Ribblesdale Lodges

If you're looking for a relaxing holiday with some luxurious touches and a great location then Ribblesdale Lodges are a great choice. This small and exclusive cluster of luxurious, traditional style lodges are set in the stunning grounds of Gisburn Estate. The lodges have a fantastic location right in the heart of the Ribble Valley which is today famous for being the inspiration for Tolkien's Lord of the Rings books. This is an area of outstanding natural beauty and a haven for wildlife.

All of the lodges here have been designed to offer a fantastic holiday experience with many luxurious touches. The interior of the lodges manage to fuse seamlessly contemporary design with a homely feel. The lodges benefit from outdoor decking with private hot tubs and pampering can be complete by a massage from the onsite therapist.

The lodges are a fantastic place to escape and de-stress but with such stunning surroundings they are also a great place to enjoy outdoor activities such as cycling and walking. Pendle Hill is popular with walking enthusiasts and is easy to reach from the lodges.

If you can drag yourself away from the comfort of your lodge then the pretty market village of Gisburn is well worth a visit and has a fantastic award winning Italian restaurant, a lovely village pub and many shops selling some great local produce. The Yorkshire Dales and the famous Lake District national park are also within easy driving distance and are great places to visit.

Where's Ribblesdale Lodges?
Vicky Thomson
This site felt very friendly due to the small size and we could let the kids play out without having to watch them all the time. The lodge was really nice and the hot tub was just the icing on the cake. Highly recommended.
Cassandra, Spalding
Date of stay: 6th July 2018
Cant fault anything.
Paul, Retford
Date of stay: 6th July 2018
Our 3rd stay here but our first without our beloved Pooch so was quite different from our previous 2 stays. No early morning walks which I looked forward too, apart from that everything was as before, ideal tranquil setting, excellent staff helpful and always approachable, excellent food at Hindelinis. Already looking forward to next year
Gary, Dunstable
Date of stay: 6th July 2018

The cleaning could be better. Looks okay at first but needs deeper clean in parts. But overall excellent lodge. We have been a few times now and would recommend.

Gareth, Ashington
Date of stay: 29th June 2018
Everything was spot on in this lodge .
Maybe the decking could do with a spruce up but overall a very enjoyable and relaxing stay and would definately return in the future.

Lovely lodge. Clean and comfy. Lots of storage and hot tub a bonus
Deborah, Bradford
Date of stay: 22nd June 2018
Beautiful lodge spacious and very clean
Lisa, Hull
Date of stay: 15th June 2018
Lovely log cabin. A layout I've never had before but worked really well. Each log cabin was angled to maximise privacy.
If I had to criticise it would be that the hot tub was slightly dated.
Michelle, York
Date of stay: 11th June 2018
My only feedback would be that it couldve done with an electric kettle instead of the hob kettle, took far too long to make the morning coffee and given that we wanted to be up and out this was a bit of a hinderance and some hooks outside to hang robes while we were in the hot tub wouldve been useful. Other than that everything was great.
Debra, Cheshire
Date of stay: 1st June 2018

Lovely lodge but no welcome pack, robe and slippers which we always get in Autograph Lodges. No lever on hot tub cover and a struggle to lift , especially if older.

Kimberley, St Helens
Date of stay: 29th January 2018
The lodge was lovely. Very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. I think it may need a new kettle though, we were never sure when it was done as it didn't always whistle. Only a small thing though. The hot tub was amazing and the staff were very helpful in adjusting it as we needed it at a cooler temperature.
Melanie, Perth, Scotland
Date of stay: 29th January 2018
Warm and comfortable. Well equipped. Slight niggle that it didn't have an electric kettle and had to swop scart lead between freeview box and dvd player each time you wanted to use.
Carole, Lancashire
Date of stay: 29th January 2018
Beautiful stylish lodge
Philip, Chorley, Preston
Date of stay: 8th January 2018

Date of stay: 5th January 2018
We had a faulty dishwasher, did not expect a replacement next day with accompanying choolates and bubbly for our inconveniece. It very rare to have first class service and this is what they strive for. The lodge had two spacious bedrooms, a seperate utility with washer and even an office area for my daughter to use to revise in.

