Cheddar Woods Resort and Spa

In a lovely location and great places to visit without travelling too far, but accommodation could do with a refurb.

The lodge was looking very tired and dated smelt of wet dog.and furniture was very stained and made you feel dirty

Lovely, well equipped lodge. Warm and cosy. Nice comfy double bedroom, however second bedroom not really suitable for adults. Great outdoor area with lovely outdoor furniture.

Cheddar woods is a lovely park with staff and facilities. It was well looked after and quiet surroundings. We stayed in a 3 bedroom dog friendly Axbridge lodge. It was very comfortable, with plenty of space. It was really clean, well equipped and plenty warm enough. Sadly no dog gate on the veranda, although we improvised with a chair from the outdoor furniture. We just about squeezed our two cars on the parking spot too. A good standard of accommodation, a little tired in one or two places, but 4 star Id say for dog friendly stays. The pool & sauna was limited opening but it fitted with our plans, and was well cared for and great to use. The shop was limited, and as often the way expensive, as was the nearby convenience store. The restaurant and bar was lovely atmosphere and meal average priced and tasty. I recommend the woodland walks, especially if you have a dog, some great views through the trees. It is walkable to get to cheddar gorge, but along a very Busy road, surrounding area is beautiful with lots to do .

Overall comfort was great, the lodge wasn't that clean, the outside table was dirty on arrival and covered in cigarette ash. Lots of cobwebs in corners

My experience at Cheddar Spa and Resort was absolutely outstanding from start to finish. The moment I arrived, I was greeted with genuine warmth and professionalism by the staff, who went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and cared for. Every team member I encountered was attentive, friendly, and eager to ensure my stay was as relaxing and enjoyable as possible.

The lodge was spacious and clean. The kitchen had all the equipment I needed during my stay. Bed was very comfortable and I slept soundly. The only downside was that the sofas had seen better days and were a bit uncomfortable. One of the sofas was quite badly stained on the arm. The hot tub was checked daily during my stay. Unfortunately the weather wasnt brilliant so I didnt use the hot tub as much as I would have liked.

Lovely lodge, needed a little TLC specially to the carpets specially the one in the hallway which is coming away from the floor, did cause one of us to have a little trip but over all the accommodations was great.

I fet the table chairs needed updating. Otherwise no real issue. More clothes hangers needed in both wardrobe

All provisions excellent and bed height perfect for person with mobility issues. Only issue was the awkward approach but as mentioned the staff were very helpful and responded to our questions so we are booked for a future visit at similar lodge with better approach.

Very good everything we needed plus little extras

No hooks to use, no drawers in twin room, only top shelves in wardrobe and a bedside table with one drawer.

We had a lovely weekend in Cheddar. The accommodation was great, we loved the hot tub! We would definitely recommend.

TV in every room. Be king with chairs, great to sit outside. Can park your car next to the lodge.nice warm shower.

The perfect retreat in which to recharge your batteries a real home from home

Quite small for 6 of us the bedrooms were really small and we did find not enough room to sit down on 2 x 2 seater settees so some had to sit on dining chairs wont be staying in this lodge again

?We recently spent a week at Cheddar Woods Resort, and our experience was a mix of genuinely positive aspects and notable disappointments, particularly with our accommodation.?The resort's location is undoubtedly its strongest selling point. Nestled in a naturally beautiful area, it offers a fantastic base for exploring the surrounding countryside and attractions. The views were stunning, and the setting felt very tranquil and relaxing, making it easy to escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life.?The facilities on-site were good and offered plenty of things to do, but they are in need of a refresh. Many of the amenities looked tired and could benefit from some overdue maintenance to bring them back up to a high standard. Similarly, the staff were friendly enough, but seemed largely uninterested in providing a more attentive or 'magical' experience.?Unfortunately, the real letdown was our caravan, a Mendip 2 with a hot tub. Despite not bringing a dog with us, the caravan was permeated with a strong, unpleasant dog smell that lingered for our entire week's stay. Inside, the fixtures and fittings were heavily worn and damaged, with many not even working properly. We also noticed a lack of basic cleanliness, with visible dust on skirting boards and ledges. The worst of it was the mould we found on the sealant in the shower and stains of unknown substances throughout the caravan, which was a significant hygiene issue. We decided not to raise these problems with the staff, as we felt they would be unable to rectify the issues and we simply accepted the low standard of the caravan for the duration of our holiday.?In summary, Cheddar Woods Resort is a great destination if you prioritize location and natural surroundings. However, prospective visitors should be prepared for facilities that require some tender loving care and, based on our experience, a significant gamble on the quality of their caravan. While the staff were friendly, don't go expecting a truly exceptional holiday experience. The resort has a huge amount of potential, but it's clear that the caravans, in particular, are in dire need of a deep clean and some serious repairs. (See the pictures)

Very spacious, spotless clean. Hot tub we used every day and it was tested every day. Couldnt fault it. Perfect location for us as we were all adults, so nice and quiet.

Toilet wasnt working properly and was fixed twice but still not working correctly

We stayed in lodge number 155, it was set in a lovely area with views of trees out of most windows, beautifully clean and well appointed with lots of indoor and outdoor space...I would definitely recommend and am looking forward to a return visit

Lovely accommodation. When we arrived it was spotless clean, alot of cozy space and the hot tub perfect.
