Set in the grounds of a historic 400 year old manor house and just a couple of miles from the fascinating little island that is St Michael's Mount, Kenegie Manor is close to Penzance, the most westerly major town in Cornwall. The surrounding area is marked out by towering cliffs, moors, secluded beaches and spectacular scenery.

There's something for everyone at Kenegie Manor - from walking in the landscaped grounds, playing tennis and swimming in the indoor heated pool to relaxing in the sauna or spending a cosy evening in the Old Forge Bar. There are also plenty of pubs and restaurants in both Penzance and Helston, offering a good choice of locally sourced food.

The accommodation is of an excellent standard, and comprises a selection of apartments and bungalows set in the manor grounds. The Dormer Traditional Cottage is well equipped with microwave, dishwasher and washing machine and sleeps up to six people.

There are plenty of delightful Cornish villages to visit, such as Helston and Falmouth, where you could check out The Princess Pavilions with its year-round programme of entertainment and live music.

Our Top Tip
"Falmouth is also home to Sea Squirts where children as young as five can learn about the fascinating world under the sea."

The apartment wasn't perfect but it didn't ruin our stay. The apartment was spacious, the kitchen had a dish washer and large fridge/freezer but limited pots and pans so worth seeing what you have to cook with before making meal decisions. Ample living space with a dining table and 2 sofas. The bar was only open until 9.30 most nights but we did go in March, never ate in the bar but other families did but check if doing food as we saw one family get disappointed when told no food that night and had to find a takeaway that delivered. Location is perfect for day trips, can have a leisurely walk down into Penzance. Supermarkets a short drive away.

Both the bathroom locks didn't work, doors got stuck against the floor, the boiler had had recent work on it making the carpet in the clock cupboard wet, couldn't open the cupboard door to get to the central heating so had to squeeze hand in a small gap to operate it.

We would definitely stay again and even stay in the same apartment despite the little faults.