Date of stay: 16th October 2017
Great lodge . Only thing the hot tub not as near to the lodge as others. A canopy would be good in case of rain but well worth the money.
Karen, Mansfield Woodhouse
Date of stay: 16th October 2017
Fantastic lodge, will definitely be back
Linsay, Falkirk
Date of stay: 13th October 2017
Lost a mark as the kids room is next to the living room and the soundproofing isn't great. Having said that, we were so tired after busy days, we weren't up that much later!
Stephen
Date of stay: 9th October 2017
The lodge was equipped to an excellent standard. It had been carefully designed for a couple with lots of space and great facilities. Will be staying again

The lodge was fantastic, nice and clean and well looked after. The beds were so comfortable too!
Margaret, Liverpool
Date of stay: 29th September 2017
All was excellent. The staff and food and drink in Hindelinis beautiful. The only downfall is it closes too early. The lodges were full to the brim whilst we were there and think if open a bit later, would get more custom.
Josh, Newcastle Upon Tyne
Date of stay: 22nd September 2017
Perfect from start to finish though we didn't want to leave. Definitely will be going back, probably for a longer stay next time :-)
Rachel, Leeds
Date of stay: 18th September 2017
Crumbs and dirt and pet hair down the sides of sofa cushions. Flooring in hall way damaged and held together with black tape but still moving when walked on. Hot tub not fully functioning which was main reason for booking.
Emily, Harrogate
Date of stay: 11th September 2017
We had a lovely big lodge on the end of the row with nice views across the park down to the farm and cottage, with fields behind us and a lovely big garden with a hot tub :)
Everything in the lodge was clean, modern and comfortable.
There were a few small issues including mouldy bread left in the bread bin, a flickering lightbulb in the bathroom and a wobbly toilet seat but all only small issues!
We would like to suggest a parasol or cover for the hot tub so it can be used even in the rain as it is such good fun but the weather can ruin it!
Jon, Lancaster
Date of stay: 8th September 2017
Cannot fault the lodge. We tend to go out of season so pay less. Lodges are very clean and very well laid out.
Sheila, Rossendale
Date of stay: 8th September 2017
Perfect get away for a peaceful break.
Yvonne, Paisley. Scotland
Date of stay: 8th September 2017
The Lodge would have been much better if it had wifi, also there was no socket in the bedroom anywhere near a mirror which made hair straightening difficult, a chair in the bedroom to put clothes on & some hooks for hanging would have been very useful. Otherwise very comfi clean.
K
Date of stay: 4th September 2017
Excellent. Both lodges were very warm though, and we had to leave windows open. Presumably this is down to good insulation.
Derrick, Kirkcaldy

Date of stay: 26th May 2017

Had a great few days here in May 2017. Booked the Friday and arrived Monday. Lovely spacious cabin and great hot tub. Food at the restaurant was lovely. Lots of wildlife, deers, rabbits and the lovely peacocks that seemed quite tame!!
Anthony
Date of stay: 19th May 2017
The access steps are a little bit strange . the top step is probably 2" too high . but we had a couple of friends and family visit on my wifes birthday and everybody ( literally ) tripped on the top step .
Perfect in all other areas
Kate, Sunderland
Date of stay: 15th May 2017
There was absolutely nothing to fault with the lodge it was absolutely gorgeous and everything we wanted it to be like! However the staff really angered me during my stay, I asked to book a BBQ on the Friday that I checked in and was told not to bother booking and to just come on the day and they'd sort it for us there and then, however when we went to the cafe the following afternoon to get one, I was told there was absolutely none left and that they'd all sold out already. We had bought an expensive amount of BBQ food being assured we would get one on your website and by your staff. The worst part was there was no apology for the inconvenience infact I was made to feel like I was overreacting being so annoyed and upset. All I would have wanted was a ' we are so sorry for the inconvenience however we will take your number and if one comes available you will be the first to know' then I would have been completely understanding.
I wouldn't say it ruined my stay because everything else was perfect! Just for future reference so you don't do this to someone else. You should let people be aware that there is a possibility they won't get one before they plan there holiday around a BBQ.
Alan
Date of stay: 15th May 2017
Outstanding
Kevin, Biggleswade
Date of stay: 12th May 2017
Lovely lodge. Only let down was the cheap combi boiler which could provide hot water only when set at low pressure, so to fill the jacuzzi bath took 30 minutes.
Paul, Retford
Date of stay: 5th May 2017
The holiday was perfect except for 1 small problem which was the outside decking area of the lodge which was quite small for our dog. Our previous stay was in the Amberwood lodge No11 I think which was more suitable for a dog in our opinion, but this didn't deter from the overall enjoyment and satisfaction of our holiday
Kevin, Stowmarket
Date of stay: 5th May 2017
Great location short break
Clare, Sunderland
Date of stay: 5th May 2017
Lovely lodge. Been to a few different lodges now this was great
Darren, Manchester
Date of stay: 1st May 2017
Lovely, spacious cottage. Nice big garden. Great hot tub. The only negative is that the car park space is right next to the cafe/reception and at busy times your car may get blocked in. Would definitely book Deerpark Cottage again.
Drew, Prudhoe

