We booked this as last min little break for my birthday Great reviews so thought fantastic sounds amazing We arrived late about 6 pm I received a text telling us the key would be in locked box , which it was cabin frazer was lovely looked brand new Everything was spotless couldnt fault it at all There was plenty of cutlery etc in the cabin so was all good Towels we couldnt find them but did eventually did , smallest towels in the world mind u Bath in en-suite bedroom with shower over it Shower cubicle in main bathroom Loads of cupboard space No hairdryer No iron or ironing board Hoover in small cupboard No brush or dustpan Hot tub behind the cabin thought was odd Not on the decking So if you want to go hot tub u go out your main door down your steps over the gravel over looking everyone ?? So we went to local supermarket and bought towering robes and slippers these were must Once in tub no one can see as small wood fence around it Tiny table on the patio with small chairs I loved this break really did Its amazing if you want quiet There nothing here no pub or anything near There is small new play area for the kids wooden Nothing in walking distance My only gripe Id say was there no welcome pack Nothing to tell you about cabin Who to ring if you had concern Wifi none ?? No info to tell us Where the bins were we found them eventually as I like to keep clean etc So Id def stay again if I wanted a small break get away from it all

The lodge was lovely, heated up very quickly. Clean and tidy. Hot tub was ready on arrival which was great. My only minus would be might be idea if there was paving leading to hot tub. Other people and us clearly would walk on grass to avoid walking on the stones in bare feet. I have no negatives whatsoever other than that recommendation. The lodge had pretty much panoramic interrupted views out to the countryside, so quiet and peaceful which is exactly what we wanted. Definitely will be back!

Would say that this stay was absolutely fine and definitely worth the price we paid for it. Everywhere was cleaned to a very high standard. However, there were a few things that made it that bit harder that sets apart other lodges/statics etc we have been to. - there was no mat to wipe boots or shoes on at front door and due to the snow we couldnt leave shoes outside so this meant a lot of snow coming in and having to constantly mop this up with kitchen roll once snow melted from our shoes. I think even without the snow it would be good to have due to the amount of woodland etc near by! There were no tea towels/cleaning towels/kitchen roll etc provided which meant another trip back out to shop to get things to be able to clean it up. - all cafes and restaurants were closed due to the weather- no problem at all and certainly not this accommodations fault! There were plentiful cooking facilities in place however not having any tea towels or oven mitt provided meant we did have to buy one so we could use the oven. Weve never previously not been provided with one if there was an oven! - having different chopping boards was great such as the red for meat, white for fish etc etc but there was only 1 chopping knife available. This wouldnt normally have been an issue but there was no washing up liquid provided and the fastest cycle in the dish washer was 2/3 hours long. Again, not that big an issue just a bit of an inconvenience that we havent had to face before. - there was only one set of batteries in one remote and all others were empty which meant we had to switch the batteries between them to use different things, again, just an accumulation of things that made it that bit more difficult to settle in for the week. - we also booked a slightly different lodge called the Leslie, this was changed to the Stuart, which was definitely comparable, but just felt strange to have something changed without actually being told why. Over all, these arent things that would stop us staying there again and actually when we had an issue with the hot tub it was dealt with very promptly and well so this isnt in any way a negative review. These are just a few things we think would have improved the experience.

We recently stayed at the Balmoral for 4 nights over Christmas. On arrival the heating was on, the Christmas tree lights were on and there were even presents under the tree, which was such a lovely touch, so all in all a very cosy and warm welcome. The property is described as a lodge but I definitely think caravan is a better description. The beds were really comfy and heating easy to use. There was everything you could possibly need, including a dishwasher. We did find a few snagging issues with items falling down/broken and squeaky doors waking the children up but young Jamie came on Christmas Eve and fixed them (however only stopped the kitchen and bathroom door from squeaking, not the bedrooms). We did later notice the fire didnt work and more fixtures continued to fall off but by then it was Christmas Day/Boxing Day so we didnt bother anyone. Hot tub was lovely. All in all a comfortable stay but I do feel the caravan needs some tlc, especially the carpet and sofa as they were very dirty/stained, we brought throws so didnt bother us too much.

Really enjoyed our stay and would recommend. However, few small issues such as no bins in bathrooms, no oven gloves, not enough towels provided, lack of food storage in kitchen and no shelf in shower for shampoo etc. if these issues were sorted it would be perfect.

Date of stay: 17th May 2023
It was a lovely lodge, really enjoyed our stay. I just think to brand themselves as 5* they would need to maybe include little welcome hamper/ packs - as there was no tea or coffee or even hand soaps etc. So a hamper with these essentials and some toiletries would make it feel more 5* The bed in the master could do with a mattress topper as the springs could be felt a lot.
