The lodge was lovely and the setting beautiful, but I have to say, its quite pricey for what you get around here. Still, worth a visit!

We recently stayed at Goddard's Mead and were genuinely impressed. Rob and Sharon have done a fantastic job turning this historic building into a cosy, welcoming place. From the warm greeting we received from them and Bonnie to the lovely surroundings, it really felt like a home away from home. The location is perfect for exploring Essexs charming villages like Thaxted, which is worth wandering around for its fascinating history and beautiful buildings. Definitely recommend!

We had a really relaxing stay here! The site was super quiet and easy to settle into, with everything clean and ready when we arrived. The hot tub was a real highlight, perfect after a long day. Parking right outside was handy. We did miss having a coffee table in the lounge and a bit more storage for food, but nothing major. The beds were a bit short for us, which was a surprise since we're not tall, but overall the place felt modern and comfy. Check-in was seamless-no fuss, keys inside and we didnt need to see anyone, which was great during these times. Would definitely recommend!

We had an amazing stay at this place! The owners are genuinely lovely and went out of their way to help us. The cottage is super charming, with that classic half-timbered look that we loved. The shower was powerful and the cosy kitchen and living space made us feel right at home. Parking right next to the cottage was a real bonus and everything was spotless. Plus, the nearby walks to Thaxted are just perfect for a peaceful getaway. Highly recommend!

From the warm welcome we received from them and Bonnie to the cosy, comfortable rooms, everything felt just right. The location's perfect too - exploring Thaxted and nearby villages revealed some really charming sights and stories. Definitely worth a visit if youre after a relaxing break in Essex!

Honestly, we were a bit disappointed because Lime Shore Deluxe (No: 6) didnt back onto a hedge like we were told, so privacy was lacking when using the hot tub. We only used it once because of that. Still, weve already booked again for next April in a different van, so not all bad!

We had such a lovely stay at Goddard's Mead! Rob and Sharon put so much care into restoring this historic building and their warm welcome really made us feel at home. Bonnie was adorable too! We had an amazing stay here! The lodge was incredibly clean, honestly the cleanest place we've ever stayed in. Everything from the oven to the bin, bedding and surfaces seemed br and new - it was spotless. We really appreciated the little touches, like the milk in the fridge and tea and coffee sachets, which made a difference. When we asked about using a disposable BBQ, they went out of their way to make a st and for us, which was so kind. Weve already booked for next year because we loved it so much. We were a bit worried about Covid, but felt very safe - they even ask if you've experienced any symptoms when you check out. The park and play area for kids are perfect for families. Its a peaceful spot, close to Looe, with lovely views and parking right next to the lodges. Overall, cant recommend it enough!

We stayed at this charming cottage on a working farm and honestly, it was perfect for our getaway. The place felt very secluded and private, with a lovely garden thats dog-proof and nicely furnished. The owners, Robert and Sharon, are genuinely lovely people. Inside, the cottage is really spacious with well-equipped kitchen and bathroom, plus a super comfy bed. There are plenty of walks nearby and Thaxted has some great spots to eat-The Star and The Maypole are personal favourites. Wed definitely recommend it!

The place was really lovely and we enjoyed our stay. Only downside was the vacuum being full, so we had to empty it ourselves. Still a great experience!