Date of stay: 14th April 2017
Had a fantastic stay here recently in the new Malham lodge. This was our fourth stay here and we'll definitely be back. The lodge was beautiful. We stayed in number 68 which has a raised deck at the back where the hot tub is located. It seemed more private than some of the other Malham lodges.
Mary, Ellesmere Port
Date of stay: 14th April 2017
Lovely lodge warm clean and very comfortable. I cannot see the point of the bath in the main bedroom, a bigger wardrobe and some hooks in each bedroom and plugs would have been more appreciated we had to charge phones up in the passageway or another room. Area was kept very clean and is beautifully laid out. Restaurant exceptional and all staff very welcoming and pleasant. The outdoor swimming pool was a bonus children and adults alike enjoyed. All in all and lovely weather it was a brilliant holiday.
Peter
Date of stay: 10th April 2017
No welcome tray that we always have had before.
Decorating getting a little tired in places.
Hot tub could do with upgrading - inside of lid and part of inside of tub a little stained.
Janice, Largs
Date of stay: 7th April 2017
Exactly what we needed. A relaxing retreat with home from home comforts. Suited our needs as our dogs were catered for. Will definitely return.

Our stay was amazing. 6 adults to celebrate daughters 21st birthday. On arrival staff were attentive excellent customer service. Rooms/beds were comfortable & spacious. Kitchen kitted out with all essentials. Loved the free WiFi & Bluetooth music. Hot tub was amazing. It rained all weekend but that never stopped us. Definitely 5 & will recommend. Thank you for making my daughters birthday a one to remember
Becky, Grimsby
Date of stay: 17th March 2017
The lodge was beautiful, convenient and well designed, however do not get a shower if you're emptying the bath ! Flooded everywhere. Apart from that one thing I would come back in a heart beat.

Glenda, Scunthorpe
Date of stay: 13th March 2017
2nd stay in a Wentworth lodge but 5th stay at Ribblesdale. Beautiful lodge but do feel that the hot tub is becoming a little dated. Could have been a little more powerful.

Roof over the hot tub would be the only change to the lodge.
Natalie, Rochdale
Date of stay: 30th January 2017
The lodge is spacious, clean and amiable of storage available for your stuff.

The master bedroom was great had a massive shower and bath in the bedroom.

The lodge 72 had a very small terrace area which was very disappointing - given previous ones have had quiet a reasonable sized terrace area.
Heather, Hyde
Date of stay: 27th January 2017
Huge clump of hair/dust/dirt on the floor left as we arrived.
Angela, South Tyneside

Susan, Chorley
Date of stay: 28th November 2016
The lodge is great - could have done with an extra mirror with socket for hairdryer and I would advise other guests to take their own plastic glasses to use on the decking. But that is the only thing I would change.
Caro
Date of stay: 28th November 2016
The lodge was great there were a few things missing in the kitchen which would have been helpful but didn't take away from an amazing weekend there
Maxine, Manchester
Date of stay: 28th November 2016

William, Sheffield
Date of stay: 18th November 2016

Victoria, Warrington
Date of stay: 10th October 2016
Brilliant house. Very spacious bedrooms and loved the fact it had a round table.
Website should make it. Lear that it isn't on the actual site though.
Gill, Rotherham
Date of stay: 3rd October 2016
Great lodge with everything we needed, did not expect facilities to include washer, freezer or iron - these were much appreciated especially as we had an 8 month old baby with us. Just wish we could have taken the lodge home with us plus the hot tub was well used
Aaron, Dumfries
Date of stay: 30th September 2016
Lodge was perfect.
Richard, Cumbernauld
Date of stay: 30th September 2016
Luxury accommodation in acres of beautiful parkland. Hindilinis gourmet cafe is an absolute treat. Ate in there one day and we were hooked. Went back four times for lunch and takeaway pizza. Food and presentation gorgeous and loved the relaxed atmosphere with flagstone floor and country furniture. It meant we could take our cocker spaniel in and he enjoyed the sights and smells, tucked under the table. With or without a dog, the whole estate is a bit of paradise if you enjoy walking.
David, Worksop
Date of stay: 23rd September 2016
Very nice lodge. Couldnt fault it one bit. Very clean and well laid out. Slightly disappointed with the outside decking however, this could have done with a good power wash. Also, whilst the weather was sunny, the trees stopped this coming onto the decking, where we would have liked to sit and read.
Denise, Blyth
Date of stay: 23rd September 2016
Outdoor area a let down, we were in lodge 70 and felt the decking area would have been inadequate had we had 6 adults in the lodge and the picnic table was cumbersome and took what little space there was, also deck had not been swept for what looked like quite some time but know with the setting amongst mature trees this would pose a problem to keep on top off but as lodge prepared for our arrival thought this could have been swept. Having said this we still had a fantastic stay.
Jonathan, Norwich
Date of stay: 23rd September 2016
Really good quality lodges with a high specification, the only thing for me that did not match this was the mattress on the bed.
Andrew, Preston
Date of stay: 19th September 2016
The lodge was near on perfect!
Thomas, Scunthorpe
Date of stay: 16th September 2016
The only thing missing was plastic drinking glasses for the Hot tub
Helen, Liverpool
Date of stay: 16th September 2016
Was disappointed in the outer space no where for the dog , would be good to have an area were the dogs could be let of there leads
Peter
Date of stay: 12th September 2016

