Cheddar Gorge is a dramatic limestone gorge in the Mendip Hills, with cliffs up to 137 metres deep. A day ticket covers Gough's Cave, Jacob's Ladder and the Museum of Prehistory. Gough's Cave is where Cheddar Man, Britain's oldest complete human skeleton, was found, and its stalactites and stalagmites were shaped by an underground river.

SS Great Britain is a museum ship on Bristol's harbourside, designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel. When launched in 1843 she was the largest passenger ship in the world, and one of the first iron, propeller-driven ocean liners.

Walk into Cheddar Gorge's famous cave to see rock formations and learn about its Ice Age past.
Gough's Cave sits in Cheddar Gorge on the Mendip Hills. The first 820 metres are open to the public as a show cave, and this stretch holds most of the cave's more spectacular formations. It runs on to Diamond Chamber, the end of the show cave today.
Tip: Combine your visit with the Cheddar Man and the Cannibals Museum in the Gorge, where you can see a replica of the Magdalenian remains.

Glastonbury Abbey is the ruined remains of a monastery in Somerset. The ruins are a grade I listed building and scheduled monument, open as a visitor attraction. The abbey was founded in the early medieval period, enlarged in the 10th century and rebuilt after a fire in 1184. By the 14th century it was one of the richest and most powerful monasteries in England.

The Bishop's Palace in Wells stands next to the cathedral and has been the residence of the bishops of Bath and Wells since the early thirteenth century. Its walls, gatehouse and moat were added in the 14th century, and you cross the moat by a bridge to the gatehouse, which has a drawbridge and portcullis.
Tip: Look up in the chapel and great hall areas for the stone bosses carved with oak leaves and the Green Man.

We really enjoyed our weekend at Hare Lodge. The place was super clean, spacious and comfortable - perfect for a relaxing break. Even though its on a farm in the countryside, its just a quick drive to the coast and Cheddar, which was handy. The hot tub was a lovely bonus and the info pack the owners left with recommendations for pubs and takeaways was really useful. Wed happily stay again!

We had a lovely stay at the lodge. The spa bath was spotlessly clean and really relaxing to use. The location was perfect - nestled in a tidy field, just a short walk from the farmhouse but not too close. The rooms were spacious and nicely decorated, making it feel cosy. If you're after a quiet escape, this place ticks all the boxes. Wed definitely come back!
We had an awesome weekend with friends and their dog at this place. The lodge is perfect for 5 or 6 people, especially if youve got a pet - plenty of room to unwind by the fire or relax in the hot tub. We loved how close Cheddar Gorge and Weston-super-Mare are; both make for fantastic day trips, only about 20-30 minutes away. The walk through Cheddar Gorge was a highlight, took us around 3 hours at a leisurely pace and offered some stunning views. We also got to enjoy the fire pit and pizza oven - definitely bring some skewers since theres no grill on top. The pizza oven took a bit to cook after a big fire, but it was a fun addition to our stay. Wed definitely return!

We had such a lovely time staying at Hare Lodge! The lodges are absolutely beautiful and really feel like a home away from home. Everything we needed was there, from the hot tub to the cosy log burner, which made our evenings so relaxing. WiFi was no trouble at all, which was a relief. We were a group of us-my partner, our grown-up daughters and son-in-law-and everyone loved it. The location is perfect for exploring places like Cheddar Gorge and Wells. Were already planning to come back in summer and hopefully stay here again!
We recently enjoyed a fantastic weekend here with our family of six - including three adults and three teenagers. Our hosts really went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable, which we truly appreciated. The lodge itself was spotless and super cosy, perfect for an autumn escape. We loved chilling by the fire, soaking in the hot tub and sitting around the outdoor fire pit in the evening. Getting the fire hot enough to use as a pizza oven was a bit tricky, even after some tips from the hosts, but honestly, it wasnt a big deal since we just used the kitchen oven instead. We did read some reviews about kitchen utensils beforeh and, so we brought some of our own, which worked out fine. The setting is so peaceful, nestled on a farm and it was lovely to enjoy the quiet countryside. The welcome pack had some great suggestions and we had a lovely, windy walk up Crooks Peak before exploring Cheddar. Wed definitely recommend this spot - it really was everything we were hoping for. Just one tiny thing - we think a later check-out time, maybe 11am, would be better, as 10am felt a bit early, but we totally underst and the need for cleaning. Thanks again to our lovely hosts!

We recently spent a peaceful weekend with our elderly Labrador at this lodge. The place was spotless and cosy, especially with the log fire roaring away. Its perfect for relaxing and exploring the local area. Definitely a spot wed recommend if you're after a chill getaway!

A lovely, peaceful few days staying at Hare Lodge. Lodge was nice and clean and well equipped. Nestled into the countryside but only a short drive to Wells, Glastonbury etc. Hosts were very friendly and we had a tour of their farm that my son enjoyed. Would definately hope to go back again in the future.

This is our second visit to Little Moorland Farm Lodges, it is remote so you do need a car to get to a pub, shop or takeaway but the lodges have everything you need. It’s well situated for a trip to Cheddar, Weston SuperMare or Clark’s Shopping Village. If you love tranquility this is the place.
One of the best lodges I’ve had the pleasure to stay at and the owners are friendly and helpful also highly recommended.
We loved it at Little Moorlands. The lodge was perfect for us and the hot tub was great. The owners were available if we needed anything but also didn’t bother us. So many lovely places around. You do need a car because it Is in the middle of nowhere. We definitely recommend.

This was a well deserved weekend break for 6 best friends who have weathered working through the NHS covid storm. It was beautifully peaceful with pubs a good 50 minute walk away. Beautifully decorated.
