Newquay Zoo is a 13-acre zoo and garden site in Trenance Leisure Park, in the middle of Newquay. It is the largest zoo in Cornwall, and its planted grounds have won a Britain in Bloom Gold award. Screech Owl Sanctuary & Animal Park is a home for owls and other animals on Goss Moor, near Indian Queens in mid Cornwall. Founded in 1990 by Carolyn Screech, it shows owls from around the world, with British, European, African, American, Asian, Australasian and West Indian species. It also rescues and rehabilitates wild owls in Cornwall, and there is a Siberian Eagle Owl breeding project.
Tip: If you want an owl or animal experience, call ahead to book, as busy periods may mean walk-up requests can't be fitted in.

St Michael's Mount is a tidal island in Mount's Bay, near Penzance, linked to Marazion by a causeway of granite setts. At low tide you can walk across; when the tide is in, ferry boats run instead. On the island you'll find a historic village with cobbled streets, a harbour, shops, a café and a restaurant, all beneath the ramparts of the castle.

The Eden Project sits in a reclaimed china clay pit in Cornwall. At the bottom of the pit are two huge domed Biomes made of inflated cells on steel frames. The Rainforest Biome is one of the largest indoor rainforests in the world, with tropical plants such as banana, coffee, rubber and giant bamboo. The Mediterranean Biome has olives, grape vines and sculptures.

Wander restored Victorian gardens, a subtropical jungle and Europe's only remaining pineapple pit, near Mevagissey.
Heligan is a set of Victorian gardens near Mevagissey that were neglected after the First World War and restored in the 1990s. The story is a big part of the visit: 16 of the gardeners died in the war, and the gardens were lost to the brambles before being brought back to life.
Tip: Pre-booking is advisable for day visitors, and if you use a sat nav, approach via St Austell and follow the brown signs to avoid narrow single-track lanes.

Pendennis Castle is an artillery fort built by Henry VIII near Falmouth between 1540 and 1542. It was designed to protect Carrick Roads, the waterway at the mouth of the River Fal, and works alongside St Mawes Castle on the opposite side of the water.

Godrevy Lighthouse stands on Godrevy Island in St Ives Bay, about 300 metres off Godrevy Head. The white octagonal tower is 26 metres high and was built in 1858-1859 after the wreck of the steamer Nile in a storm. It marks the Stones, a reef that was a hazard to shipping for centuries.

We had a fantastic stay at this cosy cottage! The place is super well-kept and fully equipped, making it easy to settle in. Loved the dog-friendly walks just outside and meeting the farm animals, especially Penelope the pig, was a real highlight. The host was lovely, friendly and quick to respond. Definitely coming back - such great value!

We had a fantastic weekend stay here! The place was perfect for what we needed and we really enjoyed ourselves. Our dogs had a blast, especially with the underfloor heating - they didnt want to leave the garden! Lunas wagging tail got a bit strained, but the vet says shes fine. All in all, a great trip for us and the pups!

We had a lovely stay at this cosy cottage tucked away on a working farm, but its surprisingly private. Robert and Sharon are such lovely hosts, making us feel really welcome. The place is super spacious and the kitchen and bathroom are well-equipped. Honestly, the bed was so comfy we didnt want to get up! The garden is perfect for dogs, totally secluded with nice furniture. There are plenty of walks nearby and we enjoyed dining at The Star and The Maypole in Thaxted. Definitely recommend it!

I was surprised how small the caravan was for a silver plus but then this is my first caravan holidayOn the booking it says all beds made up & none of ours were so we had to try make a bed up after an 8 hour drive in I bedroom with 8 inches either side of the bed ( not impressed )The boiler wasn't switched on but it was sorted fairly quicklyThe breadwinner was rusty so we didn't use itThe van however was clean & had heating throughout , a good tv & nice decking ( though this did not get cleaned until Wednesday)Overall a good holiday but I would not say it. Was a silver plus , but as I say I am not experienced with caravansHad already booked the same for July but might try to upgrade

We overloaded the car, only realising how many thoughtful touches there were once we got there. The welcome pack was full of useful info and menus, which was a nice touch. Our dogs loved the enclosed garden and the hot tub was just fantastic after long days out. Sharon and Rob were quick to respond if we had any questions. A really great break - well be back for sure!

We had a lovely stay! The owners were genuinely kind and went out of their way to help us. The cottage itself is charming with its traditional half-timbered look and its spotlessly clean. The shower was surprisingly powerful, which was a bonus. We loved the cosy kitchen and comfy bed. Parking right next to the cottage made everything so easy. Lots of great walks nearby, especially through fields to Thaxted, which is a picturesque village with lovely old houses and a windmill. Definitely recommend!

We had a fantastic stay! The house was super well equipped and kept us cosy despite the miserable weather. The bath was a real treat and the shower was perfect after a long day. Being on a flight path didnt bother us at all, so dont let that put you off. Its in a quiet spot, great for dogs who dislike fireworks. Truly a lovely place, thanks a lot!

We spent a week here in mid-July with our two little dachshunds and honestly, the dogs loved it! They made friends and explored the charming village of Thaxted. The cottage itself is really lovely, especially the hot tub - perfect after those scorching days, since it was cooled down and super refreshing. The hosts were so welcoming, it was nice to see them taking their dogs out to the fields each day. Being near Stansteds flight path was actually pretty interesting - I enjoyed watching the planes land. Would definitely recommend this place!

A very good, well-maintained site and spotlessly clean static caravan. We would have benefitted from an on-site shop selling food essentials but a 10 minute walk into Perranporth could provide all we needed. The site is at the top of a steep hill and this should be taken into account if you are walking to and from the town. Overall, this was a very enjoyable holiday experience for us.
Lovely holiday park, we stayed in a Gold 2 Plus, which was very clean and tidy. Great location and plenty of shops and restaurants in Perranporth and the beach is amazing. Would recommend Liskey Hill and would holiday again there.
First time on and what a amazing site just 15 minutes walk to the beach and the shops and the view from the park over the sea was so beautiful ?
On arrival we were allocated a caravan that unfortunately for our needs was not ideally positioned- right by the entrance next to a busy main road - absolutely nothing wrong with the caravan . Having a very lively 12 month old lab and very limited outdoor seating area and the hot weather predicted we could just not see ourselves being able to relax at all . I went right back to the lady in reception (can’t remember her name ) where I explained our situation . She done all she could to help and luckily there was one other caravan available which was so much better positioned for our needs. Very grateful she took the time to help .

We really enjoyed our stay at Liskey Hill. The views were amazing and the caravan was spacious. We like walking and the walk into Perranporth was lovey. We would definitely stay again.