Lorna, Morpeth
Date of stay: 2nd September 2016
We really enjoyed our time in our Bronte Lodge. It was warm, comfortable & well equipped.
The hot tub was used everyday & the children's activity park was a great success.
Unfortunately we didn't find out until the morning we were leaving that there was a swimming pool which could be used by everyone on site. There was no mention of it anywhere in the literature we were given or on the website. As our family are keen swimmers, it was disappointing to only find out about it through a casual remark by another one of the guests. It was well away from the main area & needed a pass code to access it.
Claire, Rugby
Date of stay: 2nd September 2016
very high standard of Finnish ..very comfortable and spacious with the added xtra of a hot tub and the shower was amazing..
Mark
Date of stay: 22nd August 2016
Upon arrival the lodge was very clean, hot tub ready for use, everything was there that we needed for the week.
A member of staff called round after about an hour to see if we had settled in ok and had any questions.
More than enough room within the lodge and private garden for the 5 of us, 2 adults a 15 yr old, a 11yr old and a 16 week old Dougue de Bordeaux.
Christina
Date of stay: 15th August 2016

Date of stay: 12th August 2016
Me and my husband came to Ribblesdale for our honeymoon and stayed in the Chatterley lodge for a week. We had an amazing time, total relaxation! We were visited by one of the staff member not even an hour of us arriving to check to see if everything was ok with our lodge which we felt was very welcoming. I must say this is now our new holiday destination, we have already started looking at availability for next year! Such a lovely place and we will be defiantly recommending Ribblesdale to others!

Date of stay: 22nd July 2016
Stayed at the gamekeepers Cottage for a week in July and we had a fabulous time. Ok the cottage could be doing with a bit of a paint but overall the place was truly amazing. Peace, quiet and tranquilly your thing then this is the place to go.
The park itself was immaculate and the staff so friendly and helpful.
The visiting Sika deer, owls, rabbits, ducks and herons make this the place to vist if you love watching wildlife. Would definitely go back.
Jojo, Halifax, West Yorkshire
Date of stay: 18th July 2016
Great lodge having 2 rooms each with their own bathroom which was perfect for us as we had a spare room to get ready in when our baby was sleeping.

The hot tub was fantastic

Date of stay: 13th May 2016
Really nice lodge with plenty of privacy.
Hazel, Eastbourne
Date of stay: 13th May 2016
The area, lodge and park all lovely. However as lovely as the lodge was I found it frustrating at small amount of storage space for clothes and not having a dressing table to be able to do hair and make up. This wouldn't stop me from going again though.
Stephen, Dunfermline
Date of stay: 9th May 2016
Loved this lodge my only criticsm was the outdoor furniture, a picnic bench is not quite fitting for this lovely lodge. A little bistro table and two chairs would have been more acceptable. Personally I refuse to use a picnic bench as not the easiest thing to get in and out of.
Catherine, York
Date of stay: 2nd May 2016
Lovely lodge, spacious and comfortable with a large deck and additional private garden area. Only criticism is the kitchen equipment. For a luxury lodge, the kitchen pans, crockery and utensils were not great quality and there wasn't enough of them.
Nina, Harrogate
Date of stay: 2nd May 2016
Nice place, lovely cafe would visit again.
Jonathan, Newcastle Upon Tyne
Date of stay: 2nd May 2016
Cottage was beautiful in a lovely tranquil location. Deer visited daily which made it extra special.
There were a few maintenance issues, could not get the heating to work and the sink in the bath was blocked (this certainly would have been noticed before we arrived and should have been fixed) but they attended and rectified although this did cause some inconvenience.
Caroline, Wakefield
Date of stay: 25th April 2016
Lodge was very clean, nicely furnished and private. Hot tub was of a good size and well screened - decking area is very cramped though and needs furniture updating (picnic table not a great use of space).
Lauren, Castle Douglas
Date of stay: 18th April 2016
We were very pleasantly surprised when we arrived at ribblesdale and our lodge. The lodge itself was really clean and fresh and had all the facilities we needed. Fab extras such as en suite and hot tub already heated up ready to jump in! The holiday was great value for money and compared to other lodges we have stayed in were of much higher quality. The location of the holiday park is great if you want to get away from it all as it is far out and is great for walking and exploring but if you want a holiday with activities and towns near by it may not be for you. Overall had a great time.
John, Nottingham
Date of stay: 15th April 2016
This cottage is warm, comfortable and very well equipped. The wi fi connexion was enjoyed by the younger members and the hot tub by everyone. And it was wonderfully situated close to the restaurant.

