction close to the North Yorkshire coastal town of Scarborough. This animal farm has all the cute farm animals you would expect to see and will appeal to younger children especially.  A great place to both play and learn we think the Betton Farm Visitor centre is great value for money.  Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs.  Some of the highlights of the day might include meeting Sofie the Shetland Pony and Henry the goat, as well as the pot bellied pigs called Porky and Hammy.

As well as mighty sharks and beautiful rays guests can get up close to some more common creatures including star fish and can also meet the otters, seals and penguins at feeding time. The site also has children's play area and picnic tables as well as a restaurant and souvenir shop.