Date of stay: 11th April 2016
Best lodge I've ever stayed in!
Adrian, Grimsby
Date of stay: 11th April 2016
The lodge was so clean and well equipped. The kitchen had everything you would need to cook meals although we did eat out in the restaurant most of the time. The open plan living area was very spacious and tastefully decorated and had such a cosy feel.

The bedrooms were a good size and we loved the bath at the end of our bed (bit of a wow factor). TV's/DVD's were in both bedrooms and the master had doors opening onto the terrace which holds the hot tub.

We had a large garden area off our terrace which was very private and the hot tub was amazing.

All in all a beautiful lodge and we will definitely return again soon.

The sofas are looking a little dated (leather suite would be nicer), but the kitchen and bedroom / bathroom areas are fantastic, as is the secluded hot tub. A good wifi signal in the lodge would have been a big plus too.

We stayed Fri-Mon and there was no one in the adjoining cottage. The immediate location is superb and safe for our 2 dogs to come and go as they pleased. It snowed all weekend which made it even more magical and groundstaff were more than happy to grit paths and access roads daily. Log burner in living room made the room very cosy and the heating was more than adequite for the whole house. Hot tub was always at the required temperature, very clean and maintained by staff daily. (could have used towelling robes as advertised when booking as available in master suite but were not). Bed linen was spotless and beds comfortable with very spacious bedrooms. Kitchen was clean and glassware immaculatly clean. Could have used more cooking utensils as the ones provided were a little outdated and the crockery quite small for adults. Wifi was shaky with no phone signal but not an issue for guests without teenagers!
We had our 23 year old son with us who has mobility issues and the cottage was large enough for him to get around in his wheelchair on the lower level and he can manage stairs independantly.
Overall a fantastic location and relaxing weekend...cant wait to see the place in the summer.
Spencer, Grimsby
Date of stay: 15th January 2016
It was the first time that we have stopped in a lodge a great experience, the only thing that I was unsure about was the open plan effect.

Beautiful location and the lodge is lovely.
It is cosy and perfect for a romantic break. Love the layout of the lodge with access to the hot tub from the lounge area and the bedroom. The lodge was furnished beautifully especially the lovely four poster bed.
The only thing that was missing was utensils for cooking, there were no tongs or spatula for making a cooked breakfast in the morning!
Kate, Preston
Date of stay: 4th January 2016
Stayed in the Morland lodge 5 times now. We are a group of 4 sister in laws in our fifties and just love the Morland. It is so clean and very spacious. The hot tub is just fab. Can't wait for our next visit...
Brian, Barnsley

Trudy, Brighouse
Date of stay: 21st December 2015
We have visited many lodges, but this was the best . Very clean, spacious and extremely well stocked. The kitchen had enough glasses to host a party, the hot tub was cleaned daily and was very hot. Lots of towels and the whole lodge was very warm. The only thing we would have liked was WIFI,
Ideal is you have a dog as the decking was gated , we have a young puppy and this was very important.
The in lodge beautician was an added bonus ,
Will be back soon

Always stayed in the lodge but tried the cottage this time. Lovely suprise when we entered very much home from home. Only one fault there is only one bathroom and when 6 people all need it it wasnt very good. Could certainly do with a downstairs toilet

Lovely lodge and surroundings could do with some kind of canopy over hot tub for when weather bad. Onsite restaurant food lovely.

I loved this little lodge, it was all ready for us once we had arrived, heating was on, it was really cosy. Our lodge was on the small side, but there was only two of us so, that didn't really matter.

Living room & kitchen were really nice, one big room with lots of facilities, dishwasher, cooker and all the little bits such as dishwasher tablets which saved us having to buy any!

The bedroom was stunning, it was a really nice touch to have the bath & shower in the same room, it was all very clean with fresh towels. The shower was like a waterfall shower, could have been slightly warmer but was still very nice & the bath was brilliant! If you didn't fancy going in the Jacuzzi the bath did that for you, positioned perfectly to watch the television and relax! Can't complain about the bed, it was lovely and soft.

The outside area with Jacuzzi was nice, with the weather not being great we didn't use the space much but when it was dry outside, the view was stunning with the hills and fields in the distance. I would suggest some sort of covering above the Jacuzzi when the weather isn't great.

The only thing I could complain about was lack of wardrobe space, the only storage space was along the hall way, so it would have been nice to have some drawers or wardrobe in the bedroom, if there was room.

Apart from that - brilliant.

We would return to Ribblesdale Lodges . The park was in a lovely setting even in the rain.
The staff where happy to help when the boiler kept going off,and we had no hot water.

Darcy Lodge had everything we needed for our four night break. It was spacious, private and comfortable. A good way to see a little of the Yorkshire Dales, Harrogate and surrounding areas - we were ideally situated.

It would be helpful, though, if there were some written instructions provided in the lodge on how to use the central heating thermostat .

Date of stay: 9th November 2015
wasnt quiet expecting it to be as nice as it was, very warm n welcoming, if i was to moan about one thing, it would be the hot tub, could of been on decking instead of on the grass(as we had alot of rain, but can honestly say, the quality of the lodge, ime reluctant to moan about a bit of wet grass under my feet)ideal place for a romantic week end, enjoyed our stay very much, and would visit again,

Huge and luxury lodge with walk in shower and free standing bath and also a hot tub! Just what I loved. Peace, quiet and relaxing luxury facilities! Bit unhappy with the preparation of the lodge - it can't have been used for a while as was very dusty and all the net curtains were mouldy - they should have been washed in time for the season. But overall the lodge was fantastic

The Knightley lodge is of a modern and quite well thought out design. The bathrooms were excellent and the bath in the master bedroom adds a nice romantic touch however the bedroom could do with being a bit bigger as a result.

TVs in every room although some had lost their original manufacturer remotes which had been replaced with "magic" ones that didn't work. Some of the furniture was showing signs of wear and tear, some mold on curtains.

The kitchen was well equipped with a microwave and dish washer and an "old style" gas kettle added a novelty factor - haven't used one of those since the 1980s.

The heating is always on, either 15 or 23 degrees which you can switch between. We had no issues apart from on the last (and coldest) night of our stay when the heating stopped working but then, as if by magic, was running perfectly in the morning. Perhaps the gas is rationed?

The main issue we had was the cleanliness. The wooden floors had simply been swept and were still quite dirty and dusty. Lots of dust on the tops of skirting boards, dust bunnies drifting about - no cleaning under coffee table so thick layer of dust, specs of old food etc there. It would be an idea too to wipe down the doors around the door handles - lots of mucky finger marks. The bathrooms were cleaned to a high standard however.

The hot tub area is not completely private although some thought has gone into making it somewhat secluded - you'll see that for yourself if you stay in a Knightley. We got buzzed by a drone on our first evening!

Wifi was very poor - this may or may not be an issue for you. To be honest it was good to get away from the rat race for a bit.

I had a 3 night stay on arrival it was a little cyanotic to say the least however i was eventually given my lodge no when we arrived we started to have some lunch when the plates where pulled out they was covered in dried food should this type of thing be checked for £200+ a night i think so however when we looked at the floor it was covered in Dog hairs pointless complaining but it spoiled my break that i was looking forward to would i use it again not sure for the money

Date of stay: 27th March 2015
Although comfortable and well appointed, the lodge was let down by the fact that it was very tired decoration wise and there were dirty finger marks on many surfaces which leads one to wonder how well it had been cleaned. Some of the blinds were broken and the sofa cushions had a tendency to slide off

Lovely location and lodge, would be nice to have a few more facilities onsite. The lodge we stayed in was lovely and spacious however we felt a little more time could have been spent on the cleanliness as we found the sink area had residue and there were hairs from previous guests on the sofa.

Date of stay: 23rd February 2015
Great lodge. Only negatives 1) a very informative guest folder but rules and regulations need a softer wording. "You must do this, you cant do this" type of comments and 2) spend a few pound extra and put more cutlery and glassware in there. 4 forks, 4 knives! We even ended up buying more glasses as 2 wine glases, 2 champagne glasses and even those werent a matching pair. Little things that you remember

Chatterley lodge is beautifully furnished. The only thing I would wish to be changed is that a retractable awning or something similar was provided for over the hot tub as it rained constantly and we couldn't use it which was a shame as we paid extra for a lodge with one and didn't consider 72 hours of rain when we did!

Gamekeeper Cottage facilities were just what we wanted a quiet location away from everything with beautiful surroundings and walks. Close enough by car (or enthusiastic walkers, but a bit difficult in the dark) to get back to civilisation for a meal out at the local Italian, which we tried and we really enjoyed the food. Would make a return visit to both the cottage and the Italian.

Chatterley Lodge number 9 was in good condition, very clean and garden well-kempt. Having never been on a lodge holiday before it felt luxurious and I loved the hot-tub outside and spa bath inside. I will now be looking for both those on future holidays!

Small issues / improvements:- The boiler in the located in the porch had a slight leak which dripped into a bucket on the floor, an unpleasant smell became more apparent further into the week.
the front room could also do with a floor lamp as otherwise you have to have the ceiling lights on.

Lodge was great, only issue I had was the shower needs a small shelf or rack for shower gel, I had to keep bending down for the shower gel and shampoo on the shower tray.

The look with the bathroom was great but the living room let it down, the wall out side was not high to stop next door from looking in on you should be higher or timber fence up

Holiday was very relaxing and quiet. The whole park is set to a very high standard and is very dog friendly, which was very good for us as this was the first holiday that we had taken our dog with us. The wentworth lodge is ideal for couples seeking a relaxing break away and I would highly recommend it.

WOW was the first thing the kids said as we walked though the door, we found it very large, luxuroius, spotlessly clean, and very very comfortable, biggest hottub weve ever been in, extremely wonderful value for money

The lodge was very clean. Included cooker and fridge/freezer, TV, DVD player and hot tub. There are 2 shower rooms, one with a bath and a bath at the end of the master bedroom's bed. Beds were comfortable.Heating is good; too hot really as there is either a hot or cool thermostat. The hot tub is on the decking which in our case was shaded from sun for almost all the day. There is a view directly into woodland, which is overhanging the deck in places. There are also visiting Peacock's which like to live their 'calling cards' on the hot tub! Lovely to look at but soon become tiresome with the cleaning up. Hot tub is serviced daily but even this couldn't keep up with the mess left by the birds. The accommodation is great, but the fact that there is nothing much to do in the direct vicinity of these lodges reduces there appeal - unless you just want to stay in the lodge all the time.

We love it at ribblesdale, but this lodge looked a bit tired, the fridge was noisy and the bottle holder on the inside of the door was broken, the shower leaked and the tv had a wavy line through it as it warmed up and was very noticeable, could also have had a table and chairs instead of a picnic bench outside, but we had a lovely peaceful few days and the weather was perfect

A bedroom mirror, towel rail or hook in bathroom and coat hooks in hallway would have been useful. Coat hangers in wardrobes were completely useless, collapsed when put clothing on them

A lovely large hot tub especially when there are only two of you . The leather settee was too soft for our liking. One of the blinds in the kitchen didn't work and two of the blinds in the bedroom . Apart from that a very spacious well equipped lodge.

Date of stay: 13th June 2014
Great place for couples and families, very well equipped kitchen. We had two medium dogs and the garden was fully enclosed which was great. The cottage is right next to the cafe which was convenient and at first we thought would be noisy but was very quiet. I would highly recommend the large breakfast, keeps you going all day!
Elizabeth, Stoke On Trent
Date of stay: 9th June 2014
The lodge was beautiful and clean with a great decking area. I did think that it could have done with a curtain or blind across the front door because people could see straight into the front room. other than that I have no complaints.
Michelle, Stockport
Date of stay: 6th June 2014
Everything we could have wanted. The lodge was very clean and contained everything we needed. The hot tub was superb and someone came to check it every day. We had to call the maintenance team a couple of times for help with some appliances and they arrived very quickly and we're very helpful. Some instructions for the appliances/heating would be useful. A Very well maintained site in general.

This is the best place we have ever stayed in Britain. Very peaceful and relaxing. Everything was as advertised and I have no complaints. The cottage has its quirks but you would expect this from a listed building. A really good holiday.

The lodge was superb and the hot tub was exceedingly secluded. We had problems with the spa bath on our first day and whilst the park were unable to resolve the problem, they were very helpful and courteous throughout our stay.

The accommodation was fine, although the hot tub would not switch off, we had to turn it off at the mains. The staff did solve the issue but the fault came back. Also could not switch the heating off.

Fantastic lodge, everything you could ever want.
Patricia, Wallsend
Date of stay: 28th March 2014
Accomodation as described, the only downside and it is small, is we forgot to take sugar, salt, pepper and paper towels, whilst these have been provided in the past at other cottages/lodges, we were surprised to find them unavailable.

The lodge really had the wow factor for us and we won't hesitate to return! There was everything we needed and more. I am particularly observant with cleanliness and it was very clean. I did notice the kitchen drawers needed a wipe out but that was the only thing I could see despite my cleaning compulsion!

There were a few faults in the lodge but more cosmetic then anything else. There was an offer on so did not bother us but it would have if we had paid full price....

My only negative which is not really an issue. There was no tin opener in the kitchen utensils!! But absolutely everything else was thought of. Complimentary champagne on ice was a wonderful touch to our romantic break and the staff even provided a towel for my dog. As I say the thought that indivualises your stay is appreciated
Susan, Broughton
Date of stay: 31st January 2014
The only thing that let the lodge down from my point of view was the bed as it left me waking up each morning with a sore back - although my partner found the bed comfortable and didn't suffer at all!

Date of stay: 9th December 2013
Absolutely fantastic weekend break, from start to finish. We stayed in the Gamekeepers cottage and the place was stunning. Staff were incredibly helpful. If I had to give a negative it would be that there was no lighting around the hot tub and as we stayed in winter this made it impossible to use from early evening. I would highly recommend a visit.
Natalie, Barnsley

Had a wonderful 4 nights here , lodge was beautiful, and loved the hot tub .. also used the outside pool which was an unexpected bonus .. lovely food in the bistro too .. highly recommend this place .
Lynsey
Lodge was lovely secluded garden with hot tub, clean and well equipped. Both rooms on suite which I hadn’t expected so great surprise. Children loved the outdoor pool and park. Only downside was gaps in fence in garden so the dog escaped a couple of times.
Nicola
Stayed for a long weekend as a couple. Thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet of the park. Well equipped accommodation with everything we needed. Hot tub brilliant!
Darren
Relaxing with beautiful wild life and countryside
Steve
Great weekend break for just myself and wife and we stayed in a Wentworth Lodge . We went for a bit of relaxation and to try a Hot Tub brake and we really enjoyed it a nice walk during the day and a few drinks in the evening and a nice relaxing time in the Hot Tub . We had lunch in the on site restaurant which we enjoyed and all the staff we met were helpful and courteous and yes this will not be our last visit to Ribblesdale Lodges.
Maureen
We had a wonderful time. Surroundings and views were fantastic. Cabin clean and comfortable. Only complaint the signal on the free view was poor also the DVD in the living area wasn’t connected small problems as the overall experience was great and we will return
Scott

Fun Days Out near Ribblesdale Lodges

about 11 Miles
Head for the Bowland Wild Boar park and we don't think you will be disappointed.  A popular attraction in Preston there is so much to do for the whole family.  From picnics, walks and wildlife to experiencing feeding the animals you are sure to have a memorable day out.  Also popular is the kids tractor play area.  For rest and relaxation the cafe is ideal serving hot drinks and snacks with a lovely view over the pond and wildlife feeding station.  The Forest of Bowland has been declared an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
about 25 Miles
Happy Mount Park has attractions for the whole family including several play areas, a miniature railway, crazy golf, putting green and trampolines, there is also a paddling pool where the little ones can splash around in the summer and a café where the adults can relax with a drink. During the summer months and especially during school holidays live music can often be enjoyed.
about 26 Miles
Here at the Wildlife Oasis you can really get up close to the animals and experience a mix of exotic wildlife and hand son displays.  See butterflies, birds and even bats flying around.  You don't have to plan your visit according to weather either with the tropical hall and butterfly house undercover.  Sunny days are ideal for some of the inhabitants however with the monkeys and Lemurs loving to sunbathe.  The mission of Lakeland's Wildlife Oasis is to engender and foster an interest and appreciation of the natural world which, in our belief underpins wildlife conservation; and, where possible to contribute and encourage contribution to the conservation of wildlife and wild places.  You know that you are helping with this mission if you choose to visit.

Located in the Milnthorpe area of Cumbria we love this local attraction.  With an eclectic mix of fascinating wildlife and hands on displays this centre is educational as well as fun.  You can wander around at leisure admiring the exhibits which range from chameleons to computers. Some of the most threatened species are kept at the park as part if international breeding programmes.  Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs which are great value for money.  There are discounts for pre-booked parties of 12 or more.

This is an outstanding world heritage site located close to Ripon in the North Yorkshire area. Nature lovers will be in their element with an abundance of wide open spaces to explore and there are special guided tours for families.  Some of the highlights may include seeing wild deer and bats during your visit.  The grounds are fantastic to wander round but there is also an Elizabethan Mansion, Victorian Church, Georgian Water Garden and the finest example of Cistercian Abbey ruins in the country - Well worth a visit!
about 33 Miles
Situated in the Ripon area of North Yorkshire this popular theme park makes a fantastic day out for the whole family.  The more daring will love the big and thrilling rides such as Raptor Attack, The Ultimate and Trauma Tower.  For the little ones there are some excellent attractions such as Flying Camels, Dodgems and a Magic Wheel.  Toddlers will like the Dragon Boats and the Lightwater Express amongst other things. There are over 40 rides and attractions in total and we think this is excellent value for money too.  If you book your tickets in advance online you can save even more money and beat the queues.
about 36 Miles
This is a recommended day out for families with young children visiting the Bedale area of Yorkshire.  Visit the farm and receive a warm welcome as well as a guided tour.  You will have the chance to bottle feed the lambs, bath a pig and handle some of the smaller animals.  Kids will love the big sandpit and the outdoor play area. There is also a cafe and indoor play area for when the weather is not on your side.
about 39 Miles
This is a very popular theme park with three different locations.  The theme park in Warrington contains not only the theme park but also Gullivers Splash Zone and Gullivers Star Studios.  The Solash Zone is a fully heated indoor water play factory fun for all ages which will appeal on rainy days.  Throughout the year there are seasonal events too such as the Halloween and Fireworks event taking place from 23rd to 31st October.  You can book online to save time and secure your tickets during busy periods.  Over 50% of the rides are actually under cover so you don't need to worry about the British weather spoiling the fun.
